Hello User:Darkfrog24! Could you please tell me how to join the dashboard/fountain as a jury? I logged in but I still do not understand the way. I almost forgot the process how I did last year in the fountain for Meitei wiki. This year, for simple English wiki, I will like to join as both jury (on the condition that I will not judge none of the articles I submit) and contestants. --Haoreima (talk) 14:29, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, figuring out fountain has become the F&F tradition! I have submitted the query. Darkfrog24 (talk) 14:40, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Haoreima: You should be in there now. Give it a look. Darkfrog24 (talk) 13:53, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Darkfrog24 Thanks, I found my name now. For this, did you contact User:Le Loy? --Haoreima (talk) 13:59, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I did. This was a back-end change. Darkfrog24 (talk) 19:02, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template[change source]

Darkfrog24 Could you please create a template for this year like that of previous year Template:FNF2022? To make the template functional in connection to the fountain page, I think we need to change the setting in the fountain tool also. Could you please do that too? --Haoreima (talk) 17:43, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What would I do without you, H? Darkfrog24 (talk) 18:59, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Darkfrog24 No, I mean I don't know how to operate or edit the settings in the fountain page. So, I need your help. :-) --Haoreima (talk) 06:59, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Prize money[change source]

@Haoreima, Ferien, Lights and freedom, DovahFRD, Eptalon, and Prajjwal3959:

The organizers on Meta sent me a questionnaire about what kind of company they should use for the prize money--gift card's for different versions of Amazon this year. I get the impression they want to make sure they use a service that works in the country where the winner lives. Since Simple serves many countries, this is a more complicated issue for us than for others. I am glad they're taking steps to make sure the participants get the prize money they were told they'd get. I plan to inquire further, but I have some questions.

Last year's winners, were you ever contacted to collect your promised prize?

This year's participants, do you live in a country in which you don't have access to the types of prizes that are on offer?

There are two sets of prizes: global (cross-wiki) and local. They're only asking me about the local prizes. I think that, given the small number of participants, two prizes are appropriate: Greatest number of acceptable articles for sure and possibly best-quality article. I think small prizes are appropriate, but I request your input.

Yes we all know the real prize is the simplicity we made along the way, yadda yadda, but still. Darkfrog24 (talk) 02:32, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Darkfrog24 By "questionnaire", do you mean the google form with some questions?
In case, if there're many participants, we can reserve 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for the competition just like most contests do so.
"Greatest number of acceptable articles" is indisputable but "best-quality article" may rise dispute as the opinions of different juries might be different.
Well, regarding Amazon, participants should fill up their respective countries' Amazon. Fortunately, this year's google form gives us an option to choose our respective nation's Amazon (for example amazon.in for India). In the previous year, I received a gift coupon for American Amazon (amazon.us) which became useless to me. I couldn't buy anything using it as I live in India. Many Indian wikipedians had the same experience last year.
So, @Ferien, Lights and freedom, DovahFRD, Eptalon, and Prajjwal3959: guys, please choose your respective countries' code in case if you got the gift coupon. --Haoreima (talk) 07:12, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, perhaps the subjectivity of "best article" would cause fights. Perhaps other projects with larger numbers of voting jury members would be able to dilute accusations of favoritism. You're right; let's skip that one. Darkfrog24 (talk) 18:51, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Scoring[change source]

After jumping the gun on Samrau (mythological character), I think I will hold off on giving any "no" marks until after everyone has had a chance to make all permitted improvements. What do you think, H? Darkfrog24 (talk) 16:47, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Darkfrog24 The expanded or new article should have a minimum 3000 bytes or 300 words. Is this rule valid?--Aidar254 (talk) 19:03, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yup. I don't know why the Fountain system lets articles that are too short in, but it seems to be doing that this year. Darkfrog24 (talk) 19:45, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Darkfrog24 Will you fix the system error manually or leave it as it is? --Aidar254 (talk) 15:05, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Winners[change source]

I need to check about how many winners are recognized per project, but our top three are @Haoreima:, @DovahFRD:, and @Aidar254:. Congratulations to all three of you and to everyone who made good content for Simple's readers. Darkfrog24 (talk) 01:11, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Darkfrog24, Tiven2240 I ask you to check the articles of the participant @Haoreima: again. His articles are very short. The rules should be the same for everyone. Let the international organizers decide if Darkfrog24 can't do it. Thank you. --Aidar254 (talk) 04:07, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So good of you to remind me. As things stand right now, Haoreima submitted 12 articles and I accepted 4. I will check them again anyway. Darkfrog24 (talk) 15:45, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it does seem that some of Haoreima's accepted articles are under the limit. I have inquired after changing the scores. Darkfrog24 (talk) 18:30, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
