It is the leading single from their fifth studio album The Joshua Tree and went to number 1 in the United States, Ireland and Canada, number 4 in the United Kingdom, number 9 in Australia, number 2 in the Netherlands, number 5 in Spain, New Zealand and Finland, number 10 in Switzerland and France and number 11 in South Africa.
