Yes, a new username is like a changed nengō. In part, this serves to mark a small evolution and it establishes an occasion for re-thinking.

The nengō Hōreki means "Valuable Calendar" or "Valuable Almanac". These words are a useful focal point as I ponder what I might want to do in this venue. --Horeki (talk) 04:35, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Please consider this explanation. What I intend is open-ended.

As you know, articles about about the Japanese emperors and the Japanese nengō are created using research which is developed from the same or similar sources.

The same or similar facts and analysis are parsed in two different ways.

The process of simplifying en:Wikipedia articles about these two related subjects is mirrored.

The work can construed as an series of repeated exercises which involve changing perspectives.

On one hand, the steps in simplifying articles about Japanese niche subjects can be seen as repetitive, mechanical tasks.

Big Airport Weekend - January 20-23

We want to invite you to participate in the Big Airport Weekend on Jan 20-23. (See: WP:Big Weekend) The purpose of this weekend is to improve SEWP's coverage of airports and airport related articles. A few tasks and guidelines:

1. Add {{Infobox airport}} to all airport articles
2. To improve existing articles and stubs in the Category:Airports including subcategories.
3. To add new articles on airports. (Any airport with regular commercial service or where a historic event happened is notable enough for an article.)
4. Airports can be civilian, military, and anywhere in the world.
5. Add BAW (for Big Airport Weekend) to the edit summaries to help keep track of the changes.
6. Please use the {{inuse}} template to avoid edit conflicts with other BAW participants.

PROTECT IP act

I don't know how to revert this change except with cut-and-paste.

What about renaming the article with the acroynm read as if it were a word? I see that The Telegraph here uses the phrase "Protect Intellectual Property Act". The acronym was treated as verb descriptor.

In other words, the acronym is treated as a word which is spoken. Please consider the acronyms radar and scuba. Is this usage not a special case when it is the title of an article -- see wikt:acronym? I hope you understand my reasoning. If you think the all caps is better, I will accept your good judgement.

Japan-stub

Hello Horeki,

Yes, it seems the Japan-stub is well underway. I appreciate your support in helping to make sure it got through the gauntlet. I'm using "Asia-stub" as appropriate and "Japan-stub" as well. Even though "Japan-stub" currently redirects to "Asia-stub", it makes no sense to me to go back and edit a second time when these two become distinct. There will soon be several hundred at least Japan-stubs and many more general Asia-stubs as well. Then, to improve them! Over the next week, I will go back and review my own article creations and edits to add the stubs as needed.
