Question about move protection policy[change source]

  • In the reasons for move protecting an article, one is "Articles which have no reason to be moved.". But wouldn't that somewhat fall under pre-emptive protection? ס Talk 11:38, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Templates or a page for requesting page protection[change source]

Hello. I thinked to create some templates or a page for requesting page protection, and this is very useful, if templates should be added, should them be used on the page's talk page, and can I also create a category there the page will be put to? The template names should be:

I will also create parameters to those templates. --Psl631 06:52, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Psl631: I don't know if we need templates or categories like this. Even English Wikipedia doesn't seem to need these. It usually works fine to make these requests at WP:AN.
If you have other ideas like this, it's probably better to bring them up at WP:ST. That's because more people would see them than when you bring them up on a talk page like this. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:55, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6: If there is requests for page protection, can I make a page only for requesting page protection instead of on WP:AN. The page name could be Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. I can remove the redirect, and copy-and-paste some content from en wiki's requests for page protection page. Can I also make templates for requests for page protection which automatically adds to this page? I will bring ideas to WP:ST.--Psl631 08:02, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Psl631: Remember that we try to keep all things simple here, including procedures. We don't need to do everything the way enwiki does. As an admin, I wouldn't want to have to check an additional place for requests. Non-admins might also prefer to keep things in only one place. --Auntof6 (talk) 08:08, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can you add Upload-Protection[change source]

{{editsemiprotected}} Upload Protection can be used to stop users from uploading new versions of files, and it's a Purple lock with a white arrow pointing up. --76.186.93.123 (talk) 16:24, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

On the Simple English Wikipedia it is not enabled because to we do not allow image uploads. See WP:IUP Bobherry (talk) 16:29, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
