Ché Wolton Grant (born 4 March 1994), more commonly known by his stage name AJ Tracey, is an English rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer from Ladbroke Grove, London.
He rose to fame in 2016. He was listed in The Guardian's list of "best new acts to catch at festivals in 2016".[1]
Music career
[change | change source]Tracey's 2017 EP, Secure the Bag! entered the UK Albums Chart at number 13.[2] In 2018, Tracey released the single "Butterflies" featuring English singer Not3s which acted as his breakthrough, reaching the top 20 on the UK Singles Chart.[3] His 2019 album "AJ Tracey", which was released by Warner Records, peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart and featured his highest-charting song "Ladbroke Grove", which peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart.[4]
Personal life
[change | change source]Grant's father is of Trinidadian origin and his mother is a Welsh former jungle DJ. He is a loyal supporter of football club Tottenham Hotspur. He is the cousin of fellow rapper Big Zuu.[5]
