Gotham is an American television series created by Bruno Heller. It is based on the characters of DC Comics. It is set in Gotham City, but was filmed in New York City and parts of Chicago and Detroit.
The show takes place when then-rookie detective police officer James Gordon is trying to find out why Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered. It stars Ben McKenzie, David Mazouz, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Sean Pertwee. It was aired by Fox. The first episode aired in fall 2014, and the last episode aired in the spring of 2017.
