Hell's Kitchen

Hell's Kitchen is an American television series created by Gordon Ramsay for Fox and it also stars chef Gordon Ramsay. It is based on Ramsay's British version of the same television show Hell's Kitchen. The show debuted on May 30, 2005.[1]

In the show, 20 chefs compete on two teams. Sometimes chefs will be swapped to different teams. The two teams cook against each other in Ramsay's restaurant during a dinner service and compete in challenges. Throughout the season, chefs are gradually eliminated from the competition at the end of episodes until one is left. When six chefs are left, they will be awarded a black jacket and will compete in the competition by themselves.

The show has been very popular since it's debut. The fifth episode of the fourth season recorded a total of 11.94 million viewers watch it.[2] Hell's Kitchen has also been nominated for many awards as well. Among the awards, it won in the category of Television — Awards Show, Variety, Music or Non-Fiction Program in 2008.[3] The show was also nominated for the same category in 2007 but lost. The show has also been nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Art Direction for Variety, Music or Nonfiction Programming category in 2007, 2008, and 2009 respectively.

There have also been a fine dining restaurant chain of the same name that is based off of the television show which was first opened in January 2018.[4] A video game based on the show, titled Hell's Kitchen: The Game was released on September 9, 2008.[5]
