Honky Château is the fifth studio album by Elton John. It was released on 19 May 1972 and was titled after the 18th century French chateau where it was mentioned, Château d'Hérouville. It topped the album charts in Spain and the United States. It went to number 2 in the United Kingdom, number 3 in Canada, number 4 in Australia, number 5 in Italy, number 8 in Norway and number 9 in the Netherlands.
