Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland, (Madeleine Thérèse Amélie Joséphine;[1] born on 10 June 1982 in Drottningholm, Sweden), is a Swedish princess. She is the youngest child and second daughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden. Madeleine is seventh in line to the Swedish throne.
Princess Madeleine is married to British financier Christopher O'Neill. The couple has three children, Princess Leonore, Prince Nicolas, and Princess Adrienne.
Early life
[change | change source]Princess Madeleine was born on 10 June 1982 at 19.05 Central European Time[2] in the Drottningholm Palace in Drottningholm, Sweden. Her fourth name, Josephine, honours her ancestor Josephine of Leuchtenberg.
Forbes Magazine ranked Madeleine at 12th place on its "20 Hottest Young Royals" list in 2008.[3]
