Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland, (born Madeleine Thérèse Amélie Joséphine[1] on 10 June 1982 in Drottningholm, Sweden), is a Swedish princess. She is the youngest child and second daughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden. Madeleine is seventh in line to the Swedish throne. She is behind Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar, Prince Carl Philip, Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel.

Princess Madeleine is married to British financier Christopher O'Neill. The couple has two children, a daughter, Princess Leonore, and a son, Prince Nicolas. On the 27th of August the Swedish Royal Court announced that Princess Madeleine and her husband were expecting their 3rd child due in March 2018.

Princess Madeleine was born on 10 June 1982 at 19.05 Central European Time[2] in the Drottningholm Palace in Drottningholm, Sweden. Her fourth name, Josephine honours her ancestor Josephine of Leuchtenberg.

Forbes Magazine ranked Madeleine at 12th place on its "20 Hottest Young Royals" list in 2008[3].
