University of Illinois at Chicago
The University of Illinois at Chicago, often called UIC, is a public research university in Chicago, Illinois. The university has about 30,000 students. Part of it was founded in 1858, part was founded in 1965. UIC has 15 colleges. Thirteen colleges cover certain fields: Applied Health Sciences, Architecture & the Arts, Business Administration, Dentistry, Education, Engineering, Liberal Arts & Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Social Work, and Urban Planning & Public Affairs. Two colleges serve sub-groups of students: Graduate College and (undergraduate) Honors College.

The university sports teams are called the Flames. UIC has 14 varsity teams, most of which play in the Horizon League. The gymnastics team plays in Eastern Intercollegiate Gymnastics League.
