Jocelyn Larocque (Born May 19, 1988) is a Canadian Olympic hockey player. She was the first female indigenous woman to play on Team Canada at the Olympics. She is a part of the Métis Nation. She has won 2 Olympic gold medals, and one silver medal. In 2018, she won the Manitoba Female Indigenous Athlete of the Decade award. Larocque has won a total of 9 world championships.

Early life

Larocque grew up in St. Anne, Manitoba, Canada. As a child, she would play hockey on boys’ teams. She went to college at the University of Minnesota Duluth. While there, she was made all-American twice.

Career

Larocque was an all-American twice (2008-2009, 2010-2011). She began her career playing for the Calgary Oval X-Treme. She has been a player on the Canadian National Hockey team since 2008.

Olympics

Larocque won her first Olympic medal at the 2014 Sochi games, where Canada took the gold. She returned to the games for Pyeongchang 2018, with Canada winning silver. Her most recent games were the 2022 Beijing Olympics, where Canada won gold.

World Championships

Larocque has won gold medals at 3 world championships. She has also won silver medals 5 times, and bronze once.
