Welcome to Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! Thank you for your changes. I hope you like changing pages here. Here are some pages that can help you make better changes:

You do not need to log in to read or change articles on the Simple English Wikipedia. However, making an account is quick, easy and free. It also gives you many benefits such as:

  • A username of your choice
  • Your own user page and/or subpage(s)/sandbox(es)
  • Other users can send you e-mails without knowing your address
  • The ability to move (rename) pages
  • The ability to vote in discussions
  • Keep a watchlist to see changes made to pages you are interested in.

You can click here to make an account.

I hope you enjoy your time here. Please sign your comments on talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~). This will make your IP address and the date show up on the page. If you decide to log in, your username and the date will show up instead. Again, welcome, and I hope you decide to stay! Osiris (talk) 02:34, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

September 2012[change source]

This is the only warning you will get for the bad changes you made. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from changing Wikipedia. We've been very soft here, and haven't issued you any warnings. Chip123456 TalkChanges 18:41, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, now, stop--Chip123456 TalkChanges 17:40, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent changes are vandalism, and this shows that you want to harm Wikipedia. This is your last warning. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from changing Wikipedia. intforce (talk) 16:08, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the change, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Talk about it...[change source]

I think we need to talk about how you do the work. I think you bring too much over from English wiki, and need to slow down. It is better to bring over a small amount, and arrange it perfectly. Later, when you have experience, you may do more.

Best to import not from the visible page, but from the editing box. This way you pick up the format coding (the mark-up system). This is important. A problem with your pages is the lack of format. When you finish, the page has to look like a normal wikipedia page, not just stuff copypasted and stuck in anyhow.

Why not look very closely at other pages on our wiki? See how the mark-up system works, and learn to copy it. These are just a few of the problems we found in your work:

  1. You did not acknowledge where the material came from. If you look at the talk pages you may see a message which tells users where the material came from. That is an acknowledgement of copyright for material taken, usually from English wiki.
  2. You did not simplify the text you copied. We are not a mirror site of English wiki: we aim to give the reader a simple version of the same subjects. See links on our main page.
  3. There were no references, or they were not arranged properly.
  4. You put in recursive links. That means the links came back to the same page.
  5. Graphics were not properly arranged. Graphics have their own syntax. Syntax is instruction to the computer to arrange stuff on the page. Experiment and copy how we do it from other pages. Don't put stuff into our system until they look like they are in good order.
  6. You left the pages in a terrible mess. Really, you should practice on a WP:Sandbox
  7. You have not replied to any of our messages. We are there to help new editors, but at the same time, we can't let you add material with big problems in it. You can find our administrators on WP:Administrators#List of administrators. Any of them will be pleased to give you advice, and help you with problems.
  8. You should try and talk about the problems you find. You are at a point where either you learn how to do it, and gradually improve, or you take no notice. If you do not take notice then, sooner or later, you may find yourself banned from this wiki.

Not simple[change source]

We like and strongly encourage helpful changes to Wikipedia, but "Galba" was directly copied and pasted from the main English Wikipedia. Please do not do that. Such articles are usually too complex and may have templates that do not exist here. Thank you. Osiris (talk) 02:32, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop reinserting that material from the English Wikipedia. If you keep copying and pasting that article without simplifying it, I'm going to have to block you. Osiris (talk) 07:01, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make helpful changes to the encyclopedia. You may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to keep the encyclopedia looking neat and professional. Using different styles in the encyclopedia can make it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about changing this encyclopedia. Thank you. Your recent changes , like those to Claudius, are vandalism and are not acceptable on Wikipedia. Please stop. If you continue vandalizing, you will be blocked from changing pages on Wikipedia. Macdonald-ross (talk) 18:56, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

October 2012[change source]

Please do not remove content from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to "Vitellius", without giving a good reason in the change summary. This is vandalism. If you want to practice changing Wikipedia, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Chenzw  Talk  16:13, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

November 2012[change source]

You have been blocked from changing Wikipedia for 1 Month for vandalism.

Once the block has ended you can make helpful changes. Please read Wikipedia's blocking policy and remember that adding spam, making changes that do not have a neutral point of view, making personal attacks on others, not respecting other people's privacy, and vandalizing pages are not allowed. If you do any of these things, you will be blocked again.

If you think this block is unfair, you can ask to be unblocked by adding {{Unblock|your reason here}} below. If you cannot do this or the reason is private please send an e-mail to simple-admins-l@lists.wikimedia.org and an administrator will look at your reason and reply. You may want to read our guide to unblock requests before asking to be unblocked. DJSasso (talk) 20:27, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
