Thank you
[change source]Dear Alastor Moody, I thank you for supporting me in my request for bureaucratship, which eventually did not suceed. Nope, I don't use the word failure here. Failure comes only when you fail to realise, when you fail to continue. It has been a great experience here and I will still continue my job here. I know, it's not that you disapprove of me, but it's that we do not need anymore bureaucrats. Sure, I'm open. I'm really fine with that. I'm sorry if my response came late. School camps and donation drives have geld me up, I'm sorry. Thank you once again!-- Tdxiang 02:39, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Renamed
[change source]OK, I've now renamed you. Thanks, Archer7 - talk 18:32, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

- New username, new start! Congrats, Snake311.-- Tdxiang 09:33, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it's just a little figure of speech. Normally, when something new happens, it's usually auspicious! :)-- Tdxiang 02:53, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- why you change your username? :) I would like to change my username too, in .snoopy. :)

Vandalism?
[change source]Hey, just curious, why did you revert edits made to the page Affenpinscher. Maybe I missed something but doesn't the guy give a bunch of related information? Or is it just a copy - paste thing?

[change source]Hello Snake311, I have made some small changes (to language, not content). My gut feeling is that the article qualifies as a proposition, let's see what the other editors say. --Eptalon 20:12, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
re: Possible sockpuppets (and vandals)
[change source]Hello. The last five (or possibly six) voters (except user:Zoey) on Simple talk, I think, are sockpuppets. Their denials only makes me think more so, especially since all of them, except User:SNIPPIT, commented within ten minutes of each other. (as seen here). I never said anything about them being the sockpuppets. I could have been talking about someone else, but they assumed I was talking about them (hmm...). IMO, someone should file an RFCU, which should determine if they're socks or not. --Isis§(talk) 20:05, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm...maybe contacting User:M7 would be a good idea. Or we could just not count their votes, since they are not established users. --Isis§(talk) 20:52, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, then I guess we have to confirn them as sockpuppets and block them. --Isis§(talk) 21:39, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- I told Isis and I will telly you, too! I am NIT A PUPPET! SNIPPIT 18:27, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[change source]Do you plan to simplify this page soon? Generally, it is not a good idea to just copy-paste a page from English Wikipedia and leave it in that form. Adding a complex tag doesn't really make it "okay". If you were a new user, I'd probably revert the copy-paste. But since you are a well-established user, I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you will make sure the article has an appropriate format and level of language for this wiki. Thanks. (I hope I don't sound harsh, because I don't mean to be. Unsimplified copy-pastes are just a pet peeve of mine. I mean, the whole point of SE is that the pages have a different level of language from EN...anyways, I'll stop "ranting" now. :-) ) · Tygartl1·talk· 19:41, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
What do you think it was?
[change source]What do you think it was, that you reverted? What is clear, it was in an effort to tell me I don't understand japanese! Nevertheless, I'm still wondering what the rest of it says! - Huji reply 17:02, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, you where right. I don't know Japanese, and that was vandalism. I haven't installed east asian language support on my home machine, so I cannot even read that! I think that was in answer to my contribution in stopping a Japanese vandal who was later (I mean later than my messages to him/her) blocked by an admin. - Huji reply 19:58, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Interwiki
[change source]Hi again. The interwiki you added to English Wikipedia here is not good. The interwikis should be set in a one-to-one manner. We shouldn't interwiki several articles about cities of Nicaragua plus the Nicaragua article itself, to a same page on a different wiki. - Huji reply 20:34, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
PS:And, eh, sorry about this. - Huji reply 20:35, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi!
[change source]Hi! I don't believe such a clear-cut case is a matter of authority, but of plain old common sense. WP:SNOW has a necessary corollary in other rules usually applied throughout different Wikis, like w:WP:IAR and w:WP:BOLD. One can only wonder at the usefulness, and somewhat even the intentions of a RfA process started by an editor with "one" edit and a confessed past as a vandal; in evident cases like this, it's almost like a reversion of vandalism. Please, don't feel bad for being the only one to comment on that RfA; if anything, that only speaks of the inexperience of the candidate, not badly about you in the least. Best regards, Phaedriel - 07:25, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Dear Snake
[change source]Dear Snake, as you may have seen, I'm trying to help you out with Subtropical storm in order to move it to the voting stage asap. Great effort, and my congratulations for it! I personally felt that some parts needed simplifying and copyedit, and a little rewording. My fear is that, that in my effort to make it more suitable to our project, any of my changes might have an impact on the technical meaning of some sentences. Please, feel free to review and redo my edits if that's the case. Have a beautiful day! Love, Phaedriel - 03:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- I completely agree with your assessment, and that is what I found the most frustrating aspect of Simple English. That's why I find it takes me way longer to write in Simple English than regular English! :) However, since my field of expertise is not as technical, but more cultural matters, an alternate wording is almost always available. Your own field appears much more complex for this reason. In any case, I've finished reviewing your great article. I think that (if you believe the technical meaning has not been distorted by the review), it'll be ready to go as soon as a couple of new red links that I added in order to help certain words to be understood are filled, and maybe a couple more external links are added. Please, let me know if I can assist you with these things, I'll be happy to help. Cheers, Phaedriel - 03:29, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- Please, don't mention it, dear Snake :) I've finished revisiting your article, and I feel it's ready in terms of style, content, and referencing. There's a last detail: I felt it was important to link to 2004 Atlantic hurricane season, a very relevant topic that was cited, but not linked to. This has created a last red link in the article. Since this is a major article, and one where my expertise is very weak, I've left it to you to make an entry for it. There's no need for it to be long; something similar to 2005 Atlantic hurricane season would be just perfect. The very moment you fill that red link, I'll move it to the voting stage myself. And, btw, just as soon as I finish my work at Geisha (hopefully tomorrow it'll be ready to be reviewed) I'll have a go on your Neptune project, k? Have a beautiful day! :) Love, Phaedriel - 09:06, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Thank you! :)
[change source]Thank you so much for the wonderful gift, and for your continued support and faith in me, dear friend :) I owe you so much in my time here, that i simply cannot find the words to properly express my gratitude. So let this be a short and sweet "thank you", with the hope that the future holds in store a long and beautiful path of collaboration and friendship between us. [change source]- Thank you so much for nominating me, but I'm afraid as much as I'd like to, I can't. I'm happy with being a small-time editor and having a "safty net" that is our admins to fall into if I make a mistake. Sorry also for replying so late, was at a wedding in Spain (bridesmaids, mmm).

Trusting users
[change source]Hi :)
As you know, Stewards have access to some powerful tools for the Wikimedia Foundation Wikies. This indeed requires trusted people. On the other hand, all the tools are used to give other people the appropriate tools, based on the consensus of their community. Of course, this process implies giving trust to those users...
In a similar way, the CheckUser policy requires that at least two users have the CU status, and also states that Activity will be checked mutually.
I'm sorry if I'm boring, please feel free to write me if you are in doubt or should you have any question.
Ciao,
- Yes, I understand. Thank you for your trust. I was trying to say that only a trial period can say if users are capable in performing well in a new assignment. Furthermore, since there is a mutual verification and also any Steward can examine logs, the risk of arbitrary actions is really low. Finally, the Ombudsman commission has been formed in case of complaints about privacy and has full access to any relevant data. Ciao, --M7 22:19, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Age
[change source]In response to the question on my talk, technically I don't go to "school" any more. Not quite sure which country you're in, but I'm not from the USA - in the education system over here I'm now in college, and that gives me a much more flexible timetable rather than being locked in at set times all day. Archer7 - talk 06:28, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Trusting users (2)
[change source]I read your comment here. I understand your concerns fully. Just one thing we should keep in mind: Lar also started from one wiki, then expanded to many other wikis. For Creol, here is the start. He may change his habbits and get involved in more wikis, or he may put all his time in our wiki. Best of all, - Huji reply 19:26, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I'm certain what you did was with good faith, and I appreciate it. Disregarding how much I agree with you about this special case, I think what you did is okay. - Huji reply 10:48, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser
[change source]I think the page was created as a place to request checkuser action rather than a place to request access. With a visable place for people to openly state CU requests, it gives us a level of transparency into why a CU action is taken on an account rather than "some admins were talking..." or "This was brought up on Simple talk...". The page would act as a central place for matters dealing with checks rather than having to search multiple places for why it happened. Right now I think its main use is just targetting the latest batch of Kimberly Ashton socks as Ionas is too vocal to hide his for more than a couple edits and KA just had another 5 accounts shut down from September. -- Creol(talk) 07:18, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser
[change source]Regarding your message on my talk page about Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser, I think you've get it wrong. Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser is not a place to nominate for "becoming a checkuser". It will still be done through Wikipedia:Requests for adminship, as you said. Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser will be used to add requests for checkuser information, that is, to check two or more accounts or IP addresses against each other. Check en:Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser to see what exactly I mean. - Huji reply 10:42, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed, Creol already told that to you, and I sent this message before reading his comment. ;) - Huji reply 10:45, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Categories
[change source]Going through some of your most recent changes, I've noticed that you have added categories for births and living people to some pages that already had the {{BD}} template on them. If you check out the page for the template, you'll notice that it not only places them in those categories (or death year if they're deceased), it also serves as a defaultsort for the person. I hope you'll check it out and use this template in the future. Thanks! · Tygrrr·talk· 14:35, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Also, please allow me to go over a quick example for how to create a category for births or deaths in a certain year. Let's take Category:1964 births. On the edit page, it should be placed into [[Category:1964|Births]] and [[Category:1960s births]]. I hope you find this little bit of information helpful. :-) · Tygrrr·talk· 14:46, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
