Multiple edits on same article[change source]

I see several places where you have made several separate edits to individual articles. Please try to combine your edits. If you are using HotCat to make multiple category changes, you can use HotCat's multiple change mode; see here for how to do that. As I have said in the past, I hope you are not making separate edits in order to increase your edit count. --Auntof6 (talk) 21:41, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I'm not actually trying to increase my edit count but I will try to do it better next time. I'm trying to fix my errors and I'm hoping to help make Wikipedia better and looking foward. --Cyrfaw (Talk) 18:58, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Global rollbacker and sysop[change source]

FYI, I have nominated this template for deletion for the same reason as given for Template:User wikipedia/Administrator and Checkuser above. When creating templates, please think about whether they are needed here. --Auntof6 (talk) 21:44, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Some comments on your edits[change source]

I recently undid some of your edits and I wanted to explain why.

  • This edit to Backlash (2005), where you changed "[[Manchester, New Hampshire]]" to "[[Manchester]], [[New Hampshire]]". This caused a problem, because Manchester (linked separately) is a place in the country of England. In general, it's better not to separately link parts of a place (such as a city and state or country) when it's not required. Not only can it cause problems like this did, but it's just plain simpler to link them together if that's a valid article title.
  • This edit to Nord-Pas-de-Calais, where you added words saying that the region borders the UK. It does not border the UK, it borders the English Channel. You also added a link to Lille, but that was unneeded because Lille was already linked earlier in the same paragraph.
  • This change to 2022 Winter Olympics, where you changed "[[Santiago, Chile]], [[Chile]]" to "[[Santiago]], [[Chile]]". This made the link point to the disambiguation page Santiago instead of to the page about the city in Chile. I changed it to "[[Santiago, Chile]]".
  • This change to Port-en-Bessin-Huppain, where you changed "northwest" to "north-west". The word "northwest" does not have a hyphen in it. (Neither do the words northeast, southwest, and southeast.)
  • This change to the disambiguation page Scotch Irish, where you changed "[[Scotch-Irish American]]s" to "[[Scottish-Irish American]]s". I can understand why you made this change, but in this case "Scotch-Irish" is the correct term.

Looking at all these, I offer the following suggestions:

  • When you change the way something is linked, please check to be sure it links to a correct place.
  • You do not need to link every occurrence of a word in each article. Usually one link is enough. Sometimes links in infoboxes, image captions, and tables are exceptions to this.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. --Auntof6 (talk) 21:46, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for notifying me. I will try to understand what you are saying and doing it. Regards --Cyrfaw (Talk) 22:08, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If there's something I said that you don't understand, let me know and I'll try to clarify it. --Auntof6 (talk) 22:57, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
