User Page

You might want to fix the 'contributions' link on your user page, so it shows your own contribs :) Currently it links to the contributions of User:Example. FSM Noodly? 15:39, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, it seems I only linked the picture. Liverpoolfan567 (talk) 15:41, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Other Wikipedia use of your clock

Hi, I am based on Simple English Wikipedia and I would like to use your great clock. How can I use it from a different Wikipedia? Thanks. Liverpoolfan567 (talk) 10:28, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the clock uses no additional Wikipedia templates, and all the images are at Wikimedia Commons, so if you or I simply copy the code here, e.g., to Template:Digiclock, it will just work. However, the markup of the clock internally, and even the markup of the documentation page, is very complicated. Modifying it, if you need to do that, is not at all simple. I'm happy to help if changes are needed though. Shall I import it here? By the way, the clock on my user page, which has the clouds background, is even more complicated than the normal LED clock template. I don't recommend it for general use because it doesn't work right in Internet Explorer. Anakin101 (talk) 16:23, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes please. I would like to use your blue LED clock. Thanks very much. Please import it onto my talk page, then I'll move it where I would like it. Liverpoolfan567 (talk) 16:25, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Do you mean the one on my userpage or the template itself? Anakin101 (talk) 16:31, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The template. Thanks. Liverpoolfan567 (talk) 16:33, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well here's the code: [1]. Anakin101 (talk) 16:40, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Guess I'd misunderstood a bit. I thought you wanted to transwiki the actual template, not just dump its raw code on a page. But no matter. Anakin101 (talk) 16:43, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{unreferenced}}

Hi there! I saw you adding several unreferenced tags to many pages as you did here. I don't think it is useful to add this to a stub with one little sentence and an orphan tag. (we all know they are unreferenced and not the best stubs). Regards Barras (talk) 11:57, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I will stop. Liverpoolfan567 (talk) 12:04, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I just think it is pretty clear that an one line stub without reference is unreferenced. Otherwise we must tag nearly all stubs here with this tag. Thanks for understanding :) --Barras (talk) 12:06, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ambarak hamed warning

Hi, you left a warning here, but I'm not sure why. You never reverted any of his edits nor did he have any edits that were deleted. Where exactly was his test edit made and removed when you warned him? Thanks, Either way (talk) 15:36, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the page. I thought he had tested his edits on the user talk page, he didn't sign his name, but it is him because his changes are in the edit log of that article. Hope this helps. Liverpoolfan567 (talk) 19:10, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well your warning to him says "Your test worked, and it is now gone." However, his edit was still there when you posted that warning. That's what I'm confused by. Either way (talk) 19:27, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed the content. Liverpoolfan567 (talk) 19:45, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Block notices

Please do not add block notices to the talk page of blocked users since it is likely that they will think that you were the admin who blocked them and might try to contact you. While in this case that was not possible, the notice was redundant as {{anonblock}} had already been added to the talk page. Thank you, Pmlineditor  09:56, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Liverpoolfan567 Send me a message 20:09, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Freemoney Warnings

Please slow down and be careful with your warnings as shown at User talk:FREEMONEY. It took you 9 edits to get three notices on there. In addition, it was not necessary to add a second warning to his page as you did. He did not edit at all or add another page between your 11:27 warning and your 11:29 warning. Warnings are not meant to pile up like that. They should only be used as the behavior is occurring. Please slow down with it and keep this in mind. Thank you, Either way (talk) 11:48, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I know, I chose the wrong template for both. I have removed my second warning. I was worried there would be an edit conflict. I added a second warning because he made two contributions:
  • 11:27, 15 November 2009 Pmlineditor (talk | changes) deleted "Freemoney" ‎ (QD A1: The page has little or no meaning.)
  • 11:24, 15 November 2009 Peterdownunder (talk | changes) deleted "FREE MONEY" ‎ (QD G1: Page did not make any sense. Complete nonsense.)

Copied from the deletion log. Thanks for your notice, I'll slow down. Liverpoolfan567 Send me a message 11:54, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, he made two contributions, but warnings are not meant to just pile up without edits in between. If a person vandalizes three articles at 1:01, 1:03, and 1:04, they shouldn't receive escalating warnings at 1:05, 1:07, and 1:08. The warnings are meant to prevent the behavior, not keep a log like that. Thanks, Either way (talk) 11:59, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again. I'm only trying to help and I'm still learning. Liverpoolfan567 Send me a message 12:01, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Templates

Hey there Liverpoolfan! Firstly I'd like to thank you for your vandal fighting efforts - keep up the good work! It's a great help to the wiki and keeping it clean and unblemished by the silly vandals. However, I noticed that you recently added "Sockpuppet" tags to the userpages of some blocked users. These type of edits should really be left to an administrator or CU who administered the block, and are actually not particularly useful as they will go way. Please don't be put off by this though as your contributions to the wiki are very much appreciated, and you do excellent work! Keep it up! Regards, Barras (talk) 20:28, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you want me to undo my edits? Liverpoolfan567 Send me a message 20:46, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No. This would just be an unneeded work. Just an info for the future :) Keep up the great work. --Barras (talk) 20:48, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Warnings

Please stop warning for me. I know you mean well, but in specific cases, I warn (or don't warn) for a reason. We could warn the user for the same thing, which wouldn't be very good. Griffinofwales (talk) 19:21, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what you mean - it was an edit conflict. Liverpoolfan567 Send me a message 19:23, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Where? I'm not talking about one case in particular, but several cases. Griffinofwales (talk) 19:24, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
When I see vandalism, I warn the user. I can't help it if you beat me to it. Are you asking me to stop reverting vandalism? Liverpoolfan567 Send me a message 19:26, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, if you revert the vandalism, then warn the user by all means. What I am asking you to do is to stop warning users for vandalism that another user reverted. Griffinofwales (talk) 19:34, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, now I see what you mean. Sorry. Liverpoolfan567 Send me a message 19:35, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any particular reason why you warned my bot, GoblinBot4, here? If the bot made an error please report it on JIRA, but from what I have seen it did not make any errors, so why the QD warning? Cheers, Goblin 14:41, 20 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Juliancolton![reply]

This was not a warning, just a quick deletion notice. I used Twinkle to accidentally nominate a page for quick deletion. I cleaned up my mistake on the user talk page, however didn't notice your bot. It shows the amount of care you need to take using semi-automated tools. Sorry. Liverpoolfan567 Send me a message 14:45, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Meh. Same thing. ;) No worries, just take a bit more care in future. Cheers, Goblin 14:56, 20 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Shappy![reply]
