This is a list of colleges and universities who play sports in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC):
In late 2011, the ACC invited the University of Pittsburgh and Syracuse University, of the Big East Conference, to become members. These schools will joined the ACC in July 2013. In September 2012, another Big East school, the University of Notre Dame, said it would also join the ACC at a date yet to be determined. Notre Dame will remain an independent—not in a conference—in football. Two months after the Notre Dame announcement, Maryland said it would leave the ACC for the Big Ten Conference in July 2014. Within days, the ACC invited yet another Big East member, the University of Louisville, to replace Maryland.
