Taishi Matsumoto (松本 泰志, Matsumoto Taishi, born August 22, 1998) is a Japanese football player.

Biography[change | change source]

Matsumoto was born in Higashimatsuyama on August 22, 1998. After graduating from Shohei High School, he joined J1 League club Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 2017. In August 2020, he moved to J2 League club Avispa Fukuoka. He played many matches and Fukuoka was promoted to J1 end of the 2020 season. In 2021, he moved to J1 club Cerezo Osaka.

In May 2019, Matsumoto was selected the Japan national team for 2019 Copa América, but he did not play in the match.
