Can anyone extend this, and see that the difference btzween (hard) SF and Fantasy is made clear? - TOlkien is not a SF writer; he has written something that can be seen as Fantasy though (whether he was good at it, is another story). --Eptalon (talk) 11:22, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ideally the difference between hard SF and soft SF should also be explained. If you ever read Nightfall (by I.Asimov) you will know SF is not about technology. --Eptalon (talk) 12:16, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Subgenres[change source]

I've gone ahead and made a massive import from enWP but not all of that Science Fiction entry, just the sub-genre section. It is still a huge addition/change. I've simplified as much as a could right at the moment, but got interrupted. I'll be back for further cleanup shortly. I want this to become a Good Article soon. Anyone else? Thanks! Still working on simplifying language and tightening things up. I discovered an existing page for one subgenre (Cyberpunk) and created one other (Space opera). My goal here is to get the subgenre descriptions shorter and simpler and point to the individual pages for more depth like themes, important examples, etc. Sound OK? I'm pretty new here and don't want to break conventions in a fit of enthusiasm. Thanks! Ted O'Neill (talk) 03:55, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Far too much was brought over. Completism is not an key objective! Comprehension is. Macdonald-ross (talk) 11:42, 24 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Basically an unreadable and complex addition has wrecked this page, which now is not simple. IMO. Macdonald-ross (talk) 15:06, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
