Tampa is a city in Marion County, Kansas, United States.[1][5] In 2010, 112 people lived there.[6]

In 1887, the Chicago, Kansas and Nebraska Railway built a railroad from Herington through Tampa to Pratt.[7]

The Golden Belt Town Company filed the plat for Tampa in 1887. The city name is said to have been suggested by a railroad engineer who rode one of the first trains through Tampa. Tampa was incorporated as a city in 1908.[8][9]

A post office was created in Tampa on April 17, 1888.[10]

Tampa is at 38°32′55″N 97°9′18″W / 38.54861°N 97.15500°W / 38.54861; -97.15500 (38.548493, −97.154893).[1] The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 0.18 square miles (0.47 km2). All of it is land.[2]

The 2010 census says that there were 112 people, 48 households, and 27 families living in Tampa.[3]

The Tampa State Bank[11] and Tampa Cafe are in Tampa.[12]
