Welcome[change source]

Hello! I am assuming you have come over from the English Wikipedia, so you are probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few links to help you adjust:

There is much to do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that do not exist yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Do have a look around and see what you would like to do. Thank you for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need help. IWI (chat) 20:33, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

August 2020[change source]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Lady Louise Windsor has been reverted, as it appears to have removed content from the page without explanation. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. I have reverted this back. The edit was helpful. IWI (chat) 21:01, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I was in the middle of making more edits and I must have accidentally pressed save before finishing. ~ Iamthecheese44 (talk) 21:11, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Iamthecheese44. It looks like an article you created was derived from the English Wikipedia or another version of Wikipedia. If that is indeed the case, please make sure you add some form of attribution, either in your change summary or on the article's talk page. This must be done, even for derivative works, or the article will be deleted in time. More instructions on how to do this are at Wikipedia:Transwiki attribution. Thank you. April 2023[change source]

Hello, Iamthecheese44! Here at Simple English Wikipedia we use the section heading "Other websites" instead of English Wikipedia's "External links", which you used in "Princess Astrid, Mrs. Ferner". This makes it simpler and easier to read. Please remember to use "Other websites" in articles that you create in the future. Thank you for your help! Notice of former RFDs related to the categories that you added to articles[change source]

Hello, some of the categories that you added to pages have been denied at this project. Related discussions can be seen at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2014/Categories showing mixes of national ancestry and Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2023/Category:18th-century women. I have already removed the unaccepted categories from the pages, so no further action is perhaps not needed. Thank you for your attention. MathXplore (talk) 05:38, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Short descriptions[change source]

Hi, Simple English Wikipedia does not use {{Short description}}, so it's a good idea to remove this template when you create an article. Thanks! Lights and freedom (talk) 19:53, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Adapting articles from English Wikipedia[change source]

Hello, Iamthecheese44. Thanks for your contributions here. I was just looking at the article you created on Princess Désirée, Baroness Silfverschiöld. It looks like you based it on the English Wikipedia article. When you do that, please note the following:

  • Be sure to add attribution on the talk page. This is a legal requirement when copying text from anywhere else, even another Wikipedia.
  • If the article has any categories that Simple English Wikipedia does not have, either remove them or use categories that exist here. You could also create a new category if there are three entries to put into it. (See the guideline Wikipedia:Categories#Is there a need for the new category? for information about that.)
  • If the article here has a references section, make sure there is at least one reference. If there isn't, the best thing is to add one, but if you're not going to do that then remove the section.
  • If there are any red links in hatnotes, remove those links. Although we usually leave red links in the text of articles, red links in hatnotes are not helpful. The same is true of red links in the Related pages section. (This article doesn't have such a section, but I mention it for future reference.)

Thanks. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. -- Auntof6 (talk) 06:15, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
