Lady Slim (edit · talk · history · links · watch · logs · delete) · close request

Sura Shukurlu has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: Fails Notability. The subject doesn't have significant coverage in secondary reliable sources and the sources in the article don't reflect the attention of the sources to the subject. Overall, the article exaggerates the focus on the individual's activities: While the article states that the individual was highlighted by the French media, the mentioned site was created by a French blogger and is undoubtedly not a significant and reliable source. It's also worth noting that the article was created by the same user in all language sections. Sura Shukurlu (talk) 21:57, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[change source]

Lady Slim is a person who fights with her image for freedom and protection of the rights of LGBTQ+ people in Azerbaijan and this is proven by the sources I mentioned above. It's very difficult to be a drag queen in this part of the world. If you look closely, a user who stands out for her activity only on the Azerbaijani-language Wikipedia requested the deletion of all articles about Lady Slim, even though she had no or very little contribution in the Wikipedias in other languages. If a user doesn't use that Wikipedia and contribute, then why should they ask those Wikipedias to remove an article about a person? Additionally, I strongly disagree with the argument that the sources proposed for deletion are unreliable. So the sources I mentioned above are those supported by the , EU, UNDP, UK, Friedrich Ebert Foundation and other influential Western organizations. I don't think it's right to delete the article because of this baseless argument. with respect to all Futurolog21 (talk) 10:36, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete The other wikis that have this as an article are all nominated for deletion. I read some of the comments from the other wiki deletions and I agree with them, this person is not notable enough. Shoot for the Stars (talk) 19:32, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
After all, I mentioned that the same user put the delete template in all the wikis. Please pay attention to this. The same user suggested removal from all wikis. There is no user activity or contribution in any of these wikis.Futurolog21 (talk) 20:50, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete Does not meet notability. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 11:55, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep According to Wikipedia's rules, being the first and bringing innovation in any field is considered worthy of attention. This person is also the first drag queen in his country. But in terms of human rights in Azerbaijan, we have tried to draw attention to the trampling of the rights of thousands of LGBT people in the example of one person in this article, of course by showing the sources. precisely because of the truths in the article, a user from Azerbaijan proposed to delete the article from all wikis.Futurolog21 (talk) 13:18, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete We're not concerned with your motivation. The person is simply not notable. Macdonald-ross (talk) 09:11, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete appears to be a cross-wiki spam. Tehonk (talk) 21:40, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep IMHO, being the first in a country like Azerbaijan, having drawn some media attention, also abroad, and with relevant references, makes her notable. (Maybe even the simple fact that the topic has been discussed by several wikipedia communities makes her notable.) Though, it might be reworked/improved, as some mentioned that the article exaggerates her activities. Additionally, it is unusual that someone requests removal from all wikipedias. Not to mention that, weirdly, some wikipedias might decide to keep it, while it would be considered not notable for (normal) English and Azerbaijani versions...      Comment: Going through logs I noticed that there is Futurolog21 cross-posting to get votes to keep on all Wikipedias. [This is one such diff]. I think the post speaks for itself. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 23:45, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Since I am the author of the article, of course I have to work for it to stay. I think there is nothing unusual here. On the page you are referring to, the ideas are divided into 2 parts. Some want the article to stay. The other part wants to delete it. Those who want it removed are also right, because the user who asked Wikipedia to remove it from all languages is a compatriot of the person in the article. They do not understand the reasons because they are not in Azerbaijan. Those who understood opposed its removal. Currently, these discussions resemble a war of democracy and authoritarianism between the author who submitted an article on Wikipedia and the user who suggested its removal. Because in this era, drag queens play an important role in challenging societal norms, promoting inclusion, and fostering a sense of belonging. Therefore, it is important for us that the article about the drag queen from Azerbaijan remains on Wikipedia, not because of one person, but because of the general situation. @Futurolog21 Be advised that this RfD closes today and per consensus, it will be deleted. You are also not allowed to canvass for others to come on here and vote. You have done that according to the logs and that, in and of itself, can lead to you being blocked. It is considered project disruption.
