San Diego State University or SDSU for short is a public university in San Diego, California, and a part of the California State University system. The university has about 33,790 students. It was founded in 1897. The current president of the university is Elliot Hirshman.

Sports [change]

The athletics teams of the university are called the Aztecs. They have 17 varsity teams and they compete in the Mountain West Conference. In July 2013, the school will leave the Mountain West. Most of its teams will join the Big West Conference, while the football team will join the Big East Conference.
