About Me[change | change source]

"I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious."

— Albert Einstein, Letter to Carl Seelig, 11 March 1952

My name is Darren W. Mize, and I have been a Wikipedian since December 2006. I am also a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), and I study History, Anthropology, and Languages, including English, Old English, German, and Swedish. I am from the US, but I have lived in Sweden and I now live in Japan. I enjoy traveling and have visited most of the U.S. states, as well as Japan, Mexico, Canada, Iceland, Sweden, and Finland. Sometimes I do historical reinactment in the SCA, where I participate in Arts and Sciences events and armored combat, and I study Heraldry, Tafl games, and other historical board games. I enjoy listening to music, especially Opeth, Dark Tranquillity, Amon Amarth, Sigur Rós, Amiina, as well as several Progressive Metal and Viking Metal artists. Feel free to leave me a message on my talk page here, but you may get a quicker response if you leave it on my standard English talk page.

Það Besta Sem Guð Hefur Skapað Er Nýr Dagur

The best thing god has created is a new day.

- Sigur Rós

My Wikimedia contributions[change | change source]

I mostly work English Wikipedia, but I also work on German Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. On English Wikipedia, I also work on the Board and table games project and the Heraldry and vexillology project. I look forward to improving the Simple English articles on these and other topics.
