Welcome[change source]

Hello! I am assuming 1 you have come over from the English Wikipedia, so you are probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few links to help you adjust:

If you need help just click here and type {{helpme}} and your question and someone will reply to you shortly. You can also check out the help section of Wikipedia, or leave a message on my talk page.

There is a lot you can do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that have not been created yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Just remember you can not directly copy them. They must be simplified. Do have a look around and see what you would like to do. Thank you for joining us. Happy changing! How do I change the name for an Article?[change source]

I created the article Ourea, but I want to name it "Ourea (mythology)" to make the article understandable from looking at it. Is there a way I can change it, or can someone else change it for me. (If I can not) Angerxiety (talk) 01:32, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You can click "More" at the top of the page to move a page to a different name. Did it for Ourea :)DovahFRD (talk) 01:35, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You will not be able to move a page until you are autoconfirmed. This will happen four days after you first logged in to Simple English Wikipedia. Then you will be able to do what DovahFRD said. Lights and freedom (talk) 16:52, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That was an error on my end, I thought I selected G2 for sure. It could've also been deleted for A1, since it has little to no meaning. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 04:23, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring vandals[change source]

Hey Angerxiety and thanks for your contributions. With edit warring vandals like the one you reverted on Anime, please make sure you do not edit war with them. Instead, follow BRI, Block Revert Ignore. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 17:07, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Short descriptions[change source]

Hello Angerxiety, the Simple English Wikipedia (and every other wiki that's not the English Wikipedia) does not use the {{short description}} template. It doesn't work here. Instead, short descriptions are taken from Wikidata's English language description. Thought I'd let you know about that. Thanks! — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 11:27, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. I am curious, where did I use the {{short description}} template? I don't remember this. Angerxiety 03:54, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It was this edit you made to Ich bin ein Berliner. Sorry for the late reply. Don't hesitate to ping me on your talk page, I sometimes miss messages on other people's talk pages. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 07:12, 17 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Angerxiety. I saw the edit comment on your creation of this category. We create the maintenance categories when there is something in them. (In other words, we don't create empty categories.) You creating this category was fine, because there was something in it.

I see that you are fairly new here. You might be interested in this list I maintain of ways that Simple English Wikipedia is different from the other Wikipedias. The list itself is not a policy or guideline, but it links to some relevant policies and guidelines. If you have any questions about anything on it, feel free to ask. -- Auntof6 (talk) 07:46, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Quick deletion of User:Angerxiety/Sandbox[change source]

The page you wrote, User:Angerxiety/Sandbox, has been selected for quick deletion. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. You can find more information about the reason here. Angerxiety 23:31, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the notification, however I've removed the QD tag as explained in the talk page. Please review. (and yes I just replied to myself. no I'm not weird.) Angerxiety 23:36, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! If the situation is that you can not say for sure, that "A Company limited by guarantee is a kind of Limited company", then please consider taking a rest from that article before you remove that precise and accurate information (from the first line). 2001:2020:311:E2DF:189:9F0:E520:D92E (talk) 20:07, 31 January 2023 (UTC)/ 2001:2020:311:E2DF:189:9F0:E520:D92E (talk) 20:14, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The reason I reverted your edit was because there were two lead sections both introducing what a company limited by guarantee is. I didn't "remove" them, I reverted your edits. Sorry for the late response. Angerxiety 17:16, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@2A04:4A43:417F:D94D:E5A6:EBE8:8F4D:CDF0 Ah I see. Weird then, I thought I reverted that edit to your revision, so why did it go back to that edit? Angerxiety 07:09, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I see you've reverted my edit on Cyrillic script and considered it to be "vandalism." May I ask why? I was adding information about the history of the Kazakh Cyrillic alphabet, I don't see how that's vandalism. Also, I changed "Cyrillic alphabet" to "Russian alphabet" since Cyrillic is a script, it's not an alphabet. I don't see how that's vandalism either, but I do understand if you didn't know about the subject. Cmnpt (talk) 19:50, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

:Script almost always = alphabet. Take the Latin script, for example. It is also an alphabet. That applies here too, Cyrillic is both a script and an alphabet. Justarandomamerican (talk) 19:52, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Cmnpt There was no date about the use of the Cyrillic script in Kazahkstan, you just put it there. It is talking about the Cyrillic script not the Russian alphabet (because the Russians use the Cyrillic script). Maybe, you should have changed alphabet to script. Hoping not A3[change source]

I noticed your creation summary and have to ask why you "hope" it's not A3'd when you, quite clearly, copied it from English Wikipedia. I'm happy to not A3 it and give you some time to fix it... but you'll need to simplify the page instead of "hoping it's not A3'd". Please review WP:HOW. Operator873 connect 03:05, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I say I hope because I believe there is nothing more I can do to simplify the article as it is. Angerxiety+ 03:10, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Have you read WP:HOW yet? We use a limited word list on this project. Do you believe that article only contains those words or links to explanatory pages or Wiktionary definitions? Writing in simple English does not mean making the article short or using simple sentences. It's the content that matters. Operator873 connect 03:20, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Aratiles[change source]

If you're going to change the article so it's about the plant, can you still include the information about the fruit? Otherwise you just removed it and redirected it to a different article that people won't understand. Thanks! Lights and freedom (talk) 18:52, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Of course! Angerxiety! 18:53, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades[change source]

Good evening, I saw that you made some changes on the simple wikipedia over the article that me and my classmate are editing for a university project: al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades.

I am just leaving you here a message to let you know that I very appreciate the work that you and the other editors do on Wikipedia, and that we are trying to do the same purposeful job for our article! Therefore, thanks to your advice, I am skimming the article to make it simpler and easier to read, please leave me a message in my talk page if you have any other suggestions.

Bests,

I had not realized, but that page had already been vandalized for several months. It said something like "award for most children killed in the lithium mines". I am not going to argue, but the correct grammar when a date range is prefixed with from is from XXXX to YYYY not from XXXX-YYYY. Nunabas (talk) 20:47, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that is correct indeed. However, we follow a manual of style. The manual of style states that
"When a range of dates involves only numbers, type an en dash between the numbers with no spaces around it ("5–7 January 1979"; "January 5–7, 2002")."
Here's the section: MoS on date ranges
(Scroll down to Date ranges.)
Angerxiety! 21:01, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think Nunabas is correct here. Without the word "from", you could use a dash, but if you're using "from", you should also use "to". Lights and freedom (talk) 21:03, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Lights and freedom, thanks for making my point a bit clearer. Ideally remove the word from and use the dashes, or keep from and swap the dash to a to Nunabas (talk) 18:05, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Vandalism after final warning" reports at VIP[change source]

Hi, Angerxiety. About the report you made where the IP actually hadn't made any changes after their final warning: I know how difficult it can be to figure out time differences for things like that. I just thought I'd mention what I've done to make that easier: I set my Wikipedia time to UTC. That way I don't have to do any calculating to compare timestamps. It's up to you whether you want to do that, of course, but I thought the idea might be helpful. -- Auntof6 (talk) 02:27, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
