Hi Huji is this ok? If I use this box? [1] thanks. --Yegoyan 21:06, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you mean to use a box like the one I have on my user page, it is okay. After all, that box on my user page is also part of Wikipedia, and is released under GFDL. So you can copy it :) - Huji reply 21:09, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks man :) --Yegoyan 21:11, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Huji/2007 other[change source]

While you were tabulating the table for most edited articles, I was doing a cleanup on the section as well. We both pretty much came up with the exact same format but took it a slight bit farther and removed the underscores from the links just to make it look a little cleaner. (I also went with Anistasia Nickoleava instead of Grand Dutchess Ani..). A copy of my changes is on my test page if you want to use it's changes. -- Creol(talk) 14:55, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure! I question myself why you didn't do that. This is a wiki, and you're allowed to make such useful edits, for sure. I will move the content now; you can delete it yourself. :) - Huji reply 15:19, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your welcome[change source]

Huji, thanks a lot for your welcome to Simple English Wikipedia. My main interest is to develop the section on the Dominican Republic and I have made several additions or corrections. Because English is not my mother tongue, I hope that you or somebody else could make some corrections; they are welcomed. I work in Spanish Wikipedia, too, but in those pages there is a huge mess and I do not if my contributions will be useful there. So I will keep to Simple English with your help. Thanks. --Jmarcano 19:54, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I've replied on my talk page. --M7 15:07, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Citations in the Dominican Republic article[change source]

Those parts where you put citation needed were not written by me; I found them like that and I have not changed them. I will post a message to see if somebody responds; if not, I will try to rewrite those parts. And yes, I know what is a tongue; I am sorry that I wrote so wrong and, anyhow, thanks for the correction. Now a question: if I want to write about mountains, what would be simpler: mountain range or chain of mountains? I have found both in different articles. --Jmarcano 01:08, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you do not mind - I know I am rarely here but I would not vote if I did not trust these users. I also know from experience how vandalism is reduced with such a tool (my only real interest in it). I also know how hard it is to get 25 users to vote. The majority of these edit from Open Proxies - I have blocked three today on Meta! Regards --Herbythyme 13:56, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Well I think Simple Talk can serve that for now; I find the idea innecessary"[change source]

"Innecessary" is actually supposed to be "unnecessary." Just so you know. Panda Bear | Talk | Changes 04:21, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that could be a typo (U and I are next to eachother) but it wasn't, frankly! I wasn't really sure about which one is correct, and ... not being a native English speaker plus feeling lazy to check a dictionary won't end up any better! Thank you for your informative message. - Huji reply 18:47, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your Persian userpage[change source]

Is this your Persian Wikipedia userpage? Panda Bear | Talk | Changes 19:49, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is an account I created there, to match the nickname I use on other wikis, which is "Huji". It redirects to my real userpage there: fa:User:حجت (read that as "Hojjat", with more pressure on the double "j".) - Huji reply 20:04, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, M7 19:57, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if that is a good idea (in my opinion) since we already have a Wikipedia:Requests for adminship page, and that Creol and M7 had their RfCUs over there. Also since Meta checkuser policy requires at least two users per wiki, we've already passed that milestone (although it looks like a 50/50 chance now if Eptalon will be a checkuser). So after the polling session is over, then all the long debate about checkusers may probably be over for the near future at least. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 02:45, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

*blushing* Sorry about that. --§ Snake311 (T + C) RFA 02:52, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trusting users[change source]

Sorry about the delay to your question about trusting users, but I am merely just trying to play it safe to have an experienced person be our checkuser. Yes I know that M7 is probably the only one with checkuser experience but since this is probably a start for Creol, I withdrew my opposing statement on his RfCU section to the comments subsection, just to be fair since the neutral section was removed. Cheers;) --§ Snake311 (T + C) RFA 02:56, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VGA rotation[change source]

As this would be week 1 in the new 13 article rotation (week 40 overall), it might be a better idea just to let it go back to Article 1 and replace articles 5 through 10 (and adding 11-13) with the newer articles voted in. This would seem easier than modifying the counter to make it think it is week 11 as it would clear out evenly at years end (and the end of each quarter for the most part) making it easier to remember to ensure it is updated in time for the new rotation. -- Creol(talk) 10:40, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I temporarily moved the counter to 11 (by adding -4 there). But feel free to make all those corrections. Meanwhile, I'm updating Wikipedia:Very good articles/by date. Please let me know when you are done. - Huji reply 10:43, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Or, to make it finish faster, tell me what exactly you're gonna do, so I can work parallel with you. - Huji reply 10:47, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like the first SA we had there was Main Page/Article 5 (Chopsticks). I think we should replace 5 through 13 (my current 11 goes to 5, 12 to 6, 13 to 7, and 8-13 filled with new ones). I'll set the counter back to 1.- Huji reply 10:51, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You just set the counter to 1. - Huji reply 10:52, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
At the speed you are working it, I'll just sit back and get out of the way. :) -- Creol(talk) 10:56, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Haha! - Huji reply 10:57, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I reset the counter to not add 1 to each check. This will yeild a 1 to 12 then 0 count. To correct that minor issue, I redirected 0 to 13. India is now, and the rest should work perfectly. -- Creol(talk) 11:35, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So with my recent change, we don't need to redirect 13 to 0. - Huji reply 11:36, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
ps: link
That will work, looks like it is all cleaned up nicely now. Great job. -- Creol(talk) 11:45, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. - Huji reply 12:06, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Emmental (cheese)[change source]

Well, its a region quite close to where I live, and translating what the German WP had was not that hard. The three localities mentioned (together) have less than 30.000 people living in them. Unless you are a farmer you don't really want to live there. Also, some of the industry mentioned has rather ungly buildings standing around in the landscape...- but yes, I do what I can, when I have the time. :) --Eptalon 21:17, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Displacement, Endorphins[change source]

Hello, I replaced the Displacement page with a disambig page; can you have a look please, and if the page stands a chance of not being deleted, we can start to fill the redlinks. On another note, I started a legit stub, Endorphins... Have a nice evening --Eptalon 20:15, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As of Displacement, as soon as one of the redlinks are created, I will withdraw my deletion request. As of Endorphin, as I feel I have lots of them right now, I'll spend some to complete the article! Cheers! - Huji reply 20:18, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the work on Endorphins. You are much better qualified than I am, I guess. --Eptalon 21:05, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Wiki" is not about qualification only. It is about parallel work. Go on and add as much relevant sections and information that you can find/think of. I'll give it a look later, and cite some more sources. - Huji reply 21:07, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Floppy drive[change source]

Why did you do this. Oysterguitarist 15:06, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because I noticed we have a Floppy disk article, which is a better candidate for interwiki with en:Floppy disk, than our newly created Floppy drive article. Please comment about the merge on Talk:Floppy disk. - Huji reply 15:08, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, good thinking. Oysterguitarist 15:10, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you update for the September month? just wondering how last month's performance was:) --§ Snake311 (T + C) 01:24, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking forward a short period of time to spend on it, and add the August and September data. I guess I may manage some time on Friday, when I'm on holiday. Otherwise, I may break it up and do each part every now and then. - Huji reply 11:17, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Hugi :) Thanks for your kind words on my talk page! I'm mostly active on the en Wikipedia, so I'm still trying to get a handle on the VGA criteria. Do Time signature and Mouthpiece (brass) look like they meet the criteria? Happy editing, ( arky ) 18:46, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome :) About the two articles, I think the first needs to be expanded more first, but the second one has the potential. You can propose it on WP:PVGA. - Huji reply 18:51, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and it is Huji, not Hugi. - Huji reply 18:51, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about the name thing (ugh...) and thanks for the reviews! Cheers, ( arky ) 18:56, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An/Al Najaf[change source]

Hello, German media refer to the city as "Najaf" (or transliteration of that into German), so do French Media. If you look at the map (probably CIA World Factbook), it says An Najaf. I am not an Arabic speaker, but I dont know how Al Najaf would have survived, without being alliterated to An...

For my part, I would go with the official name of the city in the local Arabic dialect, and redirect the An Najaf/Al Najaf.. to it.

These are of course just my thoughts, you are probably much better qualified to make that decision. --Eptalon 20:10, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm moving it to Eptalon's talk page and reply there. - Huji reply 20:12, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hidden div[change source]

Actually, I moved the start of the div up a few lines. I tried moving it before the first header, but with it there the page stopped generating a Table of Contents. By placing it just after the header, the ToC shows, but the entire section itself is not displayed. I felt it was better to have one extra heading title show rather than either no ToC (and a screwed up Archives section) or the entire text about the section including the Big link.

As it happens I did screw up and removed the /div tag that closed the RfDheader div by miscounting the number of divs used (nested divs cause me troubles at times) and had to go back and replace that one. Anyone who had div.RfDheader set to not display would have had an odd surprise there. -- Creol(talk) 19:30, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
