My Song-stubs.

Hello there Jamesofur, just wanted to clear something up with you, as you know ChristianRocker90 put my run this town (song) up for quick deletion because it was not of notability, i can understand that but what i can't understand is that you deleted the entry because it had "no content", according to you. I really thought it was just a start in the right direction as a stub, maybe i was wrong in creating this, but I really think it had "some content", very little i can understand that, but sorry to repeat myself, but i must say someone could have looked up some notability on the song and it could have been saved from QD. Anyway, not saying your wrong just was hoping it would stay in the wiki. Thank you for your time. 72.73.95.116 (talk) 05:35, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

hi 72, thanks for the comment back, I actually deleted it as no content because of the length and I wasn't sure it added a lot. I actually disagreed with the notability claim because I thought the fact that it was written and performed by notable people did that for me. However our policy is that anyone can contest a deletion by QD so I'll be happy to restore it for you :). It would be great if you were able to add a little bit more for the song perhaps some comments on what lists its been on or something like that? Jamesofur (talk) 05:39, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
James I would like to explain my noming of the song by QD A4. I nom'd it for QD under that as all song are generally notable usually that's just singles, and the interwiki did not go anywhere. I could find no evidence on Wikipedia is was a single so I nom'd it. Hope this helps.--   CR90  05:42, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notability Issue

I actually added some important notability the second time I created the page. Please read it before you delete it

Help

  • I have a question that you could maybe help me with. Right now "John Piper" is a page with a bunch of red links and one blue link to "John Piper (theologian)". Why can't "John Piper" take you to "John Piper (theologian)" without the red links? It seems silly to have a middle page between the two. --Teneniel (talk) 07:12, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Teneniel, I can totally understand why that would look odd, the main reason we do that is because while not all of the articles are created some of the articles may be of around equal importance (notability whys) to the one that we already have and so its nice to have someone looking for say the artist notice we don't have an article on them yet and maybe they would want to try and make it for us. If your not sure its needed leave a note on the talk page so that people can see it for a couple days and if no one minds you can change it :) Let me know if you have any other questions. Jamesofur (talk) 07:30, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, I think that would be fine :) Jamesofur (talk) 07:36, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Favour

Hi James, if you get a chance could you give this article a quick glance over? It is sort of a difficult topic to write simply, so any advice or criticism that you would have would be appreciated. *hugs*, Kate (talk) 15:50, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, see the talk page for some comments, looks very good so far! Jamesofur (talk) 20:23, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

pp-templates

As requested, here is a list of things for you to do:

  • TW for Commons.
  • Please import this template, and fix anything that needs fixing.
  • Please create a move protection template for semi-move protected.
  • The seal link on the infobox on Hawaii is a redlink but when I remove it, it messes up the template. Also, the Representatives parameter on the template is not working.

Thanks, Griffinofwales (talk) 23:50, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

pp-move done to and tested, yea semi-move isn't really that helpful, I may create a special one later but need time, I would have to rewrite a bit of -meta. James (T|C) 00:13, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ophélie Bretnacher disappearance

Hello,

You deleted the page on Bretnacher Ophélie. Thank you for your comment. I want to say that the page still exists in French,

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oph%C3%A9lie_Bretnacher

and I do not understand why Purpleback89 has taken much to ask for his removal in simple English and also in French. Regarding the French Wiki, they said that the primary source of work was very important, they proposed to give me time to add secondary sources. Also I found today two major summary reports to prime time French television on the subject, I'll add the reference. Also as I don't agree to the deletion of this page, I wonder if it would not be possible for you to give us a delay of 7 days to see what decision the French Wiki will take. Thank you if it's possible ... Best regards --Raymondnivet (talk) 17:33, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I almost started another heading for this, but decided that it fits fine underneath the current one. While I, obviously, disagree with your decision to delete this article, I just wanted to commend you for taking the time to provide as adequate a closing rationale as you did. Seeing your thought process spelled out is something that I appreciate you letting us do. Also, as the person who voted {{delete}} at the en.wiki AfD, I hope that my !vote there did not affect the outcome of this RfD more than was necessary as my !vote there was not as researched nor well-thought out as the one here and I do not believe that goings-on on other projects (such as votes for deletion, etc) should have any more affect here than is absolutely necessary. Katerenka Talk 20:05, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you both for your comments. Raymond: I restored and moved the article to your user space at User:Raymondnivet/Ophélie_Bretnacher_disappearance If you think you can improve it please feel free and me or another admin can move it back out. I would encourage you to specifically focus on trying to explain why its important beyond the actual case itself, to bring it out of the 1 event issue. I would also guess that if it survives in fr others there will have ideas as well on good things to add.

Kate: don't worry I noticed it and thought it was worth noting, more about how complicated it was then anything.

I should also note for the record (which I forgot as another point on my close) that I did think a bit about BLP. While obviously it isn't strictly a BLP there has been a long standing tradition of recently dead being treated, at least partly, as such because of the connections to the living. This does not mean that it can't be an article, just that you should be careful when you talk about other people etc. James (T|C) 23:12, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, okay. That's understandable; thank you for the explanation. Katerenka Talk 23:15, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I redid the paper on Ophelia Bretnacher shortening. By removing the references to Eva Rhodes, demonstrating sociological impact in France in adding 2 secondary sources televisionand to the great story on France 2 television, 13-15 the mag, and a summary article. Thank you kindly tell me what you think and thank you for your kind assistance Best regards--Raymondnivet (talk) 21:14, 20 December 2009 (UTC)This article is encyclopedic because this case, not only has many French touches the common European Erasmus students At the disappearance, Facebook groups about her totaled 60 000 people to date, one year after, it is still 50 000. Petition to President of the Republic, to get answers more than 10 000 signatures; It is notable and is quite conceivable that this case continues and has echoes of Europe to come. Best regards --Raymondnivet (talk) 21:45, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Arbeitmann

Thanks for blocking. Had I been an administrator, I would have blocked myself. Also, if you look here, you'll see that the English Wikipedia also had a vandal by this same name. —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 06:56, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

per Kate; you're indeed better than the other nominee; I'm just hoping your position inside the pico-wiki Committee will soon succeed removing IP access in most of them... even if it would give far less work ;-))) among CUs. Michel Alençon aka ONaNcle (talk) 21:22, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ophélie Bretnacher & Eva Rhodes

Hello Jamesofur,

First, happy New Year

And then the 2 pages Ophélie Bretnacher and Eva Rhodes have been kept after 17 days of discussion for Ophélie on the french Wiki. So I can ask the restauration.

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oph%C3%A9lie_Bretnacher

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eva_Rhodes

The page in simple english is now re-writed and completely different.

Best regards
