RfD nomination of Renaldo Gouws[change source]

An editor has requested deletion of Renaldo Gouws, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2019/Renaldo Gouws and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. Conflict of Interest / Paid Contributions[change source]

As I said on this page, since you have an arrangement to create articles and edit Wikipedia for someone, you'll need to disclose your conflict of interest publicly. You'll also need to review Wikipedia's policy on paid editing and make the necessary disclosures in accordance with that policy as well. For the record, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a political or advertising campaign platform. Any and all living persons must be the criteria for inclusion as well as observe the biographies of living persons policies. Failure on your part to meet any one of these requirements is sufficient cause to block your account from making further edits. You may also want to review this policy before making further edits as well. Operator873talkconnect 22:52, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There might be a bit of confusion here. There is no disclosure of interest as we are the council that are making these requests to wikipedia. It forms part of our job description and we have approval from all councillors that work for the municipality to create one for each of the 60 councillors that currently form the council. So as the municipality we are doing this. I think it's important to note this South African Influencer (talk) 23:00, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please ensure that only one person is using an account, for both policy and copyright reasons. There is also a requirement (Wikimedia ToS) for you to disclose your conflict of interest; it requires nothing other than a note on your user page, which you can create here. Thanks, Vermont (talk) 23:10, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Then you, or you all, are being paid for changing Wikipedia, since it is part of your job. Your employer has to be disclosed publicly. IWI (chat) 23:16, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, I have disclosed it as requested on my page. I hope this will suffice. South African Influencer (talk) 09:27, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Good morning, yes that is exactly what we needed you to do, South African Influencer. IWI (chat) 10:17, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

To answer the concerns raised by Operator873

The person does qualify to be listed due to him meeting the following criteria.

Point three of Notable people under Politicians state: "Major local political figures who have received significant press coverage.[7] Generally speaking, mayors of cities of at least regional importance are likely to meet this criterion, as are members of the main citywide government or council of a major metropolitan city." The councillor has received mainstream media coverage in South Africa for years. I didn't want to include every article but can do so if requested, I just didn't want to spam the article with news clippings.

Under Biographies of living People the piece is written from a "Neutral point of view (NPOV)"
