Good Luck

Good luck becoming an admin! I think I've voted (not sure if I did it right! - can you check?) Terry (talk) 23:58, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Razorflame 23:54, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Your welcome. Terry (talk) 23:58, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
RF you must be clever. Thanking Terry four minutes before he wrote to you :)--Bärliner 00:00, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. :) Razorflame 00:02, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Clever enough to write about the Anarchist Pogo Party of Germany (Anarchistische Pogo-Partei Deutschlands - APPD) or any other redlinks on List of political parties in Germany --Bärliner 00:07, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would if I could open the page. The computer that I'm on has a slow internet when it comes to opening large pages. It takes like 2 minutes to load up a long page. Razorflame 00:11, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck on your RfA:) --§ Snake311 (T + C) 03:40, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Razorflame 03:42, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sultan

Which bit in Sultan needs proving--Bärliner 00:58, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The last sentence. Razorflame 00:59, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You mean "The dynasty and lands ruled by the Sultan are called Sultanate."? Seems a strange thing to want to have proved, bit like the land ruled by a King is a Kingdom. You might just get directed to Brunei.--Bärliner 12:30, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IRC

What do you mean?

I never thought that you applied because of the category thing. But as I said I do not think you are ready, and sadly some votes seem to say you can have the tools by default. I gave examples on the RfA which I did not need to on IRC when we were chatting.--Bärliner 02:34, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll reply to you on IRC. Razorflame 02:39, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:

Thank you for reminding me....--Yegoyan (talk) 02:50, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem :0 Razorflame 02:51, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I removed it anyway. Again. Since I changed my mind.--Yegoyan (talk) 02:53, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your RFA

Not a problem and I was happy to support. I am not a fan of those who use amount of time and edit counts, etc, as reasons to object but it appears there is a feeling that those things have to be done. Personally I'd rather have someone with less experience on the Wiki but a good track record as an admin than someone who has been around for ages, has many, many edits but just gets the mop as a sort of "long service" award! Good luck in the future MindTheGap (talk) 22:54, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • S'all cool Razor, I'm pretty sure that when you apply again, you'll definately be completely fluent, You're a great user and I know I'm not all too experienced myself, but you'll be admin material soon. :-) I.Rosary 23:06, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am waiting until late February to try again. Razorflame 15:56, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Don't feel bad about the RfA it happens everytime, twice for me. Try running again several weeks later when the time is right, by then I'm sure more people will support you. Peace;) --§ Snake311 (T + C) 02:56, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not feeling bad about it. Razorflame 15:56, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Razorflame, You have mover the 1996 film, Romeo + Juliet to the wrong name! The actual film is called 'Romeo + Juliet' See:

I'm going to move it back to it's real name. I.Rosary 16:12, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Darkicebot on sv Wikipedia

Good afternoon/morning,

please run the bot some more so its function can be checked. Some 40 - 50 contributions or so would be fine. Thanks, sv:user:NH 18:18, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for notifying me. I will run him right now :) Razorflame 18:51, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Keeping the bot busy

does darkicebot do de.wiki and nds.wiki.

I could give a litle list of articles to keep it busy :) --Bärliner 20:10, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He has a bot flag on de. Razorflame 20:17, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ask about .nds. Everybody seemss to ignore Plattdüütsch, but most articles there have a de.wiki version and many an en. version too. I have marked some as simple, mostly what I have translated but I am sure there are more.--Bärliner 11:23, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! I can go check out .nds if you want me to. Hold on, I'll go register now Razorflame 15:31, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Babel template

Hi

You said I should organize my "Languages" section into a Babel template, but I have no idea what this is. Could you help me out? Thanks! Leamarie411x2 (talk) 23:11, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Of course! Hold on, I'll go fix it up now. Razorflame 23:12, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

English is my native language, and I am in a French Immersion program at my school.Leamarie411x2 (talk) 23:21, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I've set English as native, and I'll set French to fr-2. Razorflame 23:22, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

???

Problem?--ChristianMan16 23:49, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plenty. Razorflame 23:50, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh do tell. What's you problem with me?--ChristianMan16 23:51, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I will not reply to this message. Please stop messaging me. I will not be involved in this any longer. Razorflame 23:54, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Razorflame I suggest you bring this up at AN please. Oysterguitarist 23:54, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Did. Razorflame 23:54, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In fairness, both of you need to be a little less terse and a little more polite here - Alison 01:50, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Will do in the future. Razorflame 01:51, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks :) - Alison 02:01, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bruker:Razorflame

Moinmoin, leeve Macker. Are you going to be busy in plattdüütsch? --Bärliner 16:01, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As soon as I get home, yeah, I'll run the bot :P Razorflame 16:02, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Painters

Your painter categories need nationalities too....--Bärliner 16:16, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to change them as needed. Razorflame 16:17, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But I wouldn't need to change then if they were created properly. Wikipedia:Categorization --Bärliner 16:22, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I understand. I've been adding nationalities now to the categories :P Razorflame 16:22, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
By nationalities, you mean like Irish people and English people, right? Razorflame 16:22, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But instead of just adding a category take the opportunity to see if other cats are there or if the birth and death could be replaced by {{BD}} which includes the name sorting which is often missing in biography articles--Bärliner 16:42, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I will do this in the future when I categorize stuff :) Razorflame 16:43, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

External websites

Did CB make a mistake or did you just put a note on his page? I thought you put that note after you found a mistake. I would not just put it on someone's page as it sounds like a warning.--Bärliner 17:11, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. I didn't know what it sounded like. I will make sure to use discretion in the future when placing that on user's talk pages. Razorflame 17:12, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Darkicebot

You got the flag on it:wiki. Good work :-) Gac 20:03, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. Thanks for informing me :) Razorflame 20:38, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Razor, I'm often in #wikia, #wikia-de and #wikiversity. I am on vacation in Spain right now, I will be back in the US on Friday. Happy to meet you.

I am looking forward to learning a little Simple English. - Dan Dank55 (talk) 21:10, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

Hello there, when you look at the categories of pages: If a page has more than one category, the categories should be such that if a page is in a certain category (let's say, A); that no parents of A are listed (in other words: push down as far as possible in the tree, but do not list parent categories). Thanks --Eptalon (talk) 21:11, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you are referring to my changes in the Cities of xyz state categories, I was merely categorizing them as en:WP categorizes these. Razorflame 21:13, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What ENWP does does not matter, especially if it conflicts with what is already set up--Bärliner 16:30, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, feel free to revert them as needed. Razorflame 17:12, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know if they need changing or not. But eptalon gave you advice. Saying that you did what ENWP does makes it sound as if you have just leapt in without thinking. I bet that is not the impression you meant to give. If you can justify you changes and they fit in with WP:CAT why not do it
The reason why I made the changes to those categories was because it made sense. Why have them link directly to Cities in the United States, when they are obviously cities of the united states by state? Razorflame 17:19, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Asteroid categories

Thanks for helping out with the asteroid categories Lights (talk) § 21:54, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem. I knew you would need help :) Razorflame 21:55, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You can come and help me out anytime, just not if it involves only one page, since we'd be getting in to a lot of edit conflicts. Cheers, Lights (talk) § 21:56, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I knew you'd need help on this because you have several hundred pages to go through :) Razorflame 21:57, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bot on cawiki

Please, make some more edits on cawiki to grant bot flag. Usually about 50 edits are enough. --Vriullop (talk) 13:24, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. I will make some more edits as soon as possible. Thanks for notifying me swiftly. Razorflame 13:56, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

sigs

A link and refs to Wikipedia:Signatures would be useful, so people do not try to long a sig, or put images in--Bärliner 18:39, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are right. I will put those in right now. Razorflame 18:39, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have commented out the names of potentional help, to give you a chance to ask if they mind. I don't, BTW. Also I have changed your name to "user:example" , just to keep the third person. Apart from that I suggest mocing it to mainspace and advertising it on simple talk as available for change and comment. --Bärliner 19:01, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I realized that as soon as I posted it that I would have to edit out my name, and I have just moved it into the mainspace. I changed that part about those peoples' names to something like this: You can always ask any editor on here for help!. Thanks for the help. Razorflame 19:02, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Most Haunted

Hey Razor. I see you've been editing the most hanuted page. There is another show, called 'Ghost Hunting with ...' which is also presented by Yvette Fielding. it is done with celebrities. like the other week, it was 'Ghost hunting with Girls Aloud' or 'Ghost Huinting with The Radio 1 team' I think It may come under the 'sister shows' section, but I'm not 100% on it, only abouth 80%. I didn't want to add it, just incase it wasn't but, yeah: - ) IuseRosary (talk) 20:06, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I do remember seeing it on the page whilst I was working on it. Go ahead and create it if you would like. Razorflame 20:08, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:back!!

I was ill (a terrible cold!) and I had a lot of homework and tests at school because of the report card. I hope I'm really back. Katiusha (tell me) 20:25, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Let us hope so as well :P Razorflame 20:25, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You said me, what's us now? :P Katiusha (tell me) 20:32, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was referring to both you and me :P Razorflame 20:33, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see... Katiusha (tell me) 20:36, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anarchopedia

I removed your requst for quick deletion of Anarchopedia. The reason you provided was "possible advertisement" which is not a good candidate for quick deletion, specially when we see the page exists in some other Wikipedias. Of course, if you think the page in its current form does not belong to our Wikipedia, you can request for its deletion. Cheers, - Huji reply 15:45, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have posted an RfD for this page. Razorflame 23:23, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. --Gwib -(talk)- 16:33, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I'll add your name now. Razorflame 17:17, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cutting and pasting. Naughty. User_talk:Tygrrr#Help:Making_a_signature :) --Bärliner 17:25, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What? Would you rather me spend time writing out whole questions? I would rather work on making this Wikipedia better than worry about spending time asking the same question in many different ways. Razorflame 17:26, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well you could at least get the names right. The message addressed (presumably) to Tygrrr says "Eptalon". --Gwib -(talk)- 17:29, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oops! I'll go change it :P Razorflame 17:30, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

I have deleted the part that u fond wrong,"anarhcopedia called itself...,so i removed the stub, wasn't spam,i just translated the articles from the italian wikipedia,in english,(and surely i have made errors, and im sorry for this). Italy90

It is against policy to remove RfD tags from articles that you have created. Razorflame 19:10, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ehm sorry i didn't have bad ideas,sorry i don't know what is RFD i hope u arne't angry with me,im really sorry but i can't understand everything in english :(. Italy90

Honest Question

Do you think there should be a section in image policy that allows certin images to be uploaded to this Wikipedia? May be a template to go with it that marks it?--ChristianMan16 19:24, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I currently abide by the image policy completely. I think that it is necessary because of how small we are. Until we get bigger, I will have to say that we will have to keep it as it is right now. Hope you understand my reasoning. Razorflame 19:25, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Small? No we aren't. Over 24,000 articles you call that small? I think policy needs to change.--ChristianMan16 19:38, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We are small in terms of the number of editors that are currently active on this site. We only have about, maybe, 30-40 active editors. That's small. Razorflame 19:41, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, I'd be more than willing to make signatures for new users. Lights (talk) § 22:33, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. I'll add you to the list. Razorflame 23:14, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the concensus was there. --Bärliner 23:21, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the concensus was there as well. I tried one last time to get him to change his ways, and he didn't. So, unfortunately, he had to be blocked. Razorflame 23:25, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but I'm making this involve me...

...at least when it comes to his block-evading cause that's what got me banned from English. I don't want the same for him. I currently trying to appeal my bann on english.--ChristianMan16 23:45, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is better if neither of you speak to a banned user. Unless you which to encourage block evasion. A banned user can communicate with any admin to ask about having the block withdrawn that is all.--Bärliner 23:51, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can see the logic behind your answer Barliner, and will not talk to him anymore. Razorflame 00:07, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
