Shortcuts

CheckUser is the process of checking information about two or more users (including named users and IPs). Special users are able to check if two or more accounts have been used from the same computer. These users also see User agents. This can help them decide if two accounts are related in the way described above. It is also possible to see if a user is editing from an open proxy.

On this page, users can request some users or IPs to be checked. Good reasons should be given for why a checkuser is needed; you should provide links which show the questionable edits, etc. Questions should usually be created so that they can be answered by yes or no. Responses will be short in order to comply with Wikipedia privacy policy. Sensitive information (like the IP addresses used by an account) are usually not reported. The results are not always clear, and a decision should not be made only on the basis of checkuser results.

Use of the tool[change source]

This tool is to be used to fight vandalism, to check for sockpuppet abuse, and to limit disruption of the project. It must be used only to prevent damage to the project.

The tool should not be used for political control; to apply pressure on editors; or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to check a user. Note that alternative accounts are not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of the policies (for example, to vote more than once or to make it look like more people support an idea). Checkusers will refuse a request, if the reason for checking is not good enough to warrant the use of the tool.

A recent post drew my attention to the likely possibility that they are the same person. See [8] The first user is also doing a lot of work within the users userspace. Since the page Parvej Husen Talukder has been repeatedly deleted (G5), I cannot see the creation logs. A user created Parvej Husen Talukder (poet) which was also deleted under G5. The account above was just created and their only edit was this Wikipedia:Deletion review#Parvej Husen Talukder (poet). Since CUs have access to the logs, they should be able to see the accounts and if any other user (perhaps @MathXplore) has the account names, they are free to add them. @Eptalon The 3 (including the 2nd IP and the two named accounts) are all CU blocked already. I wasn't sure what to do with it since they are all related based on changes. I know you cannot comment on the IP, but based on the matches with the other 3, I felt it better to post here rather than VIP since CUs have higher access. I also know they are both exiting through AU, which may also be a proxy (since they come through Cloudflare and on VPNs). Editor just started editing here with a direct copy of an ENWP article. They were also checkuser blocked on ENWP then resorted to threats and legal actions. Digital marketing editors[change source]

These three accounts all have very similar edit histories of adding unreliable sources like YouTube channels or websites to Digital marketing. To me, it looks like these people are adding their accounts and websites to the article to advertise their random crap, so definitely a conflict of interest. Vanderpumpstan[change source]

Enujrecneps was blocked at the end of February as a Vanderpumpstan sock. A couple of weeks later, the account Bobelcnu was created and in a short few weeks, made over 1000 edits including recreating the article Ken Todd which is a major goal of Vanderpumpstand socks.[10] Bobelcnu created the Vanderpump Villa article, after the block Bobelcnu is heavily editing that article. CU actually shows that there is no overlap IP wise (we are in a range where two of the four IPv4 addresses match, so 65k. possible addresses). @FusionSub We can request an IP against a username. They can check the ip and other options. They cannot comment on the IP though. The named account was indef by a checkuser. We cannot list a whole group of IPs as that would be fishing. But we are allowed to request it none the less. The behavior was specifically the same from the IP and the named editor. Both are brand new accounts. The first account edited Carrie Underwood and when I noticed the username, I posted on their talk page to request a name change with links to both our username policy and a link to global rename request Diff. The next thing I see is a new account (the 2nd one) being created and editing the exact same article. I am pretty sure they are the same editor  Looks like a duck to me. This user just created their account, however, the articles they are editing have not been touched in a while. Numerous IPs were editing it and they all ended up being blocked by User:Vermont for long term abuse. The behavior of this editor matches that of the IP as they are making many small changes over a long period of time. Due to the changes they are making on the couple of articles I’m of the belief they are related to the blocked IP listed as follows (I understand comments cannot be made about IPs by a CU):

I think the users page User:Beautiful than the BEAUTIFUL pretty much says it all. They admit they are blocked and creating many accounts. On the user page they have “How many times do you bully me here?” Btw they admit on the talk page that the other account is theirs and they are here “…I just want to report MathXplore he want to delete someones Article”. Hello all, let me clarify two things: 'That fungi' last edited almost a year ago, so, likely, there is no CU data. So even with the best of intentions, I couldn't run a checkuser, and get useful information to compare with. Secondly, a few months back, PorsdamLamb appealed to his block. In the course of that appeal, the admins thoroughly evaluated the options. In the end, it was decided to re-admit PotsdamLamb to the project.
