From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Notable Middle East is part of a huge Content creation project at NUCT University. NUCT have its own Mediawiki systems, where the students submit at least one article (video, an audio content sometimes) in order to pass each class. The project was designed to generate Arabic articles cause online Arabic content needs to be boosted. During the past two years, the students generated more than 20,000 articles. Starting last semester, the University modified the project in order to produce English content. The English articles will focus on the Middle East, mostly Jordan. The students will have almost zero interaction with Simple. A group of us (usually me) will hand pick the "OK" articles, copy them here, add links and categories. Content is already PD, so it will fit within the CC-BY-SA.3.0. No links to the University website is required or expected.

There is no time limit for the project. we have a total of 3000 students working on the main project, 150 of them opted to work on the English articles.
