Shimon L. Dolan (born October 20, 1947 in Nes Ziona, Israel) is a full professor and dean of research at the Advantere School of Management, which is part of Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid, Spain . He served as a professor at McGill University and the University of Montreal in Canada, and as a professor on behalf of [[]] [Ramon Llull], Barcelona, Spain [1], in the field of organizational psychology and human resource management [2] . He wrote about 80 books, which were translated into 10 languages, and over 170 articles in his field of expertise [3] . ZZZZZZZ

He also serves as the chairman of the International Association for the Future of the World of Work (GFWF) [4] .ZZZZZZZ

Born to Holocaust survivor parents in Poland : David [5], who worked as a doctor in the Negev Kibbutzim, and Lola, who was a beautician. grew up in Beit Eshel, and later in Nes Ziona . ZZZZZZ

He served in the IDF as a combat medic in the Armored Corps [6] . ZZZZZZZ

Shimon's younger brother, Avishai Landau, followed in his footsteps, graduated with a master's degree in the department of labor studies at Tel Aviv University.

Studies[change | change source]

In 1968, upon completion of his military service, Dolan studied for a graduate degree at Tel Aviv University and was qualified in 1971 [7] . ZZZZZZZZZ

Between the years 1971-1973, he continued for a qualified degree in the department of work studies with a specialization in human resource management and at the same time studied for a master's degree in organizational behavior at the Leon Recanati School for Graduates in Business Administration Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content . While studying for an accredited degree, he received a recommendation to move to the University of Minnesota, in the United States and continue his studies in a direct accredited path to a doctorate. He studied at the University of Minnesota between 1973-1977. Received a qualified degree in 1976 and a doctorate in 1977 in the field of organizational psychology and human resource management [8] . Acadamic research[change | change source]

In his studies at the Mayo Clinic [9] [10], he discovered that almost 90% of the patients who survived their first heart attack and had no history of coronary heart disease, attributed the heart attack to their work situation and especially to work stress [11] . ZZZZZZZZZ

Management based on values[change | change source]

The triple value model

At the same time, he developed the management model " Management by values ", which deals with shaping organizational culture through the identification of the most important values for the organization [12] [13] . The model identifies three groups of values, and initially tries to identify the system of interrelationships between them: ethical values, economic values and emotional-passionate values in a triangular structure ("the Dolan 3-Es Triaxial Model of Values") [14] [15] . Already in this model, the value of trust (Trust) was identified as a "value of values" (mega-value) which is a central axis for ethical leadership, and the need of the organization's people for leadership that balances work needs with family needs and proactively prevents situations of chronic stress was identified. At the same time, he developed the management model "Stress Management and Attrition" (The Stress Map) which deals with mapping the sources of stress and attrition, the intervening variables and their physiological and psychological characteristics, thereby enabling individuals, families and organizations to develop resilience in the matter in order to lead an optimal lifestyle. Between the years: 1978-2002 he served as a professor at McGill University and the University of Montreal in Canada, taught and was a guest lecturer during sabbatical years at the following universities: University of Montreal, McGill University in Canada, Boston University, University of Colorado in the United States and Tel Aviv University [15] .

In 2022 he was appointed full professor and dean of research at the Advanteure School of Management, which is part of Comillas University ( Madrid, Spain.ZZZZZZZZZ

He served as an evaluator in the "Committee for Research Funding for the Government of Quebec - Society and Culture" (FCAR), in the "Research Funding for Health and Safety of the Government of Belgium " committee, in the Health and Welfare Canada committee and in the Hong Kong Research Committee Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content . He also assisted the IAS (in France) and the National Science Foundation of Israel. In Spain he served as an assessor in the Ministry of Education and Science of Spain . He also advised on the development of the research policy program, at the Ministry of Health in the United Kingdom, was a member of the evaluation committee of the Social Research Fund in Quebec belonging to the Ministry of Education of the Government of Quebec [16] [17], and was also a member of the Quebec Research Institute on Health and Safety at Work (IRSST), And also in the Social and Human Research Council of Canada [18] . In the 1980s, together with Professor Dov Elitzur, he founded the International Society for the Study of Work and Organizational Values (ISSWOV). The purpose of the association was for scientists from Eastern Europe (the communist bloc) to meet with their colleagues from the West and discuss values. ZZZZZZZZZ

Business Consulting[change | change source]

In 1978 he founded in Montreal an international consulting corporation in the field of human resource management based on values, called Gestión MDS Inc or MDS Management Inc, which is dedicated to the training and education of French-speaking West African managers, helping managers to be more efficient and effective while at the same time reducing corrupt behavior [19] [20] . The company has offices in Montreal (Canada) and Rabat ( Morocco ) and works in close cooperation with the World Bank and other African financial institutions. ZZZZZZZZZ

In 2017 he founded the e-Merit Academy, the academy for the development of managers in the age of globalization, digital and cyber [22] . ZZZZZZZZZ

Since 2018, his consulting activity has been concentrated through Gestion MDS Management Inc (MMontreal) and the Global Future of Work Foundation (GFWF), where he holds the position of president [21] [22] . ZZZZZZZZZ

Serves as the president of the "Center for Management and Training by Values", which is a representative office in Israel of his Canadian consulting company Gestion MDS Inc [23] . ZZZZZZZZZ

Prof. Dolan also serves as the president and academic director of the Israeli Center for Values in Israel, and in this context he was involved in the publication of a number of non-fiction books and management models in Israel and in a number of volunteer activities for the Arab society and the Ethiopian community in Israel. Prof. Dolan also accompanies the Israeli Center for Values in its activities through the Education Corps to inculcate values among the various IDF units. ZZZZZZZZZ

In 2018 he founded the international association for the study of the organizations of tomorrow - Global Future of Work Foundation (GFWF) and he heads the association in the position of president of the association. ZZZZZZZZZ

In addition, they have published more than 170 articles in scientific journals as well as chapters in books. He was a member of the editorial staff of several publications (such as Emerald Group and Wiley, HEC Montreal ). He was an editorial member of many scientific journals. In 2011 he received Emerald's Best Editor Award. In the 2020 edition of Expo coaching, he was nominated for the best book award in coaching, for his book "Coaching por Valores" [28] . ZZZZZZZZZ

In 2012, Dolan left his place of residence in Montreal and moved to Barcelona. ZZZZZZZZZ
