Hey!

Still awaiting that review at WP:PGA! ;) –Juliancolton | Talk 21:05, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm getting to it dude! RL is incredibly busy, sorry! Goblin 00:14, 2 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ GoblinBots!

Politeness

Avoid comments like this in the future. fr33kman talk 02:15, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

I'll consider it; No, the day they are blocked the day i'll avoid comments. Goblin 09:52, 2 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Juliancolton!
So I take it you consider yourself above the rules, then? fr33kman talk 14:32, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
The former I do not believe I violated, so that's that one blown out the window, and the latter, there's only so much one can AGF. Eventually users don't get any more AGF because the are persistantly doing pointless actions. Mythdon, along with 4 others, has surpassed this long ago. Goblin 14:35, 2 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Shappy!

New Articles

I know you were probably in a rush but when making new articles like Campus radio or Pro Tools please don't just copy the lead paragraph and the categories from the EN article. This leaves many redlinks and they can often be quite complex, which kind of defeats the point of this being simple. I know you've been around here a while, and I don't mean to nag, but a little bit of simplification wouldn't go a miss. FSM Noodly? 15:27, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm going to pretend that you didn't write this. Go find something better to do such as, err, making your own articles? Or helping new people? Or even better, become a troll PA - i.e tell users such as Griffinofwales, Mythdon and Purplebackpack (ok, not "such as", just those three) exactly what they want to know all the time instead of them constantly asking ridiculous questions on AN. Really, do you not have anything better to do than tell me what I can and can't do. GTFO. Goblin 16:49, 2 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Kennedy!
I'm being perfectly civil here and you accuse me being of being a troll? I'm simply pointing out some of your articles were copied directly from the EN wikipedia, which is generally not accepted here. So yes, I do have better things to do, but clarifying the rules is something that has to be done. Your finding offence where there was absolutely none intended. FSM Noodly? 17:03, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
No, i'm not calling you a troll. Furthermore, I think you need to re-read the rules yourself. Copying directly from en generally IS accepted, provided that correct attribution is given and that it is simplified. While I will admit that I had not done either, my "excuse" is that my rabbit's eye had once again started bulging and we rushed to take her to the vet. THat's kinda more important than a silly little wiki. I planned to do it when I get back. Now I don't feel like I want to. Goblin 17:06, 2 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ GoblinBots!
Hey guys. Take it easy! All you're doing is flooding RC (applies to section below too!). Just go back to editing :) Yotcmdr =talk= 17:10, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Your edits...

are going to be not nice like this one (which Pmlinediter fixed already because I forgot about it). Look at the sections above and at your recent edits on PVGA. If you go on to make such comments, I will report you to AN for miss behaviour. There is always a nice way to say it... Barras (talk) 17:00, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Block

I have blocked you for a period of one month due to your interactions with other editors. When you the block has expired you are welcome to start editing again but must do so in a manner respectful of others. fr33kman talk 18:41, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Statement

Ok. I thought I should make a statement about recent events. This isn't meant to make excuses, change minds or anything else; it's more just something for me to say to put my mind at rest.

Today and in the past I've said many things that I should not have done. I've broken many Wikipedia policies and have acted in direct contrast to the whole ethos of Wikipedia. I've been too easily wound up by things and have exploded over nothing, taking things way out of proportion. Instead of walking away or ignoring people I've let them get to me and have gone on and on to the point where I'm sure I've badly offended some people.

I won't detail my RL circumstances here - if anyone is particularly interested my email and IRC channel is available - but I will say is that this has been a largely contributory factor to my attitude in general over the past few months.

What's caused me to write this was an event that happened this evening. Regardless of the above paragraph I will say that I do regularly contemplate suicide (don't bother trying to tell anyone, there's nothing you can do and several people know already) and have attempted several times; today/tonight being one (unrelated to WP goings-on I hasten to add). Well, nearly. I won't bore you with the details but I just started thinking and said to myself "Jack, what the hell are you doing with your life? Why are you offending people for no reason? Why are you letting people get the better of you instead of ignoring them?". I realised that I have been acting like a childish baby [possibly oxymoron, oh well] in the context of Wikipedia and can fully understand why so many of the users, err, dislike [not too strong?] me because of my actions. I've been doing exactly what i've been (trying) to tell others not to - basically, I've not been following or making the example that I want to set to other users and have been using the exact sort of behaviour that I want to get rid of on this wiki. Imo a one month block is not enough for what i've done, but that's you, the community's, call to make, not mine.

Ok, so I've made some pretty big mistakes, but who hasn't? At this point I just ask you all to think about yourself for a moment; think what you were like as a 16 year old teenager, and then add in two deaths, massive bullying and a whole lot more (so much for no personal issues) and you might come close to what my life has been like. As I say, i'm not making excuses, just trying to make myself feel better I guess.

I'm now going to take time to publicly apologise to a rather large number of users individually. It's all for different things, but they all deserve the apology nonetheless imo. If you require anything to be clarified, be it aimed at you or not, then please ask away and I'll respond in due course - though once the last section is posted I'll be disappearing for a while, so no guarantees it will be in my usual timely manner. In no particular order:

  • Flying Spaghetti Monster: Sorry about earlier, as I mentioned I took my rabbit to the vets (she is still there and may have her eye removed, I find out tomorrow) and so was quite upset. Since my mum died my rabbit has kind of been my connection so this is quite an emotional time for me at least. Your message(s) were the first that I saw after getting back and instead of stepping away or doing something else I made some badly phrased messages. While I do think that it was unnecessary to "lecture" me as if I was a newbie (that's how I interpreted it) I do understand why you made the messages; perhaps in future make it more a reminder that I started some articles that need a bit of work, rather than shoving policy and the like in my face? Oh, and welcome back :)
  • The Rambling Man: You deserve better from me dude. All the things you've helped me with, I've thrown it all back in your face this evening. I don't deserve your help in the future, be it articles, life or anything. I've just been a complete idiot and have let you down. Sorry dude.
  • Barras: On the whole, I think you're a great editor and an asset to this project. While it's true I do sometimes think that you're a bit hasty, aggressive and seem to change your mind and rush things along a bit - this might be the language barrier, I don't know. I admire people who speak english lots when it is their second/third/fourth etc language - your heart is in the right place and that's what matters, so I'm sorry if I've offended you in anyway and I hope that we can get back to where we were earlier in the year.
  • Yotcmdr: I've probably caused you a fair bit of grief along the way and I probably shouldn't have done that. You've supported me through a hell of a lot and thank you :)
  • Pmlinediter: I'm sorry about earlier today and for letting you down as well. You too have put your neck on the line and I've repaid that by letting you down. You've always helped me when I've asked and I never feel as if I've repaid that. Sorry.
  • Fr33kman: Where to start on this one? Once again you've stuck your neck out on the line for me and I've let you down on that. We're talking quite a bit privately and I feel I'm only ever shoving your help back in your face. I appreciate what you're doing for me and I'm not handling it as well as I should be; just thanks for being there :)
  • Microchip08: And another one. Ditto most of the above three to you. I've run out of ways of saying the above differently, sorry!
  • Juliancolton: I don't know why, but something is telling me I've let you down as well. So again, ditto above.
  • Majorly: As above.
  • PeterSymonds: As above. And the fact that I'm sorry for not lolling at you enough ;)
  • Griffinofwales: It's taking me a long time to write this one. As I'm sure you know there are things that I dislike about your editing patterns and I've been pretty vocal about that in the past. However I continually fail to appreciate that you do lots of excellent work on the 'pedia and are, overall, a net positive to the project. Since joining you've learnt an awful lot and taken loads on board, and I respect you for that. I'm sorry for many of things that I've said and done towards you and apologise for doing so. You do lots of great vandal reversion and one day I have every faith that you will make a good administrator. I'm not just trying to fluff my comments out by saying this, I genuinely do mean it. Stick at it and you'll make a good editor. I hope we can put things behind us and move forwards, perhaps even collaborate on an article or two in the future. If you ever need to ask anything dude, my door is open. I do of course appreciate that you may not wish to owing the history, and that's totally fine. There's a lot of people out there who are still... cautious... of you, but I'm no longer one of them and think you have a lot to offer. Hang in there.
  • Kennedy: No idea if you'll see this or not, but you're probably the person whom I owe the biggest apology to - I therefore have no idea why I missed you out first time round :S. You've helped me, stuck up for me, been there for me and always supported me on wiki even though there have been times, looking back, when it would have been much easier for you to have not supported me and caused you less hassle/grief. I've thrown most if not all of that back in your face, and I add you to the list of people who I've let down.
  • Purplebackpack89: I was going to leave this one for now, but it appears you're online so seems appropriate. We've clashed a fair amount recently, and I think it's safe to say most, if not all, of the clashes have been "in the name of the wiki" - i.e. we're both defending what we think is best for the wiki. While I don't think either of us handled it particularly well I'll admit that it is largely my fault and I escalated things more than they should have been. I believe that you have potential to be a good content creator and editor and my offer of help is still there. I still believe that with the right work put in Biden can be made a VGA, as can other articles that you have worked on. If at all possible I'd like to put previous events behind us and move along and start again. While I do think that there are some things that you do that are a bit off, upon reflection I accept that we all make mistakes and I can understand why you've acted how you have done. Indeed, I see a lot of myself in you, perhaps that's why we've clashed a fair bit. But whatever, if you need help I'm here. Just don't hold grudges, they are bad for your health.
  • Mythdon: I'd like to apologise to your for blowing up in your face a few times when you've asked innocent questions without meaning anything negative. I shouldn't have done that and seemed to forget about AGF. That said, I want to say the same to you as I have to Griffin and Purple: please do think before posting something as to whether it's really necessary to be in such a public place, and whether you need to pull old threads up. I'm not saying don't as that's not my place, i'm just trying to give a friendly tip that many more people will get along with you if you focus on what you're going to say before saying it. But remember, my door is always open if you do need to ask anything, so i'm happy to help.
  • Christianrocker90: Our conflict (or probably my conflict, whatever) goes back the longest out of most if not all of the above. I'd like to apologise for a recent spout of ABF coming from me about your unblocking, and i'd like to say that I wish you all the best in your unblocking and hope that you've matured and moved on from six months ago. I certainly feel from our IRC conversations that you have, but I guess the real test will come when you are back editing; and then it's up to the community and not me as to what happens. Yes, I made your original block. Was it justified? With the advantage of hindsight yes I still believe that it was warranted, but don't think that an indef was the right way to go about it. So i'd also like to apologise for that. You've made some great contributions to the encyclopedia, in particular to wrestling articles, and i'd like to see much more of that, but hope that in these six months you've learnt to keep most of your POV problems to yourself from now on, as that was ultimately the biggest factor of them all. But I have every faith that you have changed, and also think that you too can make admin one day, if that's what you wanted.
  • Jamesofur: This is probably another unneeded one, but i'd like to add my public apologies to you to James, as there have been times when you've been trying to help and i've blown up in your face, so sorry dude.

I think that's everyone. There are four users I've left off on purpose for now as I'm going to write something up a bit longer; bare with me. I will probably add to this though...

As I say, I'm not making excuses, I'm not, to use my own words, "coming across all nice whilst a review happens", my life has generally been put into perspective tonight and quite frankly I've treated you all like dirt.

If you want to unblock me, then you have my word I'm a changed user, I'm also happy to sign up to restrictions and a one-strike rule indefinitely if need be. If you want me to stick it out for a while, then that's what i'll do. If you want me to stick it out for longer, be my guest. I really couldn't care, but whatever happens I want to try and make up with you all and get back to how things were when I joined a year ago. I don't want you to all be disliking me, but I understand if you do.

In short guys, I've been a complete idiot and done things that I regret doing. I re-iterate that I'm not after outright forgiveness, I'm not trying to sweep it under the carpet, I'm not trying to make excuses, I'm simply trying to say that I've made a mistake and I'm owning up to it and attempting to move forwards from it. I'm sure someone said that it's experiences like these that change you; or maybe I'm imagining it, hey-ho.

Thanks guys.

BG, I fully understand that you're going through difficult times right now. My e-mail's always open if you want to chat, and I'll be more than happy to help in any way I possible can. Whilst I obviously think you're an excellent contributor, to be honest, I suggest taking a break from wiki for a while. The last thing you need is more frustration, and what better way to find that than editing a wiki? Personally, I think you've learned your lesson and can be unblocked, though I'll defer to the community on that. Either way, keep your chin up. –Juliancolton | Talk 23:34, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks JC :) Rest assured that regardless of any outcome i'll be stepping away for a few days and clearing my head. Ideal case scenario for me would be the block lifted sometime next week, but that's up to the community. I don't want to influence the decisions made in anyway, i'm happy for whatever happens to happen and will accept & move on. As I said above when I do get back i'm happy to be placed on any restrictions the community decides, though i'll try and stick to my self-imposed rules more too. That kinda broke down over the last week :S Cheers, Goblin 00:33, 3 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Yotty!

Ditto. Take a break, I really do know how tough some of the things you're going through (have gone through) can be. Feel free to mail me. The Rambling Man (talk) 12:48, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Again, I feel I need to. I'll be taking a break once i'm done with this statement thing (because I know I won't be able to keep away until i've said what I feel I need to say, regardless of how others feel about it. You might see it as unnecessary, you might see it as attention seeking. It's not meant as the latter, and I really do feel that I owe this to the community. Ignore it if you wish. But again, thanks dude :) Goblin 23:07, 3 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Fr33kman!
I did notice :) Even when I'm not editing, I'm watching... Anyway, you don't owe me an apology, you've never thrown anything back in my face, in fact I feel guilty for not doing the things I said I would (not an excuse, but awfully hectic). As above, feel free to talk, you have me on MSN, so when I'm around give me a shout. Regards bud, Kennedy (talk • changes). 19:16, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Yay, Kennedy lives :D Seriously dude, I felt I owed it to you so I wrote it. Do with it what you will. But thanks :) Goblin 23:07, 3 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Fr33kman!

AN Responses

Yes, i'll break eventually, promise!

Ok, I felt I should explain & clear up a few of the things that have appeared on AN over the past 24 hours or so.

The main thing that I feel that needs response are the "oh, but he's done this before" comments. I'd like to point you towards the archives and review what i've said. You'll see that they are mainly sarcastic comments along the lines of "yeh yeh whatever i'll do it now gtfo my talk" or words to that effect. They have not been "honest yes-i-really-do-mean-this" style stuff like the above statement. It's of course down to you the community but I would like to just make it known that the "motives" and tone of the messages varies differently, and I do mean this. Why else would I be willing to go with a 1-strike rule, editing restrictions and the like? So that I can purposefully go against them and get indef blocked? That's for you to decide.

Another point is Julian's comments about blocks. As admins and future admins (as I believe most if not all users of this wiki will become one eventually) you should know that blocks are to prevent and not to punish - this is why we don't block days after VIP reports for instance. Regardless of what I say it's up to you to interpret the rules as you will and block as you please, but I would like to point out that, if I do say so myself - though others have said it, that my contributions are a net gain to the encyclopedia and that is actually hurting the encyclopedia more than me being blocked... or something like that, i'm not the best at expressing myself. I'd also just like to say to those people supporting a month or longer block but not wanting to lose my contributions that firstly you are losing them and secondly it's highly likely that i'll just move on from Wikipedia altogether. I'm stretched thinly timewise as it is and it would be easier to drop something - and not being able to contribute somewhere for a month easily makes your mind up. But as I say, i'm not trying to influence a decision in anyway, i'm simply commenting on what has been said and giving my take on the events as I see them.

Finally, I reply to the latest "rules are rules" thing. If I could really be bothered (and I can't) there are lots of examples I could pull up of rules clearly not being followed and being blockable/restrictable offences - and that's from IPs, users and administrators alike. I'm sure there are a few 'crats, OSers and CUs in there too. I want to re-iterate at this point i'm not trying to defer anything, excuse what i've done, sway decisions etc. I'm simply commenting on the events and it's up to you whether you listen and take it into account or completely ignore it. Also on this topic IAR - when applied correctly as many people do not - is a very clear example of rules are not rules, and I think in the context of WP that's never really that clear.

Ok, so to summarise/conclude, i'm not saying that you should unblock me just because ive issued an x000 byte statement. I'm not saying you you should unblock me just because i'm (as some people have put it) a crucial member of the community. What i'm saying is that yes, i've made mistakes, but i've accepted them, admitted to them and given my word that it's not going to happen again. Am I telling the truth? That's for you to decide, but I would like you all to assume good faith if at all possible. Also, think back across your life. How many mistakes have you made? How many things do you regret doing? I would expect that everyone has at least one. Events that happened separate from Wikipedia and the block put my life into perspective last night and that's what made me issue the statement. Not because I had to. Not because I want to be back that desperately, but because I felt that I had, to put it bluntly, a complete and utter idiot and owed you all the decency and respect of an apology. It's not meant to influence anything. It's not meant to pursuade people otherwise, neither is this. It was written completely separate of the events on wiki yesterday. Whether you believe me or not is up to you - whether you believe anything i've said is up to you - but I would just like to once again make the point that this is extremely different to all previous "statements" that i've made and the intention behind this is simply to apologise and try and move on and re-gain the community's trust and respect, not to get back editing as soon as possible to continue slagging off other editors and their contributions as I did in the past. Again, it's completely up to you as to what you think. But when it all comes down to it, imo at least, blocking me for a month is not gaining anything - especially when it's crystal clear that even if/when I get unblocked there's going to be some form of zero-tolerance policy whether I like it or not.

Just my 2p, probably not come out how I meant it and is probably much longer than I meant it to be. Sorry about that.

Goblin 23:38, 3 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Nifky!

Please read the whole of what I have to say before you reply.

Clearly you are trying to influence peoples decisions otherwise you would have put the apologies and left it at that. Saying that you aren't trying to do so, repeatedly, when all the rest of the text shows you are is just shooting yourself in the foot. However - I understand you are going through a tough time and that can sometimes mean you are less than civil with people without intentionally doing so. I understand this and accept your apology. I promise you I did not intend for it to be like I was 'lecturing' you, I have read through my comments again and can't see anything condescending or patronising about it, I was simply giving you a suggestion as to how you can improve your article writing. I am hardly an impartial judge here nor have I been back long enough to have a clear picture, so I am not going to get any further involved in discussions regarding the length of your block. I, like most other users on this site, would like to see you back editing constructively here, whether that be in a months time or one week. So good luck to you, in whatever you choose to do, and I hope the tough times you are going through end soon, and in a way that makes you happy :) Now lets just try to put this all behind us and get back to what we're here for, making a quality encyclopedia =] FSM Noodly? 00:09, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

I've read and re-read your reply per your request, though I do so anyway :) If you're interpreting my postings as trying to influence people then that's your choice and i'll leave that to you as it's not my place to say otherwise. However, I can state that my intention behind the above message is not to try and sway the decision in anyway - if I wanted to sway things then I could & would have worded it a lot differently, but as I genuinely don't care (I have more important things to worry about) I don't want to sway a anything and as I said in the initial statement i'll make do with whatever it is the community decides, and regardless of that decision I will be taking a wikibreak - however I won't be taking that wikibreak until I feel comfortable that i've said what I feel I need to say and that there's some form of solid conclusion reached - it's fairly clear at this point in time that it's rather up in arms with some wanting an unblock, some a shorter block and I guess some probably a longer block. I guess the above response could just be seen as an expansion of the original statement, but i'm also going to "defend my corner" so to speak. While there's no "right" to free speech on Wikipedia, at this point in time that "right" has not been revoked and I am therefore still allowed to comment on things that are factually incorrect and to defend myself, which is all the above is meant to do - give my two pennies on the situation and then let the community decide what & how they wish to move forwards. As I said in my apology I appreciate that you probably did not mean it how it came across to me, but after re-reading your comments just now they still do come across that way - perhaps even with a small element of "don't template the regulars". There's no point going into that any further though imo as i've apologised, you've accepted it and there need not be any more discussion on it - we should move along (that is, unless you want to talk about it some more in which case i'm happy to do so). I think perhaps that section of the above was worded badly - if needed at all. What I am trying to say is that in a month's time there is every chance that i'll have found something else to fill my free time and not return. I'm not trying to say "unblock me now or you'll lose my contribs forever" - because there's just as much chance that I stop contributing if I am unblocked sooner rather than later, if you get what I am saying. I'm not quite sure how to phrase that bit. Hope that clears that up. Goblin 00:57, 4 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Nifky!

@DJSasso: You say that you "don't feel he is as crucial as he seems to think he is" - I can assure you that I don't view myself as crucial at all - if you take time to re-read my post you'll see that I wrote that's what a user believed I was. I personally think i'm a "good" contributor - and take that what way you will. I admit i'm not perfect, I admit i've made mistakes - how many times do I need to say it? For the final time, i'm not asking to be unblocked earlier/later/whatever, imo I have no say in that and that's completely up to you and your community members to decide. You go on to say that something along the lines of after a 5th block I should be treated the same way any other editor would be - and do you know what? I am. Perhaps it's not up to the same standards as the English Wikipedia, but - and this can't be denied - Simple English Wikipedia has an extremely long history of procrastinating and putting off the blocking of users "because they might improve if we mentor them". Or "they might get better if we just leave them to it". And you know what, I agree with you. After five blocks a user should be treated differently and expected to sit it out - indeed five blocks should probably be an indefinite - and if you want to issue an indef be my guest, as I keep saying I couldn't care less - but that's just not what's happened throughout the history of simple. 1st/2nd/3rd blocks are consistently not applied when they should be and then when "appropriate" measures are applied they are criticised as being too harsh as the initial measures were not applied when they needed to be. I'm moving away from what I really wanted to say, but hope you'll catch my drift on this, and if not please ask for clarification and i'll oblige. As i've said several times now, yes i've made mistakes, yes i've been a complete idiot, and yes i'll accept whatever it is decided I am to get. I am not appealing against any decisions, there are no unblock requests. I really, really, really don't want to go into any more of my personal life as to why I made the statement, what made me think and the like but I feel i'm going to have to. I understand your apprehension about any unblocks and the like and why you feel that way, but I can't help thinking that you're holding some form of grudge against me, because nearly everything you've said contradicts the general flow of Simple Wiki - in my opinion at least. Finally, I would like to ask you a question: you're making fairly strong and bold comments above about my behaviour on wiki, yet you're own is somewhat to be desired - and I know that I am not alone in thinking this. There are lots of mistakes that you have made and countless times that you've been rude or incivil to other editors - but you feel comfortable lecturing/dismissing/talking about someone else behaviour. Ok, I know this is going to be slightly hypocritical of myself, but I just want to know why you appear to take pleasure out of having mixed standards and why you continue to contribute and participate with the Simple English Wikipedia yet you so clearly want it to fail? Thanks for your time. Goblin 00:57, 4 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Nifky!

You keep claiming you are not asking for a change etc, this is true, however as FSM has mentioned above, if you weren't you would have apologized and moved on. Everything you have said is trying to sway peoples opinions. So really its your actions of swaying opinons that I am referring to as opposed to your words. As far as me wanting simpe to fail, actually its quite the opposite, I see this wiki as failing if it keeps continuing as it is. I am trying to fix the wiki. Sometimes being blunt is what is needed to effect change. And creating change will make some people upset. I am not here to please people or make friends, I am here to help fix a failing wiki. If I have made as many mistakes as you why are you at 5 blocks an I don't have any? You are lashing out because I disagree with you, as you have in the past. While you can do so if you wish, its not really civil, even if you have tried to phrase it as a question. And I will add that just because others were not blocked as apropriate in the past, does not mean that we should continue/start blocking as apropriate. -DJSasso (talk) 01:25, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Oh and no. There is no grudge against you. Your nick could be any nick, you could be any editor. I don't have seperate rules for seperate people like you seem to want us to have. I literally go 24h-48h-1 week-2 weeks-1 month block each time a user is blocked. So the 1 month you got I would give to any other user who has been blocked 4 times previously regardless of who they are. -DJSasso (talk) 01:31, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Simple News News

We Are One! Simple News is now One Year Old, and we would like to thank all of the Simple English Wikipedia contributors who have helped with it during this time. As we move into our second year please continue to send in your contributions, and let's try to develop Simple News further!

On that note, please do continue to submit articles, QandAs and the like. You may have noticed that recent Issues have been fairly bare - and the only way that will change will be with your help.

Thank You!

GoblinBot5 / EhJBot3

Hey, I uploaded EhJBot3 (talk · contribs) to the toolserver and am running it continuously to keep WP:RC updated. Once you get GoblinBot5 running again, please let me know and I'll stop EhJBot3 or ask an admin to block it (soft indef; I'll unblock it after stopping it). You can consider this permission to do that, if needed and GoblinBot5 is working. Thanks! EhJJTALK 03:35, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Cheers EhJJ - i'm having some computer problems and so have been unable to get it up and running again yet. I've got some work to do now but will be having a look later today and will let you know. Regards, Goblin 09:33, 26 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ GoblinBots!

2010 WikiCup/Article Cup/Whatever

Let's have one. Dibs on border=black Purplebackpack89 (talk) 21:23, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

The Wikipedia:Article Cup ends soon. It has brought us 12 new GAs/VGAs in a few months! I second PBP's idea of having one early 2010. Yottie =talk= 22:42, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
I'm more than happy to get one running, however please raise it as Simple Talk and see who would be interested in participating - in a similar fashion to the Article Cup - without it stopping after a few weeks. I.e. get people to commit if they are going to take part. Regards, Goblin 23:37, 30 November 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Fr33kman!
