I recently tried to bring over two articles from EnWP, with the translation tool. While it has its benefits, it also has the drawback of making people stick to the EnWP version too much; the result are articles that are either not simple, or are no good for the target audience. The two articles are Youth suicide and Self-destructive behavior. In the case of youth suicide, I think what is there now is too much focused on bean-counting ("Statistics"). I know that neither is an easy subject, but I believe that having accurate, sound information is important. So, if you find time, please have a look... Will do! After just a quick look at youth suicide, I think it's a good start but see what you mean about stats. I'll focus on the summary section first because it should contain a synopsis of the whole article and doesn't. I'll dig into causes, treatments, focus in different societies (ie: there are some cultures where suicide either doesn't exist or barely exists (eg:Nepal, jungle tribes etc...). For the articles that made me start this discussion, they were under the scientific name on enwiki. You had moved them to the common name here, and then Bobherry moved them back to the scientific name with the edit summary "per enwiki". That's what I mean by "being repeatedly moved back and forth". I don't completely understand this. The guideline only says that the introduction must be simple enough — but if there is complex material in other parts of the article, it should be removed? In essence, aren't you saying that the whole article must be simple enough, and any complex material anywhere in the article should be removed?
Re: Bird, yes the intro is far too long and too complex, you are totally correct about this; it needs fixing. Re: WP:Simple Introduction, Yes, we're 'suggesting' that info anywhere in the article that is too complex can be removed from the article (preferably by adding a simplified version in the intro first). They are trying to guess your password. Change you password to a strong, long and random password and you'll be ok. Mine is over 30 characters long, upper, lower case, special characters and numbers. Please understand that we only have articles about companies that are, basically, world-famous or of equal local notability. The article was clearly about a person who is not notable. There needs to be many references such as newspaper and magazine articles, news website articles and TV programmes about the person. This article is a special case, in that the En-wiki article is so-so (at best), in my opinion.--Another thing: my 'Western world' lost a "20-year war, or police action, or 'invasion that started in 2001'": can one rule out that human psychology, can result in many people (wikipedia-contributors) avoiding the topic of 'government Afghanistan', to avoid negative thoughts about tax dollars and tax euros and tax-Kroner (possibly) having been wasted (in part).--Anyway, please comment on the appropriate talk page, if the article does not get improved quick enough.--In theory, I could improve one error in the article, per week.--Note to self: I must ASAP tell that talk page, which cirka one-or-two names on the list, seem off.--If my post was helpful, then fine.
