RfD nomination of User:Fire in the Hole/deleted pages[change source]

An user has nominated User:Fire in the Hole/deleted pages, an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2010/User:Fire in the Hole/deleted pages and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns but should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 17:45, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fire in the Hole and MisterWiki[change source]

Could you possibly use one or the other? I've not objection with you having both user names (after all, MisterWiki is the one you use on a lot of the other Wikipedias, and it's your SUL name) - but if you want to mainly identify as Fire in the Hole, could you only use that account when signing comments? Regards, -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 09:33, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is confusing :) fr33kman 19:17, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If there's no problem, I would like to be renamed again to MisterWiki :) --Fire in the hole! 22:34, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You already have the name MisterWiki, if you want to be known as that, simply use it and remove the redirects. I'd recommend scrambling the password for this account. fr33kman 22:36, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Coat of arms[change source]

How about a gallery section with a few examples? The article could also use a section for the actual grant of arms (with examples) and also for explaning such things as heraldic badges etc. Thoughts? fr33kman 19:17, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I did a gallery of examples. I moved the 2 coats that already were on the page. Can you help me with another ones? --MisterWiki (talk) 19:40, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! :) fr33kman 22:42, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your bot[change source]

Could you please stop running your bot until you get approval on it? Since you posted the request, you have made four edits using the bot. Concerns have been raised about you operating a bot, so please stop running it until approval is granted. Thank you, Either way (talk) 22:42, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And I've blocked said bot. Running a bot after the relevant request for approval has been denied shows rather poor judgement. Lauryn 22:48, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In this wiki I don't have to do the 50-100 edits as mentioned here ?? --MisterWiki (talk) 22:49, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
When two crats say no to a request, then there is no automatic approval even after 1k edits. Barras talk 22:51, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, but you have to meet this requirement: "this must be permitted by the local bot policy or request page". --Bsadowski1(Talk|Changes) 22:52, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Unblock it. It will not edit anymore unless it is flagged. I promise. It makes the bot look bad while I request flag on other wikis. Please. --MisterWiki (talk) 23:04, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It might "look bad" but it shows the other wikis that you did not respect and follow the bot policies here which they might want to look into when they make their decisions. The block of the bot is certainly appropriate here. Either way (talk) 23:42, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Local crat's overrule the automatic approval, even when a wiki such as ours permits automatic approval. -DJSasso (talk) 23:49, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have to say too that I didn't saw the bot requests page until this thread was started. Sorry about it. But I wonder why you didn't left me a message here instantly. I didn't watched the page or anything and I know it is my fault. Sorry. --MisterWiki (talk) 00:04, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle[change source]

This is not vandalism. Please try to be more careful in the future. Lauryn 19:30, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, maybe it's not vandalism but not a good edit. Well, next time I'll just use rollback unless it's obvious vandalism. ;) --MisterWiki (talk) 19:31, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, do not use rollback. Rollback is only for vandalism. Use undo and leave a descriptive message in the edit summary box. Lauryn 19:33, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okie dokie. :-) --MisterWiki (talk) 19:34, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, as perhaps an incentive to be more cautious, Twinkle can be removed from your account as well. Lauryn 19:47, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I know. I'll be careful next time. --MisterWiki (talk) 19:49, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wish I could delete things here...[change source]

...but I don't have admin privileges. I do over at English, however. I've replaced Atari 5200 which this same user first posted. It was deleted and I rewrote the existing English article to suit this site. That user has caused a lot of damage over at English and his stuff his deleted pretty much on sight. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 22:03, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I know who is he, Pickbothmanlol, look at his meta talkpage, he sent me tips to evade a block. XD. I know he's a vandal but the articles he did are fine, also I made them a few corrections to suit the simple wiki, They can be deleted, but restored with the edits without his nick. Thanks. --MisterWiki (talk) 22:06, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That would break the rules of the GFDL if we were to use his work without crediting him. At least that's what you seem to be calling for here. Take the work, fix it ourselves, then delete all evidence that says he created it. Either way (talk) 22:15, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Then leave his work, at least he did something good on his life :-) --MisterWiki (talk) 22:17, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Carlos Dozzi[change source]

Thanks for taking a stab at sourcing the Carlos Dozzi article. I don't read Italian, so does it say for sure that he wasn't a WWI veteran? This might shed some light on the AFD that's going on with the article right now. Kansan (talk) 23:46, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome[change source]

Hello, Welcome to WikiProject Baking! We know you'll be a great help, and thankyou so much! Belle (talk) 02:52, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. :-) Can I suggest you something? Let me edit the code of the welcome message. --MisterWiki (talk) 04:04, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! Edit to your heart's content! By the way, I actually don't know how to bake or cook either - I, too, can only fry eggs :P! But still, I love cooking, and I have many sweet cookbooks to help me, maybe you can use them to help you too! Belle (talk) 04:06, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay. But please use {{subst:User:Belinda/WikiProject Baking welcome}} when using the 'plate. Cheers, MisterWiki (talk) 04:40, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please read this; preferably several times. Copy/pasting text from the English Wikipedia and then changing three words is not considered simplification and it breaks the GFDL. Lauryn 04:38, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Templates[change source]

Please. Stop copy/pasting things from en.wiki. I'm online right now, if you want a template let me import it. Lauryn 21:43, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I thought they were imported automatically when I requested Barras to import them, but, well, I need the dependencies of en:Template:Infobox weather. --Diego (talk) 21:44, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Finished. If there are any more, then just let me know on my talk page. I'm around most of the day when I'm not in class, even if not editing. Cheers, Lauryn 21:53, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, my apologies about do not attributing. :-) --Diego (talk) 21:55, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's alright, just please try to be more careful in the future. If you're moving a page from another wiki, the best thing to do is add "from xxwiki: permanent link to the revision you brought over" in the edit summary as well as {{enwp based}} on the talk page with the same link if it's from en. When in doubt, don't hesitate to ask. Cheers, Lauryn 21:57, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Of course. :-) --Diego (talk) 22:04, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

my userpage[change source]

Hello. Can I please ask why you removed the quote from my user page? I do not believe it was copyvio since I was merely quoting the lyrics and gave the band credit for the song. I don't understand why you erased it without notifying me first. —§ stay (sic)! 19:08, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The lyrics are copyrighted. And are not licensed under CC-BY-SA or another free license. So please don't restore it. --Diego (talk) 19:10, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Its better to discuss things without acting first. I explicitly stated that the lyrics didn't belong to me. Thanks, —§ stay (sic)! 19:13, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Piscatte[change source]

I believe the article should be deleted because, no has edited it since December 30 plus it's a stub article and it is not referenced. (Ofcourseiwould (talk) 00:59, 26 February 2010 (UTC)) I'm sorry about the template of cleaningup =].[reply]

If it hasn't been edited since December 30, is not a reason to delete. Animals articles doesn't need to be referenced, check other languages pages about the same articles you request quick deletion. Thanks. --Diego (talk) 01:02, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article[change source]

Can you help create the article Jessica Sanchez and Sarey Savy? (Ofcourseiwould (talk) 01:24, 26 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]

I don't know nothing about the subjects. --Diego (talk) 01:31, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why is Viki Nuon tagged for speedy deletion? I mean she wasn't notable enough for Wikipedia so i didn't even bother creating it there. I created it here so i can take some time to source references please take the tagged deletion off? (Ofcourseiwould (talk) 01:27, 26 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]

No. --Diego (talk) 01:31, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I hadnt noticed this thread before. But, anyway, anyone mentioning "Sarey Savy" is very likely to be a sockpuppet of the enwiki user named Channel 6, whose article has been created and deleted more than 20 times. I know Simple has its own independent criteria for notability, but judging by the fact that Ofcourseiwould is blocked it looks to me like we've decided he isnt welcome here either. Soap (talk) 11:40, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

move revert[change source]

I've reverted your move of the earthquake article, since the article is about an earthquake that affected Chile. It is known by most news organisations as the Chilean Earthquake, not the Pichilemu, Chile Earthquake. Hope you don't mind. Griffinofwales (talk) 20:18, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK. --Diego (talk) 20:18, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article also needs to be simplified. It is only a copy of the En. article right now. If it is not simplified soon, it will be quick deleted. Either way (talk) 20:40, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[change source]

Hi, I noticed that when you helped fix the mess I made, you used undo. After a check, I discovered that you don't have rollback and was quite surprised. Have you thought about asking for rollback so you can do things like that faster? :) Thanks, SS(Kay) 22:53, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was denied thrice. I shall request in a month or so. --Diego let's talk 22:55, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ask me in a month and if you've continued to use Twinkle as it was intended and have used descriptive edit summaries when the edit wasn't vandalism and if you always leave notes on talk pages of people whose edits you've undone, then I'll grant you rollback. Lauryn (utc) 22:57, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay :-) --Diego let's talk 22:58, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese era names[change source]

When I re-write or re-use sentences, format, inline citations, and bibliographic reference sources which I alone introduced in en:Wikipedia, es:Wikipedia, fr:Wikipedia, etc., I do not believe that the attribution conventions apply. In other words, is it unreasonable to argue that I cannot "copy" from myself?

On the other hand, when I do copy anyone else's work from any other source, there is no question that attribution is appropriate and necessary.

Does this make sense to you? --Tenmei (talk) 17:07, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You need to attribute. No matter if you have re-written it. Your articles don't look like complete-rewrites. So attribute. --Diego let's talk 17:10, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for clarifying. --Tenmei (talk) 20:43, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your helpful comments.

If you please, will you take a look at two articles about Japanese era names: Shōō (Kamakura period) and Einin?

Do you have constructive suggestions? --Tenmei (talk) 00:11, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You mentioned a corollary article which needs attribution.

The edit history will show that I created this table at en:Wikipedia. Also, the editing record will show that the format, inline citations and bibliographic reference sources which are copied here are my work.

However, this specific article was started by someone else. If the attribution I have added from 2010 is inadequate, a link to the 2008 version can be substituted. Is the 2010 attribution satisfactory? BTW: Will you please look over the way I have added categories for the lists of emperors and era names? I want to create a solid foundation for further work. --Tenmei (talk) 21:56, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As I said. You need to attribute. I have created many articles in the english Wikipedia, but I have to attribute anyway. And please simplify your articles, they are not enough simple. --Diego let's talk 21:59, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
FYI: I posted:
If you have additional comments or suggestions as these projects develop during the coming year, I would welcome them. --Tenmei (talk) 14:37, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Would you mind to restore the Category:Earthquake engineering for the main article Earthquake engineering, please? Thanks. Shustov (talk) 22:24, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stop of vandalism.[change source]

You do not understand, remove images without justification or less prior discussion and lying in his edit summaries that "removes the spam", if you follow this game, you must report it in the ANI. Please abstain from acts of vandalism, editwar not, unless you want new blocks . Ccrazymann (talk) 03:13, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are the one that is wanting a block, specially because you are spamming your friends photos in xwiki. I have to revert you everywhere again. Sorry, but this is not another game of you. They are justificated, since your friends photos magically appeared on every single Chile article. In addition that they are not illustrative. Chileans are not blonde. I must say, a 3-4 % in the whole population. So, you please behave. Cheers. --Diego let's talk 22:18, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a note about that possible image spam here. Thank you for bringing it to my notice. --Jyothis (talk) 23:02, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ccrazymann (talk) 16:52, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Translation[change source]

I'm gonna denounce you to ANI, because you are still vandalizing, removing pictures without justification, without discussing previously, doing unfair accussations against me and sabotaging articles against Chile. I'm gonna talk with the sysop (actually steward) Drini, who knows very well your sockpuppets and continued vandalism acts in the english and spanish wikis, about your spam and autopromotional pictures of your family, so he can block you indefinetely in all the wikis you have edited. --Diego let's talk 01:00, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cities in Chile[change source]

Hello Diego Grez, for your "project"

  • Provinces, and their capitals
  • The 10 "biggest" cities of the country
  • The 10 "most important" (economically, culturally) of the country
  • Fix the page you just imported to be in English.

Good luck. --Eptalon (talk) 18:12, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stub Cup[change source]

Stub Cup
Hi and thanks for taking part in the Stub Cup! Here are a few things you need to know before we start:
  • The Cup starts on May 1st 00:00 UTC and ends on June 30th 23:59 UTC.
  • The stubs you expand must have been created before May 1st 00:00 UTC.

The scoring system works as follows:

  • If you get a stub to a Regular Article, you will get 1 point.
    • For an article of 1500 to 2199 bytes of text you get 1 point.
    • From 2200 bytes of text and for every additional 700 bytes of text you get 1 extra point.
    • If the portion you add is unreferenced, you only get half the points it is worth.
  • If you get a stub promoted to Good Article status, you will get 25 extra points.
  • If you get a stub promoted to Very Good Article status, you will get 50 extra points.

Rollback[change source]

Hi Diego. I've gone ahead and given rollback to your account. While it hasn't been a month as I had previously requested, we really shouldn't act like rollback is some kind of prize; it's easily removed if you abuse it, which I highly doubt that you will do. That being said, use it only in clear instances of vandalism and be sure to leave a note on the talk page of whomever it is that you revert. Cheers,  — laurynashby 11:12, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Thanks! :-D --Diego Grez (previously MisterWiki) let's talk 22:28, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
When you undo a good faith change[1], please say why. Thanks! EhJJTALK 01:10, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think that the part removed is important in the article. Forgot to give a reason :-p --Diego Grez (previously MisterWiki) let's talk 01:12, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, you reverted [2] a good edit by an IP. Even if it was incorrect, it was not vandalism. Please don't revert or undo good edits without even leaving an edit summary. EhJJTALK 01:16, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK. /me slaps himself because of his idiocy --Diego Grez (previously MisterWiki) let's talk 01:21, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok Diego, dale, digo, okay thanks, I´m going to start editing (simple english). --[[Bachi 2805 (talk) 22:45, 19 April 2010 (UTC)]][reply]

Haha. Vale vale. Si necesitas ayuda, dejame un mensaje. Saludos. --Diego Grez (previously MisterWiki) let's talk 22:46, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback removed[change source]

Because of your misuses of the rollback tool, I have removed it. This section above outlines some of your misuses. In addition, today you rollbacked an IP twice at ice cream sandwich ([3] and [4]). This shows that you are using the tool inappropriately. It is to be used for vandalism only, but it is clear you are not using it in that way. If you do receive the tool again in the future, please keep this in mind. Either way (talk) 01:14, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

:O! I have reverted a lot of vandalism today and I was having fun with Huggle :'-( --Diego Grez let's talk 01:19, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Aww, I don't think Diego was doing that on purpose. Why don't you give him a second chance, dear Either Way? Belinda 01:23, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Probably because EhJJ brought incorrect reverts to his attention twice. Doing it on purpose or not, it was still incorrect, and if he can't be more careful then he doesn't need to be using rollback.  — laurynashby 01:26, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Rollback#When_not_to_use_rollback. Either way (talk) 01:30, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry you were "having fun" but it is a tool, not a game. Either way (talk) 01:27, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, okay. Too bad, I hope you can earn it back again in the future! Belinda 01:29, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, well, I'll be back to editing articles then. :-P --/me muy idiota let's talk 01:35, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ScienceApologist's edits[change source]

Why did you revert ScienceApologist's edits as vandalism? Kansan (talk) 21:12, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He's removing a lot of info, that is important IMO, if they are unreliable sources, why doesn't he adds the reliable sources he should have?... --Diego Grez let's talk 21:14, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The removal of unreliable sources does not need to be balanced with reliable sources; they simply need to be removed. Perhaps he could have discussed the removal on the talk page concurrently, though. Kansan (talk) 21:15, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Simple.Wiki Question[change source]

Hey There, do you know if there is a Firefox Search Engine add-on for Simple.Wiki like there is for En.Wiki? - NeutralHomerTalk03:59, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello...[change source]

Please be sure to use the {{Enwp based}} template on the talk page of articles that you copy from the English Wikipedia. For example, José Arraño Acevedo can not persist in mainspace in its current condition for much longer, and really does need the attribution. Thanks, Jon@talk:~$ 19:03, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK. My computer was a bit lag-gy and I went for some food. But now it has been resolved. :-) --Diego Grez let's talk 19:05, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Santa Felicidad[change source]

Sorry:

For references and bibliography, I am using the standard ABNT (Association of Technical Standards) Brazilian.

Not know the standard English. If you can help

If you're citing something from the web, write it like <ref>{{cite web|publisher=publisher|url=url|title=title|accessdate=access date}}</ref> PiRSquared17 01:57, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia has standards. There is {{cite book}} for books. --Diego Grez let's talk 02:32, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why should the rollback template be deleted[change source]

It exists on regular Wikipedia (as I am sure you know) and there is no reason ewhy it should not exist here. Immunize (talk) 18:11, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Because {{Rollbacker}} exists, and has the same function. --Diego Grez let's talk 18:13, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It has been redirected to the appropriate template. By the way, may I ask if you are the same Diego Grez from Wikipedia and wikinews? Immunize (talk) 19:09, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. See this utility for info about usernames across wikis. EhJJTALK 21:30, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do not understand your edit summaries[change source]

Whats "trolololol" supposed to mean, and what has it got to do with interwiki links? Immunize (talk) 20:59, 8 May 2010 (UTC) Apology accepted, as long as I do not see more nonsense. Regards. Immunize (talk) 21:16, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsense[change source]

Please stop your nonsensical edit summaries like this. They are not helpful. Edit summaries should describe your edits. If this continues, you will find yourself blocked. Additionally, yes, cities do need to be referenced. Either way (talk) 21:00, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. Ok. Just find someone annoys me. But well. No interactions. --Diego Grez let's talk 21:04, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Al contrario! Los pasé de la Wiki en Español que están más completos, pero recién los empiezo, ayer me tuve que ir y no tuve tiempo de más. Pero bueno solo aclaro eso. Saludos. --[[talk to me (talk) 10:39, 13 May 2010 (UTC)]][reply]
