Your tags

[change | change source]

I was going to leave the tags you placed on Sharjah (emirate) in place. When an editor marks an article for Quick deletion it still needs approval by an administrator. Until then nothing is certain. So if for some reason a QD is declined, any other tags usually stay. Your tag to wikify was a good call. It was OK to remove it but you really didn't need to. I wasn't trying to step on your toes, I just saw an additional issue that needed attention. Thanks Rus793 (talk) 17:32, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Alright I'll remember that next time. Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)

You screwed up

[change | change source]

You screwed up. You told me to say that so even though you didn't, you wanted me to say that, right? Enjoy!50.198.108.221 (talk) 18:51, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Is that supposed to be a riddle?Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)
No, you said "Tell me I screwed up" after every one of your posts. Obviously you wanted me to say that, even though you didn't screw up. So therefore, you like being told you screwed up. Enjoy! :D 50.198.108.221 (talk) 18:55, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Just trying to brighten your day. I'm supposed to be considering this using lots of trained tomato-throwing monkeys and a blue salad, right?
Anyway you want…But I'm not sure where the monkeys and salad came from… Also, "tell me I screwed up" is a link to my talk page on other pages but this one...Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)

Would you care to clarify why this article should be deleted? Nothing about redirects to it should affect whether this article is kept. --Auntof6 (talk) 19:41, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Your signature

[change | change source]

Could you please add a date and time to your customized signature? Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 21:12, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

I have not gotten rid of the date and time, as I do not think there is a way to. I have however been signing with only three ~, due to the fact that my signature is already so long. (This gets rid of the date and time, as you probably know.) But yes, I will start using four ~. --Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 21:19, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Ah, got it! I've never done a customized signature, so I wasn't thinking about the number of tildes. Thanks for the reply! --Auntof6 (talk) 23:03, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
No problem! Glad to see I am of use. Template:;) Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 23:04, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
I didn't know about the tilde thing either. TIL. — LlywelynII
Why would they even have that functionality, though? Don't they always want to have the timestamp included? — LlywelynII 02:36, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Sorry to jump in on the conversation! The reason they have that is because if you want to put your name on a list (like a WikiProject or something) and you want a link to your pages, but not the extra bulk of a timestamp, it's more convenient.Thesixthstaff (talk) 03:51, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Deletion requests

[change | change source]

I mean, you withdrew them, so I don't think it's an issue, but let me know if there's some bizarre policy here re:redirects. Already ran into some issues with their treatment of categories. — LlywelynII 02:37, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Housekeeping

[change | change source]

Hello, Pending. Did you get a chance to work through those fix-ups for Rob Gonsalves? The page looks much better now, but the references are still something that you might want to revise. On another matter, these two templates you created should be in userspace I think, not template space. They're not community templates, it looks like you're using them for user-based projects, yes?

Unless you had some wider function for them in mind? Osiris (talk) 00:24, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Yes, they are mostly for a project. How would I Create a User space template?PendingTell me I screwed up!
Just move them to a User: page like you ordinarily would, and then instead of writing {{Pending/Lesson 1 you write {{User:Pending/Lesson 1. You can transclude most namespaces in that way. Osiris (talk) 22:32, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
@User:Osiris what about Userboxes for wikiprojects? should they be in userspace too? Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)
Most definitely. The guideline is Wikipedia:Userboxes. Osiris (talk) 22:39, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Alright. Thank you very much. Also, incase you didn't know, I hit 1,200 edits today! (My Lucky number) Couldn't have done it without your guidance. Thanks again! Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 22:42, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

We have a problem

[change | change source]

I saw the RfD for Xavier Lust and went to read the article. It read like a press release. So I checked and it is copied from a press release at: http://www.belgianspirit.be/files/Pressinformation_BelgianSpirit_-_SpeakerXavierLust.pdf You've already nominated it for deletion, which is a seven day process. Copyright violations are a QD G12 and are usually immediately removed. Also, that's not exactly the only problem. It's easily a copy & paste from the enWP article of the same name—which article is also in violation of WP's copyright policy. What would you like me to do or rather what would you like to do? Rus793 (talk) 15:56, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

I'll take care of it. Thank you very much. You've been of great help to me and Wikipedia. Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)
OK, just a reminder it's a two-step process. The QD G12 notice and under that (in edit mode) you add: {{copyvio|url= |Date= }} Thanks. Rus793 (talk) 16:05, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Patrolling contd

[change | change source]

Picking up where we left off here, I'd like to make sure that we've covered everything. The references on Rob Gonsalves still do not work.

Because your new pages are now automatically marked as patrolled, editors will likely skip over them when going through the new pages list. Have a look at the edits I made to Relish, Myliobatiformes, Aït Benhaddou, Chandler Riggs and Steven Yeun. Over time, you should be able to pick up on all the things that need to go into an article. If you're unsure about what category might apply, you can place {{uncat}} down the bottom of the page.

Try to use simple sentences. A good way to do that is to try to use just one verb in each sentence, although in some cases you won't be able to. A random example is the last sentence on Ewarton – there are two clauses in this sentence, beginning with "is" and "has", making it a compound sentence. Another example is on Aït Benhaddou – "live" and "moved" in the same sentence make a compound sentence; splitting that sentence into two will make two simple sentences.

Did you have a look at the things Auntof6 mentioned in that thread on my talk page? Since the patroller right bunches also gives you the ability to mark others' edits as patrolled, it is important that you make sure an article is fixed up before you mark it as patrolled. Once you mark it, other editors patrolling NewPages will likely skip it. Cases in point: you marked Alexander Kerensky, Hugh Dowding, Korean mask and Ralph Bunche as patrolled. But they need actually patrolling. Basic things like links, categories, sort keys, formatting, and interwiki links need to be done. The article on Bunche is just a copy-paste of the introduction from the English Wikipedia, so it needs either simplifying or deleting. Perhaps you could take a look back those articles and do what needs to be done?

I also described how to add inter-language links (interwikis). Do you need some further help with this? If there is anything that you don't understand, just let me know. Over time it will all come naturally. Osiris (talk) 01:20, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

Alright. I'm back and ready. I have found another source for Rob Gonsalves, which covers what my previous non-working sources backed up. I have looked at all your edits made to Relish, Myliobatiformes, Aït Benhaddou, Chandler Riggs and Steven Yeun. Is there a list of all the categories an article can be placed in? Also, I took a look at the comment that Auntof6 made. I will be much more careful with marking pages patrolled (I do not think i will mark anything until I get better) and using simple sentences. I will review how to add inter-language links, and hope to become a much better editor. -Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)

I have QD'd that article as vandalism. I saw that the creator of the article removed the QD tag. For future reference, the only people allowed to remove a QD tag are the person who placed it or an admin, so you could have just put it back. Hello. I noticed you crossed out Thesixstaff from the members list. While it is a good idea to write next to the username that they are inactive, I strongly obejct to crossing out their name from the list.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 20:55, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

I guess your right. I will uncross the name, but I am going to keep the (Currently Inactive) there. Also, I was wondering, what rights do you have on this wiki? -Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)
Ok thanks. I just think Thesixstaff might be annoyed/upset when they see their name crossed off the list. And when you say my rights I assume you mean Rollback or patroller. I currently have neither.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 21:03, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

My nomination

[change | change source]

Well done on the new page. I was going to create it myself but it seems you have done a brilliant job. I will try to expand on it tomorrow. Also you have rollback and patroller rights don't you? How long do you have to be here before you can request it? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr Wiki Pro (talkcontribs)

Yes I have both Patroller and Rollback rights on this wiki. I do not remember how long I have been on this wiki, but when it comes to rights, (for the most part) it does not matter about the time spent. It mostly matters about how much experience you have. I have had lots of experience, as I put in around ten to eleven hour days each day. (I start at eight and finish around now.) This may seem to contradict what I said about time not mattering, but I have been active the whole time I have been here (Besides wiki-break for four days. Rather than creating an account and editing once a day.) I do not believe you are ready for Patroller rights, but I do believe you are very capable of getting Rollbacker rights. I would say you could request anytime now, seeing how you feel with a lot of vandalism like I do. Before you do though, read [[1]] to get familiar with the rules and abilities. When you request, make sure to state why you would like such a requirement, and state the fact that you have encountered a lot of vandalism. I would suggest looking at my request right here. I believe if you do what I just stated, you will definitely get Rollback rights. -Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 23:18, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
Thank you. I think I will leave if for a few weeks before requesting rights. Also I just realised I left an unsigned message on your talk page. That annoys me I have never done that before.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 23:22, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
I noticed also, thats why I added the unsigned comment thingy. Also, it is no problem, you are a great editor and with a little hard work (and more created pages) you will get any rights you wish to pursue. Also Also, did you notice that Thesixthstaff is back? Ronald Reagan

[change | change source]

Overall, I think the article is okay for GA, but the only thing that's wrong with article are its references. It needs to have the date it was published on and the author. I fit doesn't have an author then just ignore it. That's the main focus right now. How's Nelson Mandela. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 02:28, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

{{help}} I have seem multiple users with a template that shows up when you edit their talk or user page, I would like to know how that is done. An example of one is here.

That's an edit notice. It appears to be done by creating a subpage called "Editnotice" under your talk page. On the page you linked to, if you click on "Page notice", you'll see an example. If you decide to use one, keep in mind that the guidelines at Wikipedia:User page would apply. --Auntof6 (talk) 22:56, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

Please put categories on articles you create

[change | change source]

Thanks for creating a new article, Franco Bracardi. Right now, the only category is a stub category, and it needs some "normal" content-related categories. Can you take care of that, or do you need help with it? I have a write-up on this at User:Auntof6/What to put in a biographical article#Categories -- maybe that would help. Please include categories when you create articles. If you're not sure what category(ies) an article needs, you can either put {{uncat}} on it or ask for help figuring it out. I'm always happy to help people learn how to figure out categories. --Auntof6 (talk) 18:33, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Compound sentence and multiple verbs with certain sentences

[change | change source]

Hey Pending, could you explain as to what the compound sentences were, and what were the multiple verbs in one part were? The reason for the Complex notice for Assassination Games, I couldn't understand. Can you please specify? Angela Maureen (talk) 19:22, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Of course. Recently I was told by Osiris that when you are creating an article, you should try to minimize the amount of compound sentences in an article. The sentence here, "Due to Interpol getting on their trail, the two assassins, Vincent and Roland, join one another to take out their targets before they themselves are put to death," has multiple phrases with many verbs such as getting, join, take, and are. I would suggest that you or I (or another editor) attempt to split the sentence into two or more sentences. Remember that many people that are on this Wikipedia may know little English, and it could be confusing for them to see so many different nouns and verbs doing different things in one sentence. If I messed up somewhere in this explanation, please let me know. Happy Editing _Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 19:33, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

If your referring to Ronald Reagan and you wouldn't care less about how I'm doing, I would say alright. Peterdownunder made a list of a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed. Happy Birthday (I assume its today)--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 19:34, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Thankyou! What a surprise! ~_~ --Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 19:34, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Your welcome. Not related but keep an eye out for this. As a patroler you might find it usefull.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 19:39, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Interesting. Should I add an article to the list if I see one as such? Or would you rather I post it on the talk page? Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 19:41, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

You can add one if you see one. Its not going to stop its been going on since May 2013.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 19:47, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Wow. How did you stumble onto this?Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 20:03, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Well I have found and tagged a few of these pages and I looked at old deletion logs to find the rest. I have not looked at the logs older than May 2013 so there could be more. I am going to check them now--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 21:33, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
May I ask where the Deletion Logs are?Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)

Go on pubilic logs and click on deletion log.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 21:36, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

I meant to ask where the public logs are. -Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 21:46, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Just go on your changes and click on logs and remove your name from the search bar and were it says all public logs change that to deletion log.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 21:49, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Oh. I see. Thanks for the info. _Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 21:59, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you so much for your encouragement! It means a great deal to me. MySweetMelissa (talk) 19:45, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Rollback removed

[change | change source]

Because of the contents of this conversation with regards to this edit that occurred from this account, I have removed your rollback rights. Rollback is reserved for trusted members. This edit calls the trust into question. Your explanation suggests that someone else has had access to this account. Accounts are often blocked for this kind of compromising. Your rollback rights can be restored if the community finds that you have earned its trust back at a later time. Only (talk) 02:09, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Alright. Thank you for letting me know. I understand that while you do not believe me, you have been nice enough to not block my account. Why would I spend all this time, nearly every day four nine hours, creating pages, reverting vandalism, and trying help other users, just to throw it down the drain with one edit? I promise you that will not be any situation as such again. I have changed my password to all of my active websites' accounts, and I have started using a lock on my computer. Thank you for your time as always. -Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 13:40, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Video game articles

[change | change source]

I saw the video game articles you created recently. Please note the following:

  • Video game articles should have the {{italictitle}} template at the top of the article.
  • Upcoming video games should be categorized in Category:Upcoming video games rather than in Category:Video games. (In fact, video game articles should never need to be in Category:Video games -- they should be in its subcategories.) It would also help if you use the {{update after}} template somehow to remind us of when the article should be updated.
  • Video game articles should have categories for their year of release, the type of game they are, and the platforms they run on.

Would you be able to go back to the video game articles you created and take care of these things? It would be much appreciated. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 05:42, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Yes I can. Thank you for the information. Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 12:40, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Your en.wiki account

[change | change source]

Have a look at your en.account.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 16:50, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

I saw. I don't understand. I talked to an admin, and unified my accounts. I guess everything is going to fall apart now. First I lose rights due to a circumstance that admins don't believe, and now this. Oh well. Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 17:13, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Was the admin a member of ArbCom?--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 17:15, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Unless he forgot to put his name on the list, no. Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 17:19, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

What is his/her name? I might know them. (I have met alot of the en.wiki admins)--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 17:51, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

I think it was Xeno, but it might have been Armsbrust. -Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 18:07, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Armbrust is not an admin. I recomend you contact ArbCom to sort it out.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 18:16, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Why? What could they do? My best bet, is just to stay here. But then again, everyone here doesn't trust me and they think that I would throw away the reputation I've built for myself here, just to post a rude category on a page. The first day I was here, I said that this Wikiproject seemed different from the others. Apparently I was wrong. This doesn't mean I'm going to stop editing, it just means that I can say goodbye to all the good I thought I could do here. (Because that requires trust.) -Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 18:23, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Ahh dont worry I dont think many people trust me either.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 18:28, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

I would start a Wikiproject again, like the Reformed Vandals Wikiproject, but apparently I need to remove my name from that list. According to Only and Kennedy-(which I thought of all people would back me up) say I am a vandal. -Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 18:31, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject reformed vandals

[change | change source]

I noticed you left. Will you consider re-joinig in the future?--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 19:34, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Possibly. I'm pretty sure I will be taking a wikibreak soon, but I'm not sure. I think that until this event bubble's down, I will be taking a step back from Wikipedia. It appears that due to my history on the en. , that people are starting to think many things of me. I'll let you know my decision later. Also, do mind if I ask you what your opinions are? Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 19:44, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Ok I understand. As I have already told you is much worse than yours. I certianly think you should re-join WikiProject reformed vandals.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 19:53, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Although sock puppetry is very wrong, and I do not promote it, all I can think of when I see the list is, "What poise!" Naming your sock puppets Mr Wiki Pro sock puppets? Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 19:58, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Well... At the time I found it very amusing. I no longer think that though. There is loads more untagged ones with similer usernames.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 20:03, 28 January 2014 (UTC) Every sock puppet you had, should only make you feel better for being a reformed vandal now. Me, I did it, just to be able to edit constructively after the initial block. Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 20:06, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
