Latin names...[change source]
Hello, just wanted to point out that I am not against Latin names for animals and plants; once you communicate with people speaking a different language, they may be the only way to say what you mean. For my part, I usually create the article at the (presumably) most common English name, and then create redirects for the others (including the binominal name). --Eptalon (talk) 13:22, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

- Oh, this is a subject with a long and contentious history in biology. The reason for having the Linnaean system at all is because of the confusion where all countries used different terms irrespective of whether of not the terms referred to the same species. It may not seem or be a bad idea to use common names, except for the fact that a species may be given 15 or 20 different names in different parts of the world. When in doubt use the Linnaean system because that way you will be understood by readers from any part of the world. You can always use redirects to the title for common names. car/automobile[change source]
You may have already changed them all unfortunately so its going to be a bit of work to revert them all. But the reason we use automobile instead of car is that it is considered simplier than car. Automobile is on the Wikipedia:Basic English combined wordlist which is the list of words we try to use when possible because they are considered the gold standard of simple words. Car is not on that list. Please don't change it in the future if you see more uses of it. -Djsasso (talk) 12:22, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed that you added this to Manuel Lanzini. With respect to Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2014/Categories showing mixes of national ancestry, I have removed it from the page.
