January 2021[change source]

Hello. Thank you for your edits here. However, we follow en.wikipedia and so your edit on President of the United States was reverted, as we'll be using the official 2013 portrait until there's an official portrait. Thanks! --Belwine💬📜 11:30, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Adding captions[change source]

Hello. Thank you for editing here. Remember that we are the Simple English Wikipedia, and we go by the BE 1500 wordlist. You'll notice that the words "official" and "portrait" aren't on the list, so I undid your edits to David Cameron and Boris Johnson. Thanks :) —Belwine💬📜 14:23, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

May 2021[change source]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make helpful changes to Wikipedia. However, some of your changes, like those to "Jo Swinson", did not seem to be helpful and have been reverted or removed. If you want to try out changing Wikipedia to learn more about how it works, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please do not replace the current picture of a live person with an old picture. The current pictue is sufficiently 'professional' Brian R Hunter (talk) 09:01, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop changing the image of Jo Swinson to an old picture. The current one is an official picture from 2017. It makes no sense to replace it with one from 2014. Brian R Hunter (talk) 20:32, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

changes of prime ministers[change source]

Legally, changes of Prime Minister in the UK are instantaneous. When they actually move out and in to No. 10 Downing Street is irrelevant. There always must be a Prime Minister because something critical may happen if there is an interregnum. Also, see En wiki dates. Macdonald-ross (talk) 20:17, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I haven’t changed any Prime Ministerial dates. However, I have corrected that Thatcher ceased to be Leader of the Conservative Party on 27 November 1990. She didn’t leave office until 28 November 1990 when she could recommend to The Queen that John Major had the support of the governing party and he could command the confidence of the House of Commons.

Party leader and prime minister are completely different positions. There is normally a gap of a day or so after a successor has been elected but before a PM goes to The Queen to officially tender their resignation.

In this case, Margaret Thatcher’s successor, John Major became Leader of the Conservative Party one day before he was formally invited to form a government and become Prime Minister by The Queen. Ciaran.london (talk) 00:39, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
