Tips

Hello, Good job on the articles you are writing so far, keep up the good work! However here are few tips:

 • When writing a new article, the first time you mention the subject it should be in bold.
 • When linking to Wiktionary you don't have to use an external link, you can link it like this example. This means the external links still look like normal links.

Other than that the articles you have been making are great, keep it up! FSM Noodly? 16:19, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, EvillyG00d. You have new messages at The Flying Spaghetti Monster's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the Talkback or Tb template.

I found out, thanks to Griffinowales! You have to do it like thisexample Sorry for all the hassle, I really should have known that in the first place.... FSM Noodly? 16:57, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your articles

Hi there! I just replied to Talk:There's No Disgrace Like Home only. I don't want to post this on all the articles. Please have a look there. -Barras talk 15:31, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK! At least partly correct ;). When you click (on enwiki) on the button Permanent link (on the left sidebar, at the bottom) you get a better link to use for the template. Best -Barras talk 15:38, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Again, your articles meet the copyright violation criteria. When you create articles such as Bart the General, you Have to add the enwp based template. Please do this when copying from en. We'll notice when you copy from en. Please remember this, otherwise we'll just delete the articles which you've created. Thanks -Barras talk 17:58, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And another tip. When you want to link to Wiktionary, so please use word. This will link to the simple English Wiktionary. Even if the article does not exist over there, you should do it this way. A weblink in an article doesn't look that nice. Thanks -Barras talk 18:16, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Something you might want to hear.

I made a Template:Simpsons-Stub that you can use for your articles.  Kaltxì Na'vi!  21:56, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tip

When doing a quick delete request, it's a good idea to specify a reason for it. :) --Bsadowski1(Talk|Changes) 21:59, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

I've assigned you rollback, to ease your undoing of vandalism. Enjoy! PeterSymonds (talk) 14:43, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Peter! I'll be so much faster now. I-on 14:50, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

TOTW

Hello, and welcome, we clashed earlier at the current Translation of the week. Just a short note, I am done for now, but sections still look complex. There ya go. --Eptalon (talk) 22:29, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I-on2

Hi there. Is I-on2 (talk · contribs) an alternate account that belongs to you? If yes, please tag it with User Alternate Acct and if not, let me know and I'll block the account. ···Lauryn 05:28, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your Signature

I-on, could I please request that you reduce the length of your signature, as it is currently of an unacceptable length (spanning 5 lines on my abnormally large screen, so I hate to think about smaller ones) and is in breach of our signature policy. Please note that not changing your signature can be seen as project disruption and is a blockable offence, however I am sure that it won't come to that :) Thanks for understanding. But what does that mean? I tried to delete Sims 3, but it didn't work very good... I don't get the link you introduced me to, either... But thanks for the help anyway. Miss Tilney (talk) 00:32, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle

Hi, I-on! I'm very sorry to bother you: could you please give me some advice with how to use Twinkle? (Since you seem to be so great at vandal-fighting with it, I mean ). Computers and gadgets are not some of my best subjects ㅠ.ㅠ, so as for now I manually type down all warnings to vandals and this takes much more time and effort. I downloaded Twinkle on my monobook, but I don't know how to use it, so it's just gathering dust...>,< well, thank you anyway. Yours sincerely and gratefully, tho' bothersomely, Classical Esther 10:45, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the first thing is to describe all the new tabs. You should have tabs saying "watch", "warn", "qd", and "last". The watch tab is used to watch the page. Click on it to add the page your currently on to your "watchlist". The warn tab is used to warn vandals on their talk page. Click on it to choose the right warning. First, choose which kind of bad edit they did, like Vandalism, Test edits, Blanked the page etc. Then choose the level. There are General Notes (level 1), Caution (level 2), Warning (level 3), and Final Warning (level 4). Or, if they vandalized a lot in the past months, you can place the Only Warning. If they vandalize after they are given a Final Warning or Only Warning, you can report them here. The qd tab is used to tag pages that are complete nonsense, complete vandalism, little or no meaning etc. You can see the list by clicking on the qd tab. The cool thing is that not only does it tag the page automatically, but it also sends a message to the user that made the page, letting him/her know about his/her page is being ready to get deleted. The last tab is used to....actually I don't know what that's used for. I think it shows the last change done to the page your currently on.

That's about it. After a few days you'll get the hang of it pretty easily. Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 15:54, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for replying so kindly and in such detail, I-on! You're the best! Nice new signature, too :). I have just one more question: can I add you to my list of friends on my user page? Thank you again! God bless, Classical Esther 00:08, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Of course! I'm glad I could of been some help. :) Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 02:01, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear I-on, you have to be very careful about being so kind to people as dumb as me, because I always have new, yet more bothersome questions to ask! I have the "watch" tab, but even though I put Twinkle in my monobook and refreshed it, I don't see any new tabs. Maybe it doesn't work with my computer...? ㅠ.ㅠ My vandal warner works, but not Twinkle. Sigh. Thank you anyway. Please tell me if you have any ideas what's wrong...either with my brain or my computer. :) Classical Esther 05:13, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I forgot to tell you that you don't need to add it to your monobook. I would try to erase it off your monobook and see what happens. Also, make sure you have Twinkle set on in your "Gadgets", just to make sure. :) And Classical Esther, you are not dumb. Your curious. I was the same way when I got Twinkle. Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 15:14, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, still doesn't work. Oh, well, I'll just be satisfied with vandal warner. Thank you for being so invariably kind and patient, & for replying. You are truly a very kind person! Yours truly, Classical Esther 03:07, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It depends on your web browser as well. Twinkle only works with Firefox, Opera and Safari; not Internet Explorer. Lauryn Ashby (d) 03:10, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hum.

Hey, ya know, I-on, you should make a vandal page on Simple WikiPEEdia, too, Bionic233 (if that's your other name, I forgot which one). Hum! It was VERY fun writin' on there, ya know. Why don't ya check up what I wrote, leetle sir? -.+ A-HEM! Sniff. I don't have a care in da world! >0< Can you visit ma' User talk? It's too short. If you write somein' then maybe it'll get a bit longer. Hehe! Ooh, am I vandalizing your page? Squeak, squeak! I'm a pipsqueak! Mella Mouse (talk) 07:41, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No. I will not make you a vandal page for you to vandalize. If you want a vandal page, make it yourself. And don't you dare try to vandalize my page or userspace because I have some of the most powerful Anti-vandalize tools to revert it with. Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 16:24, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Snuffle. Sob. Sorry. I didn't mean to vandalize your page, it's just that I thought your vandalism page on the English Wikipedia was kinda cool. Sniff. Waaah! I'm only nine years old so be nice to me. Could you write back to me, pwease? I'm vewy vewy lonely. Mella Mouse (talk) 00:59, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How to say this nicely I don't know: You seem like a vandal....or much worse. I will keep a close eye on you and notify admins about you. If your 9, which I highly doubt you are, you are a little to young to be on wiki in my opinion. Do NOT bother replying to this message Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 17:39, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of chess Grandmasters

Hi there. I've nominated an article that you have worked on, List of chess Grandmasters, for deletion. Your comments are welcomed at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2010/List of chess Grandmasters. Cheers, Lauryn 08:28, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry!

Sorry! I missed your in-use template when I made my changes to the Grandmaster list! I did not notice it until after I saved it. My apologies! Either way (talk) 21:06, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I'm happy about it. You went a lot faster then I did. I just finished the "H" section. lol! Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it! :-) Is there a shortcut you used, or did you just retype it in lower case letters like I did? Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 21:15, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I just copied and pasted it to Microsoft Word, then selected the "change case" option and changed it to "capitalize every word." Either way (talk) 21:19, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding that silly Mella Mouse

I beg your pardon for all the vexation and confusion that silly Mella Mouse must have caused you. Sorry I couldn't explain sooner, I was on a wikibreak, you see. Mella Mouse really is nine years old, and she isn't a vandal - she's just a tease. That's bad enough - for a girl of nine who acts so silly, is always suspected of acting bad. But I begin where I ought to end, with a moral, which I dare say you are not anxious to anticipate - so let me begin properly. I'm thirteen, Pretty Lydie is twelve, and Mella Mouse is nine, and being the "baby" of the family, is as lively and as unthinking as if she was three. Well, seeing Lydia and I so interested in Wikipedia, Eunice, I mean, Mella Mouse, suddenly was seized with an idea that she would "show us" how good she was at "those stuff", I suppose, so she became a user, and then, her inexperience, coupled with her playfulness, has now made everybody think that she is a vandal. Ah, I see how annoying she has been to you above, and I have scolded her heartily. She is very sad and repentant, and I will be sure to keep an eye on that mischievous baby. You're right, I don't think she's old enough for Wikipedia yet...and I'll do my best to stop all further frolics. Thank you for your attention and kindness, dear Ian! and for reading patiently my long, tedious, boring, unsatisfying excuse. God bless! Yours truly, Classical Esther 04:26, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is no need to be sorry. I'm just glad she wasn't what I thought she was. Thank you for the answer to my puzzle. I hope you and your sisters continue to have a good time on wikipedia. :-) Thanks again for your answers. Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 14:32, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for being so invariably kind and understanding, Ian! I am honored to meet with somebody so nice as you are. Classical Esther 09:04, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Another barnstar!

Oh, see below my explanation, please.

The Fauna Barnstar
I am sure I must not be giving so much barnstars to everybody, for so little reason, but you I certainly am sure you deserve! Regarding your kindness to my sister Classical Esther, and seeing all your edits on vandals, I was trying to give you the anti-vandalism barnstar, but I see you've already got some, so...! Oh, yes, and I was also trying to apologize the rudeness and indelicacy of my little sister Mella Mouse--I see I am obliged to award you a barnstar. But what barnstar would fit you? I wondered, and searched through your user page--and saw that you have made many various good articles about Hummingbirds, whilst your sister, Megan Mccarty, my most favourite user in SE Wikipedia, is so brilliant on butterflies and those sort of things. Well! Anyway, so I decided to award you--this barnstar, a Fauna Barnstar! With Regards and Blessings of God, I am yours ever-humbly-- Miss Tilney (talk) 04:31, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hope you enjoy it! Bye the bye, I am Pretty Lydie in Esther's explanation. :) Belinda Tilney (talk) 04:32, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations, Ian! You certainly deserve it, also for helping me out with a really kind and detailed explanation about Twinkle, tho' I could never put such sweet advice to use...Classical Esther 09:05, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Repentant

Sowwy for being annoying all the time. I was repentant after Classical Esther gave me a classical PUNCH! - like this: POW! SMACK! OWWW! OUCH! ㅠ.ㅠ Sniffle. I just decided to become your friend again. Will you please check the very bottom of my User for me, handsome I-on? I wanna show you something. You're so nice. Let's be friends again, like the old days. Squeak, squeak! P.S, sorry for vandalizing your page last time. Huwwy up and check my User page! Mella Mouse (talk) 10:19, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What in the world? Eunice, please stop writing to I-on so annoyingly. Hi, Ian, don't worry about Eunice trying to tease you any longer, I think she's just been blocked, poor thing. God bless! Classical Esther 10:31, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

State categories

Could you revert yourself on your state categories? I noticed you added them all to Category:United States. All of these states are already in categories such as Category:Wyoming. According to Wikipedia:Categories: "Pages should be placed in the lowest level of the category tree that applies to them. Pages should never be placed in both the parent and child categories." Since the state categories are the lowest, or child, level of the category tree for the United States, they should not be placed in both. Thanks, Either way (talk) 16:04, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to your most delightful smile

I loved and still am proud of your smile! I shall treasure it all my days on SEWP!! Thankyou so much for calling me a friend--it does me great honor to hear so. Although you are a much more experienced editor than me, I still hope we can be good friends. O, and by the way, you have no need to be worried with that pert little Mella Mouse anymore--she retired, and now toute eploree. You can see for yourself! What a relief, but she is quite poor, blocked by everbody everywhere... :P Well anyway, thankyou so much for the smile, and as a reply, I suppose I must smile back!

Thank you! I will treasure it forever and ever! Thank you for your kind words and I hope you continue to have a great time on SEWP! Yours truly, Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 14:44, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, of course, though (vexingly) that smiley face always pokes out of the box... By the way, Ian, did you check on your review? I reviewed you! I hope I did it good enough to satisfy you. Oh, yes, and for last, I changed my user name--don't you think Pretty Lydie sounds extremely vain? So now it is Belinda--you musn't get confused! And I finally changed my signature, and I won't change it again--everybody is getting puzzled and calling me "Miss Tilney, Lydia, Pretty Lydie, Belinda" at once! So I made my signature stable. I wish I could make my signature so pretty and cool as yours, Ian, I wonder how you did it! :) Well, have a nice day! Yours truly, Belle (talk) 07:49, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, it snowed so much to-day poor Esther has a cold. Will you be ever-so-kind as to pray for her? I have to nurse her, presently, so goodbye, and sorry for pestering you so much with my impertinent bossy comments! Belle (talk) 07:49, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed I will pray for Classical Esther. If you need anything, please ask. I'm always here. :-) And thank you for the review. I did reply to it if you would like to see what I said. Oh, and I can teach you how to make a signature like mine, or I can try to design one for you if you like. But it may confuse the public again! :-D Yours truly, Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 16:15, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your concern about my health...I'm sure I'll recover soon, with so many wonderful people's kind wishes! At this rate, I think I'll begin to enjoy having a cold...^w^ Classical Esther 02:34, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, Esther, you really are getting too spoiled. I think I shouldn't mention your cold to so much people anymore. And, alright, Ian, I can just keep this signature for myself, I've gotten fond of it. Thankyou for praying for Esther, by your help and everybody's concern she is unfortunately getting extremely sorry for herself and thinking that she is a sick patient who shall die in a week--and I've caught a cold from her, after nursing her and nursing her!! :-) I liked your comment on the review, thankyou! Yours happily, Belle (talk) 03:15, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of chess masters

Might I suggest that realistically, list of chess masters might not be a page that would be worth doing in comparison to some of the other possible chess pages? There are just so many worldwide that it would be impossible to list them all (much less keep the page from getting deleted). Kansan (talk) 01:14, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome! Do you think that it would be a good idea to create a separate category for chess players? There aren't too many yet, but there already are a few, and I'd like to write a few (players like Kasparov and Morphy don't seem to have articles yet). Kansan (talk) 06:34, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see any reason why we couldn't, and Wikipedia does say be bold, so I went ahead and created a new category "Chess players" as a subcategory of "Chess" and moved all the existing players over. Kansan (talk) 20:14, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You must really be sick of me now

Sorry for polluting your talk page with so much nonsensical bothers from me... I just wanted to inform you, Ian, that I improved your article about Blackberry Pies :). If you're not too busy, could you check on it to see if I did nicely? Regards, Belle (talk) 05:24, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A job well done Belle! Thank you much! And I'm not getting sick of you. I enjoy getting messages much, so I don't mind at all. Thanks again for the improvements! Yours truly, Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 12:05, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So am I

Hello, and have a happy valentines day!!

I really am starting to feel like Esther's sockpuppet, doing everything she does! :)

But I really wanted to wish you a happy valentine's day, I can't help it... so here 'tis is!! I hope you won't be annoyed if two people wish you a happy valentine's day. Also, it's a Happy New Year in Korea, so Happy New Year also(it's not exactly January 1rst, but Traditional Koreans celebrate New Year a bit late)!! Thanks for being a great friend and a great user!

Yours Ever-affectionately,

Belle (talk) 08:19, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you both! And Happy New Year to you! I would like to give you both a valentine as well but first, I have a question: Does Valentines Day exist in your country? Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 15:43, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, it does! Everybody at school all care about how much valentine chocolates they've recieved, ect. ect. It's a relief I'm homeschooled, because else everybody would laugh at me--nobody gave me any chocolates, because I don't have any friends in Korea :). Hmm, no wonder why I always enjoy conversing with you. In fact, in Korea, everybody cares so much about love and all that mushy stuff they make up days like "White chocolate day", and "Black chocolate day," when admirers give cookies and chocolates to their girlfriends, ect, ect. I don't really care about all those days, except for Valentines day because it's most original and official and known in America, too. Well, thankyou for replying, and I am

Yours Truly,
Belle (talk) 02:39, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, Valentine's Day isn't really an official holiday in Korea, but people (well, kids, mostly), celebrate it anyway, mainly as an excuse just to eat lots of candy. ^^ Kids have all kinds of "candy days", like Bella said, and there's one called "Stick Cookie Day". There are cookies that are shaped like chocolate sticks, and they celebrate it in November 11th (Month 11 Day 11), saying that all those 1s look like sticks. But even if we didn't celebrate Valentine's Day in Korea, I think we'd still have remembered, because we used to live in America when we were little, tho' now, we have lived in Korea for almost five years...and I'm afraid I'm growing dumb at English. :) Oh, well. Happy Valentine's day once again! Classical Esther 05:23, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Joe Biden

The "Awards and Honors section" looks suspiciously like you copied it from En.wiki Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 21:03, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did. Something wrong? Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 21:04, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well...for one, I just added an awards and honors section in the "Personal Life" area. For another, it's not a good idea to copy text straight from EN-Wiki...you may want to pare it down a little and merge it with my section. Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 21:06, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have a good idea: Since mine is a little more longer and more detailed, why don't I keep mine where it is and put yours up in the introduction of the article? I will also keep simplifying mine to not look as much like ENWP version. Will this work for you? Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 21:13, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You can just kill mine, for all I care. We can't have two. Also, there are several redlinks in the references of that section...please unlink some of the references. Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 21:15, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Refs:Done But about deleting yours, I would hate to do so. Besides, shouldn't the intro to the article have a bit of all the info in the article? I think your Awards and honors paragraph would be perfect. Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 21:32, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I thought I already covered the gaffes section above. As of right now, the paragraph on gaffes is doubled, too complex, and too much like EN-wiki Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 16:43, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah. I see it now. Before I did not see it. Shall I delete my sentence about it?Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 16:51, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think I cleaned it up. We walk a fine line here...on the one hand, we want it to be complete, but on the other we don't want it to be too much like the Big Boy. BTW, you've put more talk-back templates on my page in the last two days than I've put on anybody's page ever :-D

lol! We talk up a storm! And good job summing the whole paragraph up. I'm not the best at doing so. :) Ian ♠♣♦♥ McCarty 17:02, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

References in (V)GAs

Hey, Ian. Just wanted to tell you that there is no fixed number of refs for (V)GAs. If a VGA has 10 refs which cite its entire contents, it is fine. On the other hand, GAs can have more than 50 refs if needed. For example, a page which is 3k long may need about 10 refs; however a page which is 40k long needs way more. The latter may not be up to VGA quality because of, say, red links and comprehensiveness. India is a GA with >40 references as it has 32k+ text; however, it is incomprehensive for VGA quality. Thanks for your comments in these pages and happy editing. Cheers, Pmlineditor  11:20, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Templates

Hi there. I left you a note on Talk:Chess. Cheers, Lauryn 16:52, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ian!

Sorry for bothering you on your semi-wikibreak! :)I now really think people will block me for "using Wikipedia as a social site", but I have one small suggestion? Do you think you would like to be a member of the WikiProject Baking? I need help in finding new members, it looks a bit funny without any member in it but me. I saw that you made a few articles about pies, so maybe you could be a member... It would only be an honor if you accepted the invitation. Also I wanted to inform you that I just became the member of WikiProject Chess! :) I hope I can do many edits on it, but I don't even know how to do chess.... Still, I'll put in references and correct typos, stub-sort, and expand. Thankyou! Just letting you know. If you think I'm too bad at things or unexperienced and unworthy to be a member of the WikiProject Chess, just tell me! Thanks! Belle (talk) 12:55, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would love to join! Thank you. I don't know much about baking but I can surely simplify info from EN. BTW, welcome to Wikiproject Chess. I-on|I-Гalk |I-PrФjecГ 16:05, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How kind of you! :) And thankyou for your various sweet edits on Carrot Cake! Belle (talk) 02:35, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It was fun. I plan to fix up Cookie next. BTW, nice welcome template and thanks. --I-on|I-Гalk |I-PrФjecГ 15:11, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wonderful work on Cookie, Ian! You are one smart cookie. :P I think you're one of the most participating members in WikiProject Baking! :D I'm trying to fix Chess in the meantime. Please keep up the good work and God bless! Belle (talk) 03:57, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Admin

I saw on your user page that you wanted to become an admin some day. You're getting good at things, and I think you're skilled enough to become one maybe. Are you interested? If you want, I can nominate you, or, ask the people... :) If you want to, tell me. Belinda 02:35, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I'm so sorry, Ian, but in the Admin rules - I just checked - it says that only users that have e-mail adresses can become an admin. Last time Megan told me you didn't have an e-mail, so... Too bad. If you still want to be an admin, maybe you can make an email, or if you don't want to become an admin, feel free to tell me! BTW, you don't need to leave the message "you have new messages on Ian's talk page" because I'll check it on my watchist anyway. Thanks! Belinda 10:15, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think she means have an email stated in Special:Preferences (or settings, rather) in the input box and have it verified when the system sends an automated email which has a link to confirm the newly added email address for wikipedia. The email is just used for contacting a user by Special:Emailuser, a private way to talk to the person without the user being addressed not having to disclose their email address. Nifky^ 10:24, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I believe I confirmed my email. But one other issue is that it is preferred I be a named user for at least three months. I have been a named user for about two. Would you people still support me in adminship? BTW, thank you Belinda for willing to nominate me in adminship. I don't know if I will accept or decline. I will have to see what other wikipedians think. I-on|I-Гalk |I-PrФjecГ 16:51, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh... :( Too bad! Okay, I'll wait a month or so and then I'll ask for you. By that time, I hope you will be even more improved, because to my opinion you're already good enough, but the community may not think so just yet. I hope it'll succeed! BTW, is it true that you're only twelve? I can't believe it! You speak so kindly and politely, you don't sound like a boy at all! :) Well, anyway, God bless! Belinda 04:00, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(e/c)::I would say one reason running for adminship after three months (preferred) is ideal because other users may think you're only barging in for the tool with making a lot of edit in two months only. There's no limit to people running before the three months (as I've seen with random users running for adminship in a week with a snow close) but it's up to you whether you feel ready or not. I've been in this project for just over a year and don't feel satisfied yet with my amount of edits here, but that's just me. You're free to make your own judgements on your ability to run for admin or not. Nifky^ 05:02, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was sysopped after 7 months and around 1200 edits, but like Nifky? said, everyone and every situation is different and it is ultimately up to you if you feel ready or not. Lauryn (utc) 05:04, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, I really don't know how Ian feels for himself. Thankyou, Nifky? and Lauryn, you both are so helpful and kind in these hard discussions I don't know a thing about! I'll just have to wait for Ian to reply if he is ready or not :) Belinda 12:17, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I trust you enough to support you if you run now, but I think it would be wiser to wait a little longer so the community as a whole can get to know you a bit better. Belinda has professed herself very willing to nominate you any time you wish, so I think a little more time and participation will surely earn you the mop one day. God bless, Classical Esther 08:17, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I will only run for adminship now if everyone in this discussion would support me. If not, please give a reason why and how I can improve. Thx everyone, I-on|I-Гalk |I-PrФjecГ 16:30, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am a default support !vote for just about anyone who I think won't break the Wiki, so you probably should not read to much into that. Lauryn (utc) 17:21, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I will probably wait a few weeks before running. In that time I will work on expanding my article and wikipedia namespaces. thank you all for your help! I-on|I-Гalk |I-PrФjecГ 19:45, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, tell me please when you think you are ready. Then, I will ask for you!! :) I hope I can be of some help 'round here. Belinda 03:13, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
