Hi, TDKR. I wanted to let you know that I removed your recent changes to this article, because they were not in simple language. Feel free to put them back if you simplify the language. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:12, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

RfD nomination of Julian Castro 2020 presidential campaign

An editor has requested deletion of Julian Castro 2020 presidential campaign, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2019/Julian Castro 2020 presidential campaign and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. Administratorship

I'v been thinking this for a while but how are you not an admin? You have 87,000 edits and are a value to this Wikipedia. Do you just not want adminship? IWI (chat) 23:08, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You're more than worthy IMO. The only thing that could hold you back is the political infoboxes, although I doubt this would have an effect. I can't foresee a basis for oppose. IWI (chat) 23:14, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@ImprovedWikiImprovment: I am very politically active and proud of it, but also a dedicated Simple Wiki User. If needed I would remove any political info from my User page, but I would love to have the honor of being an admin. This year I will push myself to become an admin. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 23:17, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you are successful. I would nominate you, although it seems you don't want that yet. Like I said, I find it very hard to believe, looking at recent RFAs, that you would be opposed. IWI (chat) 23:22, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@ImprovedWikiImprovment: I would be honored to be nominated for adminship at any given time. Thank you for the opportunity! --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 23:26, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Okay then:). You're also being very humble here, which is a good sign. IWI (chat) 23:31, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) @ImprovedWikiImprovment: Since TDKR was nominated before, you might have to create the nomination page a bit differently from the usual way because a previous nomination page already exists. --Auntof6 (talk) 23:39, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I have, its located at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/TDKR Chicago 101 1 (I think that's the custom). All you have to do is officially accept. IWI (chat) 23:44, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest you participate in some AFDs and revert some vandalism by watching the Recent Changes page. Ensure you put warnings on the user's talk pages by using the warning templates at the bottom of this page. Doing these things now, during the discussion will increase your chances of success. IWI (chat) 11:56, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You would make an excellent administrator, TDKR! You've done pretty good work here! Keep it up! Angela Maureen (talk) 13:55, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It’d be interesting to see your input on the current request for admin ship then, September 1988. IWI (chat) 14:19, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wish

Hello. Help improve for article en:Maureen Wroblewitz. Thanks you.Mailien12 (talk) 04:21, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Result: not successful, but don’t be disheartened

You should take this result as positive criticism, as opposed to a failure. Here are the things you should do if you want to become an administrator in the future:

These things will increase your chances hugely since they were the only things holding you back. Regards, IWI (chat) 16:07, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Weather

I just realised that you probably live in Chicago by your name. If so, how did you deal with that? I thought 0°C (32°F) was cold over here in the UK. Anyways, stay safe. IWI (chat) 08:42, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • @ImprovedWikiImprovment: - It's pretty intense, but we're used to it. 32°F over here is grilling season for us! What does get annoying is that your hands get numb like every four minutes, but once again we're used to it. The wind chills are intense! Our houses are pretty insulated and heated so we could deal the cold. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 08:45, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
On the rare occasion we do get a little bit of snow (like an inch), motorways come to a standstill and schools close (exactly what’s happening today). It’s safe to say we couldn’t deal with it. There’s no way trains would be running, like they were in Chicago. Anyway, looks like it’s warming up a little over there, so should be over. IWI (chat) 09:12, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

North Macedonia article

I noticed you had moved the article... did you note this discussion? Operator873talkconnect 20:16, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

When you bring a page over from enwiki, even a dab page, it needs to be checked. This page is using a template we don't have and it uses the term film director which should be changed to movie director. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 19:44, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me TDKR: I was creating the page Christchurch mosque shootings at the same time you were. How did that happen? Angela Maureen (talk) 07:35, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Asking for Advice

Hello, this is user:19chseld 408 that is working on a project by exploring Wikipedia and writing an article about a female author. So I want some advice on improving my Wikipedia article since you did so many edits on the "Ronald Reagan" article.

19chseld 408 (talk) 18:58, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Alan García

Hey TDKR, how are ya? As I have an extremely limited knowledge Spanish speaking skills, would you be able to help me confirm this source about Alan García's apparent death? Thanks, —Jonny Nixon (talk) 14:54, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, death confirmed by numerous sources including NYT, BBC, AP, etc. —Jonny Nixon (talk) 16:10, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm very well thanks, don't apologise its no problem at all. Thanks, —Jonny Nixon (talk) 21:19, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Death articles

Every link on those pages were notable, that is the requirement to get on the page on en.wiki which is where the page was imported from. The Death/Birth articles are very good examples of where there should be red links because it shows us the notable articles we are missing and should be creating. -DJSasso (talk) 11:09, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you for helping me expand the Deaths in 2016 articles! Eventually I'll create all red linked articles from July 2016 to December 2016 however some articles may be notable at English, but some won't be here (ex: article only have one line, one reference, may be redirected, etc.). I've been doing it like that since Deaths in 2015 I believe with help from Mr. Jonny Nixon! Trust me all your hardwork will be worth it once Deaths in 2016 is finally completed like the other death pages. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 11:13, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please take a little more care with the references on this page? You are consistently causing it to be in Category:Pages with reference errors. Thanks Nunabas (talk) 15:07, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Lots of new pages, lots of hard words

Hi, TDKR Chicago 101. I think it's great that you're adding so many new pages here! But the words you use are not simple. The English in them is like the regular English Wikipedia, and that's not so good. I see I'm not the first one to say this to you. Auntof6 said it here and here.

You are making very many new pages, and you're making them so fast. If I went after you and tried to make every one simple, I could not keep up. You have been here some time, and I think you know that there is no deadline. Would you please slow down, and use simple English? Thank you. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 10:30, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Just a couple of notes:

  • The expression is "shy of", not "shy from"
  • That expression isn't simple anyway, so I changed it to "before"

As always, any questions, feel free to ask. --Auntof6 (talk) 11:09, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A quick thanks for the articles you create. --Wyatt2049 | (Talk) or (Stalk) 16:20, 12 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Asian Month 2019 potential organizers for Simple English Wikipedia

Good afternoon, TDKR Chicago 101. Are you interested in organizing Wikipedia Asian Month 2019 with me in this Wikipedia? Here are the guidelines. —Wei4Green#TeamTrees🌲 20:44, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsimple language

Hi, TDKR. I noticed that you added text to some articles about actors saying that they are "set to play" certain roles. That phrasing is not simple. I suggest saying something like "going to play" instead. I've seen many examples (not necessarily in your changes) of us using language that is commonly seen in news media but which is either complex or jargon, and it would be good to avoid that. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 06:37, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
