Prior to nominating article(s) for deletion, please be sure to:

A. Read and understand these policies and guidelines

The Wikipedia deletion policy, which explains valid grounds for deletion.
The main four guidelines and policies that inform deletion discussions: notability (WP:N), verifiability (WP:V), reliable sources (WP:RS), and what Wikipedia is not (WP:NOT)
Subject-specific notability guidelines, which can be found at Category:Wikipedia notability guidelines

B. Carry out these checks

Confirm that the article does not meet the criteria for quick deletion.
If there are verifiability, notability or other sourcing concerns, take reasonable steps to search for reliable sources. (See step D.)
Review the article's history to check for potential vandalism or poor editing.
Read the article's talk page for previous nominations and/or that your objections haven't already been dealt with.
Check "What links here" in the article's sidebar, to see how the page is used and referenced within Wikipedia.
Check if there are interlanguage links, also in the sidebar, which may lead to more developed and better sourced articles. Likewise, search for native-language sources if the subject has a name in a non-Latin alphabet (such as Japanese or Greek), which is often in the lead.

C. Consider whether the article could be improved rather than deleted

If the article can be fixed through normal editing, then it is not a candidate for RfD.
If the article was recently created, please consider allowing the contributors more time to develop the article.
If an article has issues try first raising your concerns on the article's talk page, with the main contributors, and/or adding a cleanup tag, such as {{notability}}, {{hoax}}, {{original research}}, or {{advert}}; this ensures readers are aware of the problem and may act to fix it.
If the topic is not important enough to merit an article on its own, consider merging or redirecting to an existing article. This should be done particularly if the topic name is a likely search term.

D. Search for additional sources, if the main concern is notability

The minimum search expected is a normal Google search, a Google Books search, a Google News search, and a Google News archive search; Google Scholar is suggested for academic subjects.
If you find a lack of sources, you've completed basic due diligence before nominating. However, if a quick search does find sources, this does not always mean an RfD on a sourcing basis is unwarranted. If you spend more time examining the sources, and determine that they are insufficient, e.g., because they only contain passing mention of the topic, then an RfD nomination may still be appropriate.
If you find that adequate sources do appear to exist, the fact that they are not yet present in the article is not a proper basis for a nomination. Instead, you should consider citing the sources, or at minimum apply an appropriate template to the page that flags the sourcing concern. Common templates include {{unreferenced}}, {{refimprove}}, {{third-party}}, {{primary sources}} and {{one source}}.

Discussed deletion

Put the deletion tag on the article.

Click "Change source" at the top of the page to be deleted.
In the edit box, add this tag: {{rfd|REASON}}. Put it at the top of the page, above the rest of the text. Then, replace the text "REASON" with a short reason why the page should be deleted. Do not be too specific here. You can add more details on the discussion page (see below).
- It is a good idea to write a change summary to let others know what you are doing. You can say "nominating for deletion", "requesting deletion", or something like that.
Click "Save changes" at the bottom to save the page with the deletion tag at the top.
- You can also check the "Watch this page" check box to add the page to your watchlist. This lets you know if the page for deletion has been changed. If the deletion tag is removed any time before the discussion is closed, it should be put back.

Create a discussion page.

If the deletion tag has been added to the page, a box should appear at the top of the article with a link saying "Click here to create a discussion page!" Click that link.
You should be taken to a page starting with "Creating Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/..." along with the current year and the name of the article to be deleted. In the edit box, the following tag should have already been added: {{RfD/Preload/Template}} . Replace the text PLACE REASON HERE with a more detailed reason why the page should be deleted.
- It is helpful to include links to the various policy pages about Wikipedia (that begin with Wikipedia:). Here are some examples of this: "This article is [[Wikipedia:COMPLEX|not easy to understand]]" or "Not a [[Wikipedia:notable|notable]] topic''. This will make others more aware of why the page is not acceptable under Wikipedia's policies.
Click "Save changes" to save the new discussion page when you are done.
- A change summary you can write for this page is "creating discussion page", "starting deletion discussion", or something like that.
- As with the page for deletion, you can check the "Watch the page" box. This will let you know if someone else has replied to your discussion.

List it here

Copy the title of the discussion page to the clipboard. You can do this by dragging the mouse over the text from "Wikipedia" to the end of the page title to highlight it, then right-clicking and selecting "Copy".
Go to the list of deletion requests, and click "change source" beside the words "Current deletion request discussions".
At the top of the list of discussions, paste the title from the clipboard (right-click and select "Paste"). Add a pair of curly brackets before and after the title to make a template that will copy the content of the discussion page onto the main deletion page, like this:

Finally, click "Save changes" to add the discussion to the list. If the page saves successfully, you should see your deletion discussion at the top of the list. And that's it!

If this is too complicated for you, there are some gadgets like Twinkle that you can use. This allows you to do it faster.

Quick deletion

If you think a page has nonsense content, add {{non}} to the top of the page.

If you think a page does not say why the subject is important, add {{notable}} to the top of the page.

If you think a page should be deleted per other quick deletion rules, add {{QD|reason}} to the top of the page.

Notifying the user

Generally, you should try to be civil and tell the user that created the page to join the discussion talking about the page. This can be done by adding {{subst:RFDNote|page to be deleted}} ~~~~ to the bottom of their talkpage.

Discussions

The discussion is not a vote. Please make suggestions on what action to take, and support your suggestion with reasons.
Please look at the article before you make a suggestion. Do not make an opinion using only the information given by the nominator. Looking at the history of the article may help to understand the situation.
Please read other comments and suggestions. They may have helpful information.
Start your comments or suggestions on a new line. Start with * and sign after your comment by adding ~~~~ to the end. If you are responding to another editor, put your comment directly below theirs and make sure your comment is indented (using more than one *).
New users can make suggestions, but their ideas may not be considered, especially if the suggestion seems to be made in bad faith. The opinion of users who had an account before the start of the request may be given more weight or importance.
Suggestions by users using "sock puppets" (more than one account belonging to the same person) will not be counted.
Please make only one suggestion. If you change your mind, change your first idea instead of adding a new one. The best way to do this is to put <s> before your old idea and </s> after it. For example, if you wanted to delete an article but now think it should be kept, you could put: "~~Delete~~ keep".
If you would like an article to be kept, you can improve the article and try to fix the problems given in the request for deletion. If the reasons given in the nomination are fixed by changing, the nomination can be withdrawn by the nominator, and the deletion discussion will be closed by an administrator.
Try to avoid confusing suggestions, such as delete and merge.
Requests for deletion is not a war zone. You can click here for more information, although the page is not in Simple English.

Remember: You do not have to make a suggestion for every nomination. You should think about not making a suggestion if:

A nomination involves a topic that you do not know much about.
Everyone has made the same suggestion and you agree with that suggestion.

BlackJack has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: Delete. Fails GNG. Cricketer who has never played in first-class matches, and is unlikely to. Malawi is a minor team in international cricket. It does compete in Twenty20 Internationals, but not at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, and it does not have the ICC's ODI status which defines a major team.

In addition, Sami Sohail at enwiki is a redirect to a list of Malawian cricketers, although you may disregard that fact as what happens on another wiki doesn't have to apply here. By the way, I did submit this to QD/A4 but playing for an international team does constitute a notability claim, which is fair enough. Here, though, we need to think about the notability of the team as well as of the player.

Here's examples:

"On May 15, 1915, they advanced towards Mahabad with their cavalry and clashed with Kurdish groups near Amirabad. They pushed them back and captured Mahabad that day. Almost no one remained in Savujbulag or the city of Mahabad." - That's the entirety of the coverage in "The Political Situation in..." which is cited 3 times in the article.

"In 1915, the Russian army massacred the male population of Sauj Bulaq (Mahabad) and took away about two hundred women for abuse." - That's the entirety of the coverage in "Encyclopedia of Women..."

"World War I left Kurdistan devastated, with two major massacres by the Russian Army in Sauj Bulagh (now Mahabad) and Rawandiz." - That's the entirety of the coverage in "Encyclopedia of Diasporas..."

Delete and recategorise entries. I have wondered about that title, but left it on the backburner. Uranium has position 92, and is the last element that can be found in abundance in nature. The two following ones Neptunium (93) and Plutonium (94) occur in traces in nature. In 1940, two scientists bombarded uranium with electrons; it transformed to neptunium, and later to plutonium. One ton of used fuel for nuclear power plants will contain about 500 grams of neptunium. For the next one, Americium we get about 100 grams of it, in used reactor fuel. Next one, Curium (97) -20g from a ton of used fuel. Yes, we can continue bombarding these elements with electrons, and we will get new ones. I wrote about Oganesson (118), where we have half-lives of less than a millisecond. From the position in the periodic table, we can likely deduce certain properties. The elements listed above are selections from position 129 to 192 of the periodic table. The problem however, is half-lives: While in theory these elements have physical properties (related to their position in the table), with their half-lives they simply don't exist long enough that these properties can be deduced. I am not a chemist by profession; from a theoretical point of view these elements may be interesting, but in practical terms, they likley do ont have applications. Wikipedia is not for primary research, so I will be frank: These elements have names which are translations from their positions in the periodic table, they have not been synthesized, and no properties of them are known. So, I would say we delete these. I would even go further and say that this applies to all chemical elements that have not been created yet. Delete due to verifiability issues. The first source does mention them with a different spelling (Shahryar) but only mentions them as a candidate and not an election winner. I can't find any evidence anywhere that this show actually exists. Russian Wikipedia and IMDb show zero related results. Many of the people who supposedly worked on it don't seem to exist, or if they do, there's no mention of them working on this anywhere. Searching for Ivan Kuvaev (who isn't actually the creator of Oggy and the Cockroaches) only pulls up unrelated people. I'm fairly sure this is a hoax, but if anyone has Russian-language sources about it I might have overlooked, please post them here or on the article itself. Delete Don't you just love it when a single point of failure fails and half of the internet goes down? The only way I can access some of these sources is through the wayback machine. Source 1 is a guide on how to use Cleanbrowsing, it does not on its own establish notability. Source 2 is a first-party source which immediately excludes it from being used to establish notability. Source 3 compares Cleanbrowsing with other services, and while it says that Cleanbrowsing performed the best, it does not have anything in-depth to talk about Cleanbrowsing. Source 4 is a podcast and those are usually not reviewed by an editorial board and isn't the most reliable. Source 5 isn't loading for me through the wayback machine. Source 6 isn't in-depth either and only mentions it in a top $n$ list. Source 7 is a review of the service but doesn't explain why it's notable. Your reasons are not strong, and here is why. So let’s uncover your reasons; the argument back then was that there weren’t any strong sources, however what sources they used back in 2023 on regular English Wikipedia is none of my concern now. Fyi, you shouldn’t compare English Wikipedia standards to the ones on Simple English Wikipedia. They were clear on bringing the page back if it had strong enough sources, which it now does on here. I don’t fully understand what you meant with source 4 and 13, but the source covers the massacre pretty well to me. How about you lay notice to the fact that I used more than enough reliable and academic sources for this massacre to be on Simple English Wikipedia. I can gladly add another Cambridge University Book or two (which will not be necessary) that mentions and/or cover the massacre. Anyhow, I’d say that my final conclusion is that we already have undeniable sources of this massacre taking place, and I have even more that I haven’t added yet. Sources like Edward William Charles Noel for example, a British spy which could not be labeled a Pro-Turk, wrote of this massacre very well, and he collected the testimony of the Kurdish civil population. An article draft, not this article or similar, for the same person was deleted from Wikipedia in a mass deletion related to the user who posted it; it appears around 200 articles/drafts by that user were deleted at once.

The books are not self-published; a publisher is listed.

CRIME/BLPCRIME don't apply here, as this is not an article about a criminal. The legal proceedings are suitable for inclusion as one case set precedent in the Supreme Court and is notable country-wide, not just on Wikipedia, and the other arrest is suitably novel as it is not a common crime, and received coverage on Australia's largest news channels. This is not an article about a criminal, it is about an author and activist.

The sources are solid, including government listings, official case law links, bibliographic data from physical retailers, and national news coverage. This meets WP:GNG and relies on WP:RS.

Max Freedom Pollard is already listed in Marquis Whos Who, and other biographical collections.

An author with multiple academic positions at a top 100 university and at least one other public library, whose cases have set precedent, and who has been widely covered in the media, is clearly notable.

Keep. Pollard has been the subject of national media coverage about AK47 siege, is separately named in a precedent-setting Supreme Court case about whistleblowing, and is independently documented as an author/activist/academic w/ both government and uni credentials, so he appears to meet the general notability guideline rather than being notable solely for one event. CAW, it appears you're mistaken about the books being self published at least. The article deleted on Wiki is not an article but a draft, which is highly unusual, and "2025-32548-14"'s explanation that it was the user whose articles were deleted en masse, rather than the article itself, explains that. That's just not true, the books aren't self published and there are sources in more categories.

As both his books appear to introduce new theories, the relevant category might be WP:CREATIVE, of which author is a subcategory, however I'm not sure what category would really be most relevant. A look at ORCID shows three university affiliations verified, an academic paper with cambridge, and cites.

That's a draft. It looks like the author of the draft was nuked, along with all articles including drafts, but that article was different to this article anyway.

Delete This has turned into a vote and attack on the nominator rather than actually addressing the core of what this RfD is about. Fails WP:GNG/WP:BIO1E by a mile, coverage is only related to an arrest and we generally don't write articles about people who have been arrested like this, especially when it is written in a light that leans towards Pollard as opposed to being neutrally written. Just want to also address the comment above: yes, it was a draft, and it was still deleted for notability concerns even as a draft which is actually quite rare. Source 1 is not about the subject himself, but an interview with the subject about crypto prices. This is neither in-depth with respect to the subject nor is it independent of the subject. Source 2 suffers the same problem as source 1. Source 3 is an interview with the subject which again makes this not independent from the subject. Source 4 is honestly no better than a passing mention, as this article is not about the subject. I do not see anything that is in-depth with respect to the subject here. Source 5 looks long, surely it has something in-depth about the subject? No. Only a few mentions that do not establish his notability at all. Source 6 suffers the same problem as source 5. Finally we hit source 7, a source that's actually about the subject himself and not about events that the subject is involved in. Is it usable?
