Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to navigation Jump to search

CheckUser is the process of checking information about two or more users (including named users and IPs). Special users are able to check if two or more accounts have been used from the same computer. These users also see User agents. This can help them decide if two accounts are related in the way described above. It is also possible to see if a user is editing from an open proxy.

On this page, users can request some users or IPs to be checked. Good reasons should be given for why a checkuser is needed; you should provide links which show the questionable edits, etc. Questions should usually be created so that they can be answered by yes or no. Responses will be short in order to comply with Wikipedia privacy policy. Sensitive information (like the IP addresses used by an account) are usually not reported. The results are not always clear, and a decision should not be made only on the basis of checkuser results.

Use of the tool[change source]

This tool is to be used to fight vandalism, to check for sockpuppet abuse, and to limit disruption of the project. It must be used only to prevent damage to the project.

The tool should not be used for political control; to apply pressure on editors; or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to check a user. Note that alternative accounts are not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of the policies (for example, to vote more than once or to make it look like more people support an idea). Checkusers will refuse a request, if the reason for checking is not good enough to warrant the use of the tool.

Please see the CheckUser policy for all the rules related to CheckUser.

Ngozikalu862[change source]

Ngozikalu appears to be back at it again with the sockpuppet accounts. He recently copied and pasted Artemije Radosavljević article from EnWiki to here (I simplified the article). Ngozikalu has already had two of his accounts blocked and I'm sure this new "Ngozikalu862" account is another case of sockpuppetry. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 06:40, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Blocked - I believe there is enough evidence to show this is a sockpuppet account. Peterdownunder (talk) 10:48, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Please i request you to check the User:Kashish pall in simple english wikipedia, This user was missbehaving me in my simple wikipedia talkpage, here is the evidence here

For further information, see this case at SPI. This account is reported at meta for a global lock, but there is a bit of a backlog there, so that may not be dealt with for a few days. Dreamy Jazz talk | contributons 11:42, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
Looking. Vermont (talk) 13:04, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
Dreamy Jazz and CuteMeow, there is no evidence, at present, of Kashish pall abusing multiple accounts on the Simple English Wikipedia. Elsewhere, it seems so, but their enwiki block was made on behavioral evidence. The other accounts listed on the enwiki SPI which are registered on this project are all stale. There is nothing for me to do from a checkuser perspective; however, as a regular admin, their edits here have been more unhelpful than not, their language knowledge does not seem sufficient to write Simple English articles (which generally requires native and/or a formal education in English to aptly manage Simple English word choice and grammatical formats), and they are eligible for WP:ONESTRIKE. CuteMeow, if you do not want Kashish pall to edit your talk page, please ask them to stop. If they continue after being asked to stop, they can be blocked for harassment reasons. If you suspect any specific accounts on this project are sockpuppets of Kashish pall, please let me know and I can look into it further. Thank you for reporting, and happy editing! Ok Thanks Vermont CuteMeow (talk) 13:33, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
Dear Vermont and Dreamy Jazz, As i see today User:Kashish pall was trying to make the page Sandeep Maheshwari, When i check the log of the that page in English wikipedia that page was deleted seven times from year 2013 to 2020 and again the User:Kashish pall has made the same page. I think this user have some personal connection with that page here so please check and let me know

Chobber Sidhu xWiki Sockpuppetry[change source]

Please see edit history for Chobber Sidhu, only named editors are VcFilms (Who I suspect of sockpuppetry) and Epsons digital Entertainment, a confirmed sockpuppet of Chobber Sidhu0.

  • Quacking very loudly, I have blocked VcFilms as an advertising-only account, anyway. --Chenzw  Talk  03:53, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

The account has not acted on EN yet; as a local sysop here I am unwilling to interfere in EN's affairs unless there is ongoing abuse. Perhaps a CU might want to look into this. Chenzw  Talk  05:05, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Emran AlTamimi[change source]

Both users happened to be on the same RFD. Both voted "keep" on the RFD, and The Named account only has edits to the rfd and the article, that they created, which was being listed at RFD. The IP has their only edits, as a "Keep" vote to the RFD. It is also interesting that both users ended their vote with "(" perma link here, which suggests that they are the same person? --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 21:20, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

  • Hello there, Checkuserpolicy does not allow me to directly link an IP address and a username. Sorry. --Eptalon (talk) 01:17, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
Eptalon So there is no other way to check then? --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 01:19, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
There is no need. Remember, an RfD is about looking at arguments, not about counting. Also, the comments of users with very few edits may or may not be counted (in most cases: they aren't); in general, anonymous users are not really allowed to vote in an RfD; their comment will be counted as a comment...--Eptalon (talk) 01:24, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

The user was blocked by Operator873 but today another user by the name Ngozikalu903 (similar name) is conducting the same edits to Deaths in 2020. To be honest, the 2nd account is blocked for bad username and the blocking admin allow them in the block notice to create a new account. I don't think is socking but just spamming. I will rather someone to block the 2nd account as spam only (per enwp too) now. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 13:12, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

Based on technical and behavioral information, I'm inclined to believe it's either the same person or meatpuppets. As such, I'm imposing a CU-block on both accounts. Thank you for reporting, Vermont (talk) 15:39, 10 October 2020 (UTC
@Vermont: Thank you. In terms of the RfD votes, are they invalid as a result? If so perhaps they should be striken. --IWI (talk) 16:03, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

B33ZYWithTheBAG[change source]

Both edited articles on the same spam subject. --IWI (talk) 12:52, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

It is possible that they're the same user, though the available technical information is insufficient to come to a distinct conclusion on that. If it's not the same person, then they're likely meatpuppets. Vermont (talk) 15:06, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
And I've non-CU blocked both for spam. Vermont (talk) 15:07, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Ali Sarhan Shamran [change source]

Both users exclusively edited this article (or the talk page). Seems SPA. Requesting CU as the placing of wait templates and talk page discussions seems to be influencing the outcome of deletion, against sock policies. There had also been IPs editing. I know CU cannot reveal IP addresses, but might be of a look (using behavioural etc). Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 16:13, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

Also adding the user at the top (Madonna1992), which is now a globally locked account, as they created the original page. As the bottom user (Rashmika Rashmika) first created Sam Pio, and Samantha Ismael Gabriel Pio was recreated by Madonna1992, there is a sufficient link to add for CU also. --IWI (talk) 13:03, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

MewSic[change source]

Both are involved in creating and saving Jalen McMillan MewSic created the article. When the article was nominated for QD, StokerB appealed and added wait tag unto it, and argued for it in its talk page. Very odd for a new account to just immediately jump on such discussions unless they’re one and the same. --Infogapp1 (talk) 16:29, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

Nithiin1983[change source]

This involves cross-wiki spam here and EN, so the evidences cross over in both projects. If not CU, simple quack test may help. Both accounts are involved in editing Siddesh_Bhagat. Nithiin1983 was recently blocked here. The same account is known to create nothing but promotional articles on EN. See SPI thread on EN. Then, DarknetQueen joins and removed the RfD for an article which Nithiin1983 started on EN (now deleted) and Wikidata. DarkQueen also recently added a keep vote on another RfD thread of an article started by Nithiin1983. DarkQueen's signature is also eerily similar to that of Nithiin1983. Now, this DarknetQueen has also started creating nothing but very promotional and borderline hoax pages here. — Infogapp1 (talk) 16:41, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
