2023–24 UEFA Champions League group stage

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2023–24 UEFA Champions League group stage started on 19 September 2023 and will finish on 13 December 2023. There are 32 teams playing in the group stage to figure out which 16 teams will move on to the next round of the 2023–24 UEFA Champions League.

Union Berlin and Antwerp are playing in the group stage for the first time. This is the first time Antwerp, a team from Belgium, has been in the European Cup since they got eliminated in the first round during the 1957–58 season. It's also the first time for Union Berlin, a team from Germany. In total, there are teams from 15 different countries in the group stage.

This is the last season with the group stage format. Next season, they'll use a different format called the league phase.
