The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad is a 1949 American animated movie. It was made by Walt Disney Productions. The movie was released to theaters on October 5, 1949 by RKO Radio Pictures. The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad was re-issued to theaters in June 19, 1959, June 23, 1961, January 1, 1970, November 25, 1987 and May 15, 1992. The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad was re-issued in the United Kingdom on June 23, 1971.
There are two parts in the movie. Both are based on popular works of literature. The story of Mr. Toad is based on Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows. The story of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman is based on Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad was Disney's last animated anthology movie released under the Hays Code.
