Template Adobe Systems

I'm do anything wrong to creating that template. Please speedy delete it? It's failing G7.--KbereskaistvBM (talk) 07:19, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. Osiris (talk) 07:43, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removing nominations

Is it perfectly fine to remove my own nominations from the GA process if there is no reviews? So like instead of saying withdraw, I can just remove them? Best, Jonatalk to me 12:45, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah sure, go ahead. Osiris (talk) 12:48, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A redirect

After noticing the overlap between Type (biology) and Type species, I decided to redirect the first to the second. Type species is the better page, and the name is also better. Can you do your thing and merge the histories? Thanks. Macdonald-ross (talk) 10:11, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, standby for a sec. Osiris (talk) 10:12, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

Hi Osiris, thanks for the welcome :) Callanecc (talk) 13:47, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!

Thank you for the message User: Osiris! I have enabled enabled e-mail notifications already. I had been watching well-written articles on Simple Wikipedia before I can start writing them myself. I shall surely need your help in days to come, thank you for extending help! --Netha Hussain (talk) 18:29, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, Netha Hussain! Happy to help in any way you need. Look forward to seeing your work. Osiris (talk) 18:36, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback?

Hi, Osiris! Just reaching out asking if you could enable rollback on my account - I know have quite a small amount of edits over here, but I'm very active over at the English Wikipedia, but just ran into the SEW a few days ago - seems like a noble project indeed, and I'd love to assist - however not having the rollback ability has been a bit difficult (to adapt from en, where I have it) - could you enable it? Thanks! Theopolisme (talk!) 20:21, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Remember to only use it on vandalism. Good-faith reverts will need a reason in the edit summary. Osiris (talk) 09:06, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

U.S. State Userboxes

On the regular English Wikipedia, there are certain Userboxes that describe the U.S. State in which a particular Wikipedian lives (for example: Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska). Is there some way you can import such Userboxes to Simple English? September 1988 (talk) 17:32, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Angela. Which one do you want to use? I don't like seeing unused userbox templates lying around, but I'll import the one(s) you're going to use. Osiris (talk) 17:35, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to use the Iowa Userbox because I'm in the State of Iowa. September 1988 (talk) 17:40, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There you go! Use {{User Iowa}}. Osiris (talk) 17:46, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Perms

Hi! I requested rollback perms in the page.I have over 4400 edits in en with rollback and reviewer flags. Please enable rollback.BTW I created 14 articles here.So..can I be given Patroller right?..I have reviewer right in en which is similar to this. Regards Srikar Kashyap 16:10, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well... If you've left a request at RFR someone will come along soon enough and look at it. Since you haven't actually made any reverts here yet for me to look at, I'm not really willing to do it myself. I don't really like flagging new editors as patrolled. I mean... looking at your most recent handful of articles, they still need patrolling. There weren't any categories, interwikis, stub tags or references; and they were all one or two sentences long... Writing articles in simple is totally different from any other language, so your pages will probably still need patrolling until you get a bit more experience. Osiris (talk) 06:41, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Judgment

Your words here were especially helpful because the concepts are difficult. Thank you for helping to bring a kind of focus to the problems and issues. This helps in developing a path towards better judgment. --Horeki (talk) 13:24, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, Horeki! The articles look really good. Osiris (talk) 12:49, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deserved

The Working Man's Barnstar
For Osiris, who continues to amaze me with the range of his contributions. Where he finds time to eat or sleep I do not know. And he understands templates, which after four years still leave me puzzled. Everytime I check on something Osiris has either fixed it, improved it, created it, and with vandalism reverted it. Thanks for the incredible energy that you have brought to the whole project. Peterdownunder (talk) 12:35, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Wow! I think this might be the nicest message anyone has ever left here. Thank you Peter! Osiris (talk) 12:49, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Taxobox-related categories

I've been looking at the articles in these wanted categories:

  • Taxoboxes needing a status system parameter‏‎ (99 members)
  • Taxoboxes with an unrecognised status system‏‎ (11 members)

I was looking at the articles in these. It looks like an article can be put in either an IUCN status category (such as Category:IUCN Red List endangered species‎) or a non-IUCN status category (such as Category:Endangered species), based on whether certain IUCN values are specified. I'm inclined to create these categories. Where would you suggest putting them -- under article issues, maybe? --Auntof6 (talk) 11:00, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah that sounds good. Looks like this one may also be needed. Can you put them in Category:Articles with infobox errors as well as Article issues? I'll have a look into the problem sometime tomorrow. Osiris (talk) 11:07, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done. --Auntof6 (talk) 11:11, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to your Comment

Yes because I was going to make Nordic Football Championship tournament pages today, so basically the category will have more by the end of today. --VladDoskov (talk) 14:45, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletions

This articles: Specialized city + Jerusalem Historical City Hall Building + World Bible Center + Kiryat HaLeom‎ i wrote all by myself in all wikipedia's. i hope you can bring it back. פארוק (talk) 22:44, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's good, but you didn't write them in the same language on all Wikipedias did you? Each Wikipedia is written in a different language. Osiris (talk) 22:46, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I can restore them to your userspace if you'd like. That way you can work on simplifying them until they're ready. Osiris (talk) 22:49, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I allready translat them from Hebrew to English. פארוק (talk) 22:53, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, but this is the Simple English Wikipedia. It's written in Basic English, not regular English. Your articles were mostly too complex for this project. Osiris (talk) 22:56, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Note

May I ask you to look into user:BlackGem, who is creating a lot of pages but is not following our procedure. The articles I checked are unacknowledged from English wiki, editing panel not filled in, and articles poorly simplified. He does not respond to notes on his talk page, and has not filled in his user page. I wonder whether the system knows him under a different handle. Anyway, this is more your territory than mine, for I think a bit of admin attention is needed. Macdonald-ross (talk) 08:14, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've never been able to talk to BlackGem, so I'm not sure if s/he is even seeing the messages. If we get a reply, I'll be able to explain things but I'm not confident that we will. The only major concern I can see is the lack of any references whatsoever... I won't comment on how complex the writing is, but I've always thought that BlackGem's work was original, since I've never seen any correlation to the enwiki versions or anything else online. I've left an explanation of attribution just in case though. Osiris (talk) 23:51, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to Hello

Hi Osiris. You asked me where I get my information from? Well, I look on the internet and in books for information. Is that okay? BlackGem (talk) 08:27, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

BlackGem! Hi! Yes -- these can be a great source of reference! But what I mean is... unless you put the title or link on the page, other editors and people who read your work won't know where you got the information from. If someone thinks what you've written is wrong, they won't have any proof that it's true and all your work will be lost if they remove it. I'd like to see you try to include some references with your writing -- just things like the title of the book or website, who wrote it, a link to the website, etc. There's a page on how to do this here. If you need some help, I'd be very happy to help... Osiris (talk) 08:57, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Osiris! Thank you alot for telling me that. I'll keep it in mind. BlackGem (talk) 10:52, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again Osiris! I have a question. Is it allowed to take information from other Wikipedia articles to make articles of your own? BlackGem (talk) 04:32, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure! All of Wikipedia is published under a free license which means that you can take any material from any article and reproduce it anywhere -- as long as you give credit to who wrote it. You can either give credit in your edit summary (an example here) or by putting an attribution template on the talk page of your new article (see an example at the top of an article I wrote here). The only other thing we have to keep in mind is that content from the English Wikipedia will usually be too complex for the Simple English Wikipedia, so you'll need to "translate" (simplify) the language. You might find it too difficult to translate a whole article from somewhere else, I usually find taking bits and pieces at a time much easier. Osiris (talk) 07:21, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Osiris and Black Gem. I'd just like to mention that, while you can use material from other Wikipedias to write an article, those other articles cannot be directly cited as references. Usually the other articles will have references that you can copy across with the article text. Make sense? --Auntof6 (talk) 09:28, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks a lot for telling me that, Osiris! And Auntof6, I don't understand what you are saying. Can you explain what you just said? BlackGem (talk) 10:50, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. Take a look at William H. Seward. That's an article I brought over from English Wikipedia. The article here has one reference, from the New York Times. Do you see it in the References section? That reference is there to tell people where the quotation from Seward came from. Of course, the quotation was also in the English Wikipedia article, but we can't use that article itself as a source. References have to be from outside Wikipedia. Is that any clearer? --Auntof6 (talk) 11:16, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that's clearer Auntof6. Thanks a lot! BlackGem (talk) 09:17, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My change to the apartheid article

I changed the opening section of the apartheid article because I think that it's definition of apartheid is incorrect. I explained my reasoning on the article's talk page. Do you agree with my changes there?--RJR3333 (talk) 04:41, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! Okay, I'll have a look at it a bit later today. Good to see you back. Osiris (talk) 07:22, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Looks fine to me. The only thing is that the expression "white minority rule" could use explaining or linking to something on its first sppearance. Osiris (talk) 12:02, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I added an explanation of the definition of white minority rule. Does what I wrote work? --RJR3333 (talk) 13:16, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dummy edit needed on template

Could you do a dummy edit on Template:Template other? It's not showing up in its category.

On a related note, the problem I noticed with things not showing up in their categories seems to have cleared up for changes made more recently. --Auntof6 (talk) 01:19, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I dunno... There was a lot of IOC templates imported recently that don't seem to be showing up their cat. Osiris (talk) 01:22, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Hmmm... I wonder if importing is an exception. What I saw is that category change edits I made were reflected right away. --Auntof6 (talk) 01:30, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I think that's probably it, although I've also had a few problems recently when changing cats on template doc pages. I'm waiting to see if the job queue slowly catches up. Osiris (talk) 01:36, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Articles with potentially dated categories

While looking at redlinked categories, I saw a number of them with names like "Articles containing potentially dated statements from Month Year". Are we tracking these only by year, not by month? If so, I have a change in the {{as of}} sandbox that will stop putting the month name in the category. Should I implement that? --Auntof6 (talk) 01:44, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I think so. The number of pages is just too small to make splitting by month worthwhile. Osiris (talk) 01:50, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK, done. --Auntof6 (talk) 01:54, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I've tweaked the code because I think some transclusions may be using {{as of|Day Month Year}} (whole date in the first field. Osiris (talk) 02:04, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I wonder which of our changes explains why there are suddenly a lot of, or a lot more, entries in category "Articles containing potentially dated statements from" (no year, month, or anything). I thought it was the change I made to {{Infobox Romania Communes}}, but maybe it was the change you made. Any thoughts? --Auntof6 (talk) 02:13, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
An example is Dylan and Cole Sprouse. It appears to have "as of" coded correctly, but now isn't in the year category. --Auntof6 (talk) 02:14, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've reverted my edits, but it's still broken. Destriana might have a clue in it. Osiris (talk) 02:24, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Is working now... Osiris (talk) 02:26, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see where I went wrong. I think it's okay now...? Osiris (talk) 02:36, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yep -- nothing is in that category now. Thanks! --Auntof6 (talk) 02:49, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

NP-complete

Can you tell me why you reverted the changes I made to: http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/NP-complete ? 98.203.153.80 (talk) 22:22, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Stub tagger

I've now fixed the stub tagging tool for Twinkle. I've set it to Namespace:0, so it will just be enabled in the article namespace. Sorry that it took so long, I overlooked a addOnloadHook() in the source code --weltforce | talk 22:41, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I wish I could help you with this. If only I knew JavaScript... I'm trying to figure out how you've gotten a similar technique to work -- near to the bottom of friendlytag.js, you've managed to make sure hatnotes get sorted before the maintenance tags. So what you need is a regex to match interwiki text, is that right? Osiris (talk) 05:08, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Excactly. To match interwiki and category text. --weltforce | talk 07:42, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This page looks like it might become a real problem. I wonder if you would have a look at its history, and my comments on the talk page. It has had the attentions of one of our younger colleagues, and has already cost me nearly a week's work getting it back into shape. As anyone who has been on English wiki knows only too well, dealing with editors who are obsessive is a real problem. I recognise that our friend is a person of good will, and super-eager, but that doesn't alter the fact that his lack of self-control is causing a problem. He never discusses anything on talk pages, just dives in and makes huge changes overnight. Very rarely, on either wiki, have I been driven to revert other people's contributions, unless they were obviously vandalism. I have done so in this case... Macdonald-ross (talk) 06:56, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like your revert has forced discussion on the talk page, which is good. Eptalon has joined in, but if you need another opinion I can have a look over the way the article is written... Osiris (talk) 23:57, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle reprogramming

Hi Osiris, as I mentioned here, I plan to do a complete Twinkle reprogramming. The background is that the current version of Twinkle here in the Simple English Wikipedia uses a deprecated version of it. The new script works with a new MoreBits library and it is concluded within the MediaWiki namespace.

Because only Administrators have editor rights there, please do following: Set up the pages

with the contents of

In MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition, add the line

Twinkle2[ResourceLoader|dependencies=mediawiki.util,jquery.ui.dialog,jquery.tipsy]|morebits.js|morebits.css|Twinkle2.js

Create Mediawiki:Gadget-Twinkle2.js with following content: importScript('User:LightForce/MediaWiki:Gadget-Twinkle.js');

This will set up the new gadget "Twinkle2". When I finished the code, it can be deployed to MediaWiki:Gadget-Twinkle.js. But in such way, I can set up the code without any risks to other editors (although they might assist for testing).

Thank you very much! --weltforce | talk 22:42, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mind if we talk about this on IRC? I think I might need to wrap my head around it and talk it over with some other admins. I can probably help you with whether certain bits are needed, and I have a general idea about which templates should be used. Osiris (talk) 00:34, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, please do that. Thank you! --weltforce | talk 07:27, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Feel like giving me a flood flag?

I'd like to continue adding establishment year categories to company articles. Only 2,032 to go! --Auntof6 (talk) 11:27, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

2000??? I thought you said you'd finished?! Osiris (talk) 11:30, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, I've just gotten started. The project I finished was going through the chronology categories and creating categories where needed for the things that already had categories for establishment years/decades/centuries. --Auntof6 (talk) 11:39, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, oops, I didn't read that properly. Osiris (talk) 11:57, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'm going to stop for now. You can take the flag off. --Auntof6 (talk) 12:56, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Did you mean that we have 2000 articles on companies? Osiris (talk) 12:59, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not exactly. 2000+ articles under Category:Companies. I'm skipping the ones that "establishments" doesn't apply to, like movies, video games, fictional characters, and some others. There are a lot like that, especially under the Disney categories. 2,032 is where I started today, but I had done maybe a few hundred before. --Auntof6 (talk) 16:14, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fluff

What a great name for a module. Anyhow I had problems restoring before when I accidently deleted a page instead of reverting (which will teach me to read the page history first). It all looked good but then the page just stopped on "..loading data". Is this me and my Twinkle set up or a problem. I hope you understand this stuff. I just press buttons and hope they work :) --Peterdownunder (talk) 07:44, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Which button were you pressing? Osiris (talk) 07:50, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
A technical question hmm...actually it was the line of text on the diffs page which says "restore this version". And then I see a little message on firefox (bottom left) which tells me it using Twinkle fluff.--Peterdownunder (talk) 07:55, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Does it work if you test it now? The only thing it could be is that you're importing your settings from User:LightForce/twinkle.js -- which is being renovated at the moment (until the end of August, I think LightForce said). But I'm importing my settings from that script as well, and I haven't had any problems. I think it just sometimes stalls for no apparent reason... If it's a recurring issue, it could be a brower problem. If it's a one-off, it was probably just either a lapse in connection or LightForce doing something to the script as part of his testing. Osiris (talk) 08:01, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am importing settings from the lightforce script. The restore function is not one I use very often. I will have a play around.--Peterdownunder (talk) 08:08, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Patroller rights

How many articles do i need to create to become a patroller?Receptie123 (talk) 14:46, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's not the quantity of the pages that matters. It's basic familiarity with style guidelines that's important. Have a look at what other editors are doing to your pages after you've created them. If you start doing these yourself automatically, you're okay to be autopatrolled. Osiris (talk) 08:29, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please notify me when i can be a patroller?Receptie123 (talk) 09:19, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category changes

Please review Category:Municipalities in Japan by prefecture. There are three problems, including a new one I just created today. If you please, will you make a three changes:

The table at Prefectures of Japan shows why "prefecture" is not optional. The name of the prefecture and the prefectural capital city are often the same. Perhaps the necessity will be made clear when you actually see how many there are.

In most writing and talking, it is often unnecessary to differentiate between the prefecture and its capital city. However, in our SEWP context, more care or caution is appropriate, is it not?

The list above may help explain why I am also asking for changes which will take a bit more time to accomplish. Please look at Category:Japanese footballers. When it is convenient, are you willing to change the "prefecture" in each category to "Prefecture"? Also, please allow me to ask for one other change:

I regret that this is a burdensome request, but there we have it. --Horeki (talk) 18:44, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No burden at all -- the city categories only took five minutes. They are  Done. The footballer categories... was Auntof6 going to do these? I'm happy to take half or even do all of them myself, but I'll just check with her because I don't want to steal someone else's task! Osiris (talk) 00:58, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't planning to do those. I'll help if you want, but it sounds like you have a way to do it faster than changing individual articles with AWB, which is what I would do. --Auntof6 (talk) 01:02, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nah I don't, wish I did. I was just gonna do the same as you would... I'll do it a bit later. Have to go out. Osiris (talk) 01:15, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'll do some. How about I do A through M, and you do N through Z. I haven't counted, but that looks pretty even. How about you give me the flood flag for this when you get back? --Auntof6 (talk) 02:09, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good! Are you ready to go? Osiris (talk) 03:10, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, let's go! --Auntof6 (talk) 03:15, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ohhh... wait did you mean N-Z of the prefecture names or the article names? I alphabetised the names and then cut off the top half... Osiris (talk) 03:27, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I meant prefecture names. How do you want to proceed? --Auntof6 (talk) 03:33, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a regex or something that lets you combine the prefectures? I'm doing them one prefecture at a time. --Auntof6 (talk) 03:34, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, that's my bad. I'll adjust my list now. I'm just replacing prefecture]][<br>] with Prefecture]][<br>]. I haven't hit anything yet besides the cats. Osiris (talk) 03:37, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, as long as you're okay with it, I'm probably just going to delete those lowercase cats so don't worry about redirecting them. Osiris (talk) 03:45, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fine with me. I was just about to ask you if you wanted me to QD them instead. --Auntof6 (talk) 03:52, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I'm finished changing the articles and creating the new categories for prefectures A through M. I left the old categories under Category:Japanese footballers. Would you like me to do something different with them? Anything else you'd like my help with right now? --Auntof6 (talk) 04:52, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, I think we're done. Thank you for helping with that! I think in the future I need one of those drinking bird things to click the mouse for me (like on the Simpsons). I'm just renaming my set of categories. Do you want me to take the flag off or have you got other stuff you want to do? Osiris (talk) 04:56, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I was tempted to ask you for permission to use my bot for this so I could have let AWB automatically save, but I figured it would be faster if I sat here clicking. You can take the flag off now. Nice working with you! --Auntof6 (talk) 04:59, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That would have been much easier. Oh well, I'll keep that in mind for the future ...although I'm not allowed to give permission for bot tasks since it's a bureaucrat thing. Perhaps you could request major category renames to be granted as one of your bot's approved tasks? There isn't much that can go wrong. Osiris (talk) 05:08, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Your work on categories is a bit like "forest style" bonsai, isn't it? --Horeki (talk) 20:46, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle welcome templates

Hi, Osiris, I've added following welcoming templates to the new Twinkle:

General welcoming templates

{{welcome}}: standard plain text welcome
{{welcome2}}: welcome with graphic and orange color sheme
{{welcome-anon}}: welcome anonymous user and suggest getting a username
{{welcome-anon2}}: like welcome-anon, but with table and colors
{{welcome-en}}: welcome for users from main English Wikipedia
{{welcome-iw}}: welcome users from another Wikipedia
{{welcomeg}}: welcome users from another Wikipedia
{{welcomeq}}: like welcomeg but a bit shorter
{{welcome-personal}}: a more personal welcome with a plate of cookies

Problem user templates

{{firstarticle}}: welcome with note that created page may get deleted
{{welcomespam}}: welcome users which did spam changes
{{welcomenpov}}: welcome with warning to make changes that fit the NPOV requirements
{{welcomevandal}}: welcome user which performed vandalism

Feel free to add, change or remove templates and correct the description (wording etc.) as you like! I will update the script with the changes you make! --intforce.aka.weltforce 18:10, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You've changed your name! That looks good, there's only the school welcome missing, but I don't think we really need that on Twinkle. Keep up the good work! :) Osiris (talk) 03:22, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I changed it, got rid of the German word in it ;) thanks for the suggestion, I will add {{Welcome-school}} to it, is that ok? --intforce.aka.weltforce 13:15, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Warning templates

Hi Osiris, I've finished the twinklewarn module, see this. I used the templates from Template:User talk page warnings --intforce.aka.weltforce 19:16, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent! How is everything else going? How much more have you got to go? Osiris (talk) 04:31, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm currently working on the QD module, should be finished soon. Then I need to work on the RfD module and customise the Twinkle preference panel, but then it's done ;) --intforce.aka.weltforce 08:11, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

RfD closures

Hey there Osiris! Just a quick reminder that when closing RfDs you should make sure that you include both a rationale (particularly if it's anything other than a straight consensus) and ensure that the deletion reason doesn't remain inside the <noinclude></noinclude> tags, so that it will appear on the main RfD page when transcluded. Cheers, Bluegoblin7 (talk) 02:56, 24 August 2012‎

Oh, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It depends on whether I think people need it -- whether everyone was in agreement or whether there were conflicting opinions. Osiris (talk) 03:18, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, as you say, sometimes (when it's a clear consensus) no closing comments are needed. I guess the main part of my comment is to make sure that you remove the <noinclude></noinclude> tags, so that the 'close' appears on the page, especially so when a rationale is given. Twinkle updates

Hi Osiris, the pages MediaWiki:Gadget-morebits.js and its CSS-page MediaWiki:Gadget-morebits.css are updated reguarly (bugfixes etc) within the whole Morebits project. I suggest using importScriptURL code instead of copying the script, so we don't need to change the page every time when it's being updated. What do you think? --intforce.aka.weltforce 20:28, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

From what source? Osiris (talk) 04:36, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
/*
This imports the latest version of MoreBits javascript from main English Wikipedia.
*/
mw.loader.load( '//en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Gadget-morebits.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript' );

and on the CSS

/*
This imports the latest version of MoreBits style sheets from main English Wikipedia.
*/
@import url(//en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Gadget-morebits.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css);

--intforce.aka.weltforce 11:51, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is that compatible with all versions of Twinkle? Since we've traditionally used userscripts for Twinkle settings, I'm concerned that changes might not be compatible with some of them. Osiris (talk) 18:57, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it's part of the new bundle; the old bundle (by EhJJ) has been transcluded within User:EhJJ/morebits.js in the User namespace. Making a javascript/CSS transclusion will basicly change nothing except "auto-update". --intforce.aka.weltforce 05:33, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, as long as it won't make the EhJJ scripts stop working, that's fine. Do you need this done now or can I wait until you've finished with the new version? Osiris (talk) 05:42, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please do it now ;-) MediaWiki:Gadget-morebits.js and MediaWiki:Gadget-morebits.css. Thanks a lot! --intforce.aka.weltforce 06:35, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Is done. Osiris (talk) 06:48, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! --intforce.aka.weltforce 06:56, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Btw, just saw you created {{Uw-emptycat}} a few days ago. Shall I add it to set? --lightforce.aka.intforce 17:30, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that'd be good. Thanks. Osiris (talk) 17:34, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Thank you for creating the template! --lightforce.aka.intforce 17:48, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I'm also considering getting rid of {{uw-sandbox}} and {{uw-badsummary}} -- but I'll have to bring it up on ST first in case anyone thinks they're useful. Osiris (talk) 17:51, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pat Quinn

Just delete it. Im sorry for any trouble that I may have caused. TDKR Chicago 101 (talk)

Somebody else has already deleted it. Although.... we already have an article on this person under the title Pat Quinn (politician). Osiris (talk) 18:55, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Patroller

Do you think i can become a patroller yet?Receptie123 (talk) 16:39, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your last article was an unreferenced BLP. As I said before: look at the issues that other editors fix after you've created the page. When you start doing those automatically on your own, that's when you're a good patroller. Osiris (talk) 16:42, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
