Congrats. :) I've found your admin shirt, please be careful not to lose it as they're sometimes difficult to come by. ;) Be sure and let me, or another of your fellow admins know if you have any questions. Lauryn Ashby (talk) 11:51, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations! I see I'm a little late on wishing you the best of luck with the tools (I need to remember to check in on wiki every day :P). Anyway, I'm sure you will be a great addition to the admin team. Cheers, Megan ( t/c ) 12:35, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, you should enable the Clean Delete Reasons gadget. It makes the deletion log cleaner. --Bsadowski1(Talk/Changes) 04:19, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice, Bsadowski. :) I'll try it out. —Clementina talk 04:19, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Question and thanks[change source]

Thank you for deleting Zack kepler. Recently, I've been tagging articles by writing out the reason. Are there any templates equivalent to Db-bio, Db-company, Db-nonsense, Db-attack, Db-test, Db-copyright, and Db-spam? Or do I have to memorize what A1, A2, etc. mean? Codedon (talk) 04:24, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, you should remove the Rollback emblem from User:Clementina/Icons. Administrators by default have rollback. Codedon (talk) 04:26, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

┌─────────────────────────────────┘
Thank you, Codedon, for pointing that out. I forgot to fix it, but it's now done. —Clementina talk 05:13, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Codedon, you should try and use Twinkle for CSDs. It helps some. --Bsadowski1(Talk/Changes) 04:30, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Due to browser limitations, I am unable to execute CSDs using Twinkle. As I asked above, what are the actual templates? Codedon (talk) 04:34, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, no problem. Instead you can just do {{db|reason}}. See the list at Template:QD/doc for the reasons. --Bsadowski1(Talk/Changes) 04:41, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, those are quite simple. All I needed to do was to place a pipe instead of a hyphen. Codedon (talk) 04:48, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On a side note, Clementina, please do not quote part of a deleted article in your deletion rationale. Some pages may contain vile attacks against other people. In Zack kepler, the sentence you quoted could be construed as a disparagement of Aldon's ability to play football. Codedon (talk) 05:49, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's why I mentioned the Clean Delete Reasons gadget to her. --Bsadowski1(Talk/Changes) 05:51, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't sound like she tried it out. Codedon (talk) 05:53, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
She hasn't deleted anything since Bsadowski1 mentioned it to her. As a side note, do you not have more productive things you could be doing with your time than commentating on both her and her actions; here and elsewhere? Lauryn Ashby (talk) 06:06, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just giving her advice. To answer your question, no. Codedon (talk) 06:10, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your tools[change source]

Clementina,

From what I can tell from the crat chat, we will regard your RFA as valid. Also, I want to encourage you, that just because your RFA was under discussion, does not mean //you// were under discussion. The closure (me) was the locus of the discussion. So, that being said, you are not under any usage restriction with regards to your tools, you are free to use them within policy and guidelines. Also, you should not feel as if you are under any special scrutiny. Good luck, Jon@talk:~$ 06:35, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've been working on it, so I've gone ahead and moved it back to mainspace. :) A way to simplify it is to break down sentences (for example: Nicol David won a contest and received three medals and in another major contest she received two medals as well --> Nicol David won a contest and received three medals. She also received two medals in another important contest.) Another note: if you've used a lot of information from En wiki to make the article, it's best to give its credits with {{enwp based|url = The link to the Enwiki article}} on the talk page. Cordially, —Clementina talk 06:56, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Clementina. You have new messages at The Three Headed Knight's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

protection[change source]

The protection of David was completely unnecessary. Protection is used if blocking does not work, blocking was not even attempted. The IP and the user are probably the same user, so blocking one blocks the other. The vandalism was over a very short period, and not as part of a string of vandalism. Please remember what protection is used for next time you think about protecting an article. Griffinofwales (talk) 02:51, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're right: I'm sorry, it probably wasn't necessary, but I thought maybe a light semi-protection of one hour might discourage the user/IP. I'll adhere more strictly to the rules next time. :) Cordially, —Clementina talk 03:13, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good catch on the unauthorized bot. However, I'd recommend changing the block so that account creation is not blocked, so the user can have a chance to come on and authorize their bot. Kansan (talk) 07:41, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and did this. I hope you don't mind. Kansan (talk) 07:52, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Kansan. This was my first case with dealing with a bot and I wasn't quite sure what kind of block to issue, so the help is very much appreciated. :) Thank you once more! Sincerely, —Clementina talk 08:52, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Clementina I put the user information on Kgsbot page.Kiran Gopi (talk) 11:33, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please be aware that this was actually a bad block. This wiki allows automatic approval of certain types of bots. Interwiki being the one. -DJSasso (talk) 11:57, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, DJSasso, I'll keep that in mind for the future (I was just a little suspicious when I saw some interwikis being removed, and I thought it might be better safe than sorry). Cordially, —Clementina talk 11:59, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Most of your changes are, as usual, well-needed cleanup; however, I'm not so sure about the "welcome to Wikipedia". We may use this (and some other) templates for users who are already learning the ropes, and the extra welcome may sound patronising. What do you think? sonia♫♪ 11:28, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, you have a good point. :) But if the user is already established enough that the "welcome to Wikipedia" pricks their pride, they're probably regular enough so that they shouldn't be templated, in my opinion. ;) I'm free, as usual, for my changes to be reverted if you think it's necessary, though. Thanks for telling me. Cordially, —Clementina talk 11:51, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This was a brilliant idea. I took the liberty of changing a couple of things on the template so that it includes the page name of the page it is on as well as the signature of the user leaving the note, I hope you don't mind. With the changes I made, the template now needs to be subst:'d ({{subst:User:Clementina/NQD}}), so if you want to add that to a documentation page or anything, that might be a good idea. Cheers, -- Lauryn Ashby (talk) 02:55, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your help! I was just puzzling over how to subst it when you fixed the problem perfectly. I felt our current "deleted" page template was a bit too cold and unspecific, so I made a new one in my userspace: I was afraid it might be frowned upon, and I'm glad you think it's okay. Anyway, thanks again for your kind help! —Clementina talk 03:06, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Slow down, please![change source]

Please don't jump on my new pages five minutes after I've put them up. I often work on them off and on for several hours afterwards. Wait till next day. Macdonald-ross (talk) 12:00, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please specify how I "jump[ed] on" your new pages so I can prevent doing so in the future, dear Macdonald-ross? :) If I remember correctly, I think I merely simplified a few sentences. Very respectfully, —Clementina talk 12:04, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Macdonald... you can use the "in use" template... but to ask for a few hours may be a bit much. It is a wiki after all! Best, Jon@talk:~$ 14:30, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There's something like an unwritten rule/standard to not touch new articles written by experienced editors for a few hours. It's annoying to get edit conflicts when still working on it. -Barras (talk) 14:49, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ohh, I see now. :) Thanks for telling me, I thought it only applied to tagging articles as stubs, uncategorized etc. I'll keep that in mind next time. Cordially, —Clementina talk 03:08, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there are two reasons. One is avoiding edit conflicts, which are annoying. The other is that many problems you can see may be fixed by the original editor, and it is courteous to give him/her the chance. Actually, flags for stub and uncategorized are fine, but actual text edits or <complex> flags should wait a bit. (This might not apply to unregistered users.) Macdonald-ross (talk) 12:43, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcoming in recent changes[change source]

As you may know, I specialize in handing out welcome templates to new users and anons there. However, it gets kinda tiring for a while, and the end result of all the template-spamming is a higher percentage in user talk space totals. I was thinking of having some collab like en:WP:WC or some Wikiproject Welcoming team or have another user write some code for a bot that will lift some of the burden off my shoulders for a while. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 16:14, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea, I'd like to see a welcoming bot as well, though I'm not sure if the Wikiproject will really help: maybe you should bring it up at Simple Talk. :) And as an aside, why don't you install twinkle? It makes welcoming/warning much easier. If you're using Internet Explorer (Twinkle doesn't work on there), vandal warner is good too. Kindly, —Clementina talk 03:08, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you do not mind that I took the liberty of altering the above welcome template! I removed "If you've read through this long, boring speech, thanks. ;)" because I feel that labeling the message as "long, boring" does not place our wiki in a good light! Also, I did not understand one sentence in the template: "You see, if Wikipedia had an article about every real person, thing, or company, we would not be able to remove bad or false information about people, or write clearly about famous or important subjects, especially since this is an encyclopedia." Why would we not be able to remove misinformation if Wikipedia had an article about everything?!

I concur with Strong.soldier23 that it is quite refreshing to see people so faith-filled! I hope God's presence is manifested throughout this wiki by messengers such as yourself and myself and brings the good Word to all! God bless you! Protector of Wiki (talk) 18:12, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comments and help, Protector of Wiki: I really appreciate it. :) However, I hope you don't mind that I have undone some of your changes. They made it somewhat harder to read, and the very reason I made it in my userspace was to keep it as friendly and easy to read as possible, even at the risk of sounding informal/unprofessional. And it is true that if we had an article about everything and everyone, we would not be able to remove misinformation. For example, if someone put up an article about a non-notable person like me ;), claiming that I lived in a tree house, ate grilled cockroaches, was a hula dancer, and had a boyfriend named Harry Potter...I wouldn't be able to prove them wrong without destroying my privacy. I hope you understand, and thanks once again. Warmly, —Clementina talk 03:33, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You mean you don't live in a tree house? :O sonia♫♪ 06:40, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No indeed, Protector of Wiki: I never meant to hurt your feelings in any way and I'm sorry if I did so. So could you please place <noinclude> tags around the cat on your page? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TeleComNasSprVen (talkcontribs)

Hi Telecom, thanks for your help. :) I think there are already noninclude tags around it, though. Kindly, —Clementina talk 02:08, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Interwiki links[change source]

How do you add all those interwiki links? Other than english wikipedia, of course. Thank you. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 12:16, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The easiest way for me is to go to the English Wikipedia. For example, if I wanted to add interwiki links to Dew, I go to the English article about dew. When I click "edit this page" on there, under the categories and templates, there are lots of interwiki links. I usually just copy and paste them over here, then add the English Wikipedia interwiki link. :) Hope this helps, and welcome again! Warmly, —Clementina talk 12:32, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move of Iron(II,II) oxide[change source]

When I created the article, I didn't realize that it was a typo. It should be iron(II,III) oxide because some of the iron atoms are +2 and others are +3 oxidation state. Could you move it to iron(II,III) oxide? I am not autoconfirmed yet. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 14:18, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be happy to, but it looks like Barras was faster than me. :) Keep up the great work! Cordially, —Clementina talk 02:26, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject novels banner[change source]

There isn't one. Do the wikiprojects here on simple use banners? We could import one from en, or design one, and that would help us keep track of the novels-related articles. Also, where are any central discussions about novels, improving the articles, the project, etc? Could we use the talk page of the novels project page? Just a few ideas... PrincessofLlyr talk 02:57, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, we don't. As for centralised discussions, try the Wikiproject talk page. Griffinofwales (talk) 02:58, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(change conflict)  Thank you very much for bringing this up, Princess! :) I've been trying to think up ideas to get this project more active, but couldn't really bring much to action. As Griff said, Simple doesn't use banners, but I do think we should use the talk page or maybe a subpage to discuss improvements...and we could also discuss in more detail possible GA/VGA literature candidates. :) What do you think? Warmly, —Clementina talk 03:02, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I suppose not having banners is not the end of the world. Yes, I think we could use the talk page of the main wikiproject page for discussions (Griff, currently that talk page has not been created). I've found the wikiproject discussions at en to be very useful for keeping up with the project's active work. I would love to discuss candidates for GA/VGA! In fact, I just finished a read-through and simplification of The Lightning Thief and would love another opinion before I list it at PGA. PrincessofLlyr talk 03:17, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Way to go, dear Princess! :) You're certainly a great asset to the project already. I'll try to get around to helping with the Lightning Thief if I can, but its main problem seems to be the redlinks rather than the article itself, which is quite well written. You have more experience than me about wikiprojects and such, so if you have any good ideas, either post it up on the project talk page or go for it! :) And on a related note, should I put up the article on the talk page, or go around poking (=annoying) the project members for help on their talk pages? :P Cordially, —Clementina talk 03:30, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Um, I think I'll be bold, post a basic notice on the talkpage of the wikiproject about both using it for a forum/workspace and about TLT, which I will go ahead and nominate at PGA after I've had one more good look through it. New user[change source]

Thanks for the Avatar: The Last Airbender (video game). I am a new user. Nataly8 (talk) 07:22, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, dear Nataly! :) It was my pleasure: I'm glad I could help you. It's quite easy and fun simplifying articles: just try to make the sentences shorter and less complex, and use more Basic English words. Also, we use "Other websites" here rather than "external links". You could also try taking a look at manual of style and some of our best articles for more tips. And please remember, my talk page is always open if you have any more questions or if you need help! :) Kindly, —Clementina talk 07:29, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, but my name it's not Nataly. I am a male :). Nataly8 (talk) 07:30, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question. I want to complete the article Avatar: The Last Airbender, and yesterday I find videos in Youtube with the interviews of voice actors and creators. Can I put it like a reference? Nataly8 (talk) 07:56, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not absolutely sure, but probably not. If it's from a reliable source, and is laid out according to {{Cite video}}, it might be used as a reference, but a mere link to a video from Youtube wouldn't work. Talk page stalkers: please correct me if I'm wrong ;) Best, —Clementina talk 08:23, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't completely understand, I find this. This is the video I want to put. It's very important. Nataly8 (talk) 08:27, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

┌─────────────────────────────────┘
I don't think sites such as Youtube can be seen as reliable sources, and as such, I'm afraid this link won't be able to count as a reference, Nataly8. However, I'm sure you can find a better reference on a reliable website/book in time. :) Kindly, —Clementina talk 08:59, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I find informations in the site of Nickelodeon, but this video it's too important. I also find 2 videos, that Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko (the creators) talking about 2 main characters. I will try to find and something else. Thanks for help. Hello Clementina, I am Airplaneman. I saw your work on The Lightning Thief and wanted to ask a question about the cite web template used in the article. The access dates in the template are linked. I don't think they should be because as far as I know, aren't date links discouraged? (Well, at least they are on en.wikipedia, so I assume it's the same here.) Was there discussion about this that I'm unaware of, or would it be fine to remove the date links? Thanks, Airplaneman 19:40, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Airplaneman. :) As far as I know, yes, date links are discouraged here as well. However, I was afraid of breaking up the template by trying to fix it (I'm not that great with templates). I've always had to manually fix all the citeweb templates used in GA/VGA processes, and so I would be only too happy if you could correct that in the template, and I don't think anyone else will object. :) Great work, and have a lovely day! And by the way, I love your signature. ;) Best, —Clementina talk 07:56, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, I'm no good with templates, either. It's full-protected, anyway, so maybe I could post at the administrator's noticeboard with a link to this discussion. Glad you like my sig; I like yours, too :) Airplaneman 15:36, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review[change source]

Hi, I put 5 articles in the peer review. Did you have some comments to do? Nataly8 (talk) 12:05, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Nataly8, don't worry about people not seeing the peer reviews or Simple Talk: most of them have the pages on their watchlist...Simple is a very nosy place! ;) At first glance, the pages seem to need more simplifying. Try using Basic English words, and when you really can't think of any simpler word, you can link it to Simple English Wiktionary like this. Hope this helps! :) Cordially, —Clementina talk 12:31, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Can you help me with the simplification, please :) Nataly8 (talk) 12:44, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you have any free time on Wikipedia, please feel free to help me on simplifing Al Capone (still in my userspace). It certinally could be a GA, if simplified enough. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

P.S: You know what they say about luck: it's when hard work meets opportunity :). Battleaxe9872 02:18, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly, it would be my pleasure to look to it, and I'll try to make time, though I'm afraid I'm going to be rather busy today because of a visit... :) Keep up your good work, dear Battleaxe! Hopefully there will be a time when all articles can get to GA/VGA stat, but it'll take a lot of work to get there. Kindly, —Clementina talk 02:28, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Delete them all. I think you must blocked him. Nataly8 (talk) 07:22, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I finished. I need help with simplification. It was a stub so we can do it GA like in English version. What you think? Nataly8 (talk) 10:01, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Now I will start to complete the article Aang. In English Wikipedia, it's GA, so we can do it here. Well, the problem of the article is the simplification. And the red links. Nataly8 (talk) 12:17, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I finished! Nataly8 (talk) 18:58, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Aang maybe need some simplification. Can you help? I am working on it's red links. Nataly8 (talk) 06:19, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I finished with the red links of the article. Does the article need simplification? Nataly8 (talk) 12:47, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(<-) Nataly8, I'm sorry, but this is something you will have to do yourself. I am happy to help, but I won't always be around, and not everyone will have the time or inclination for simplifying. Try making your sentences shorter like I did here to Aang. The important thing is not making a lot of new stubs without much text, but improving and simplifying the articles you already have. Try focusing on a few articles to make them as simple as you can. :) Have a lovely week! Kindly, —Clementina talk 13:01, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I will try. Nataly8 (talk) 13:03, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note, but I didn't find anything. Nataly8 (talk) 08:27, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Words like hesitation, creators, trickster, and wasteland, for example, aren't Basic English. These need to be explained or linked. The more complex sentences have to be shortened and simplified, and the general article made easier to read. I'm sorry, but the criteria for a GA is quite high here. I think the article needs some more work before it can be ready to pass. With kindness, —Clementina talk 08:42, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, and how I change the words? Nataly8 (talk) 09:17, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You can try looking in the Basic English word list for words that are simpler, but have the same meaning. For example, happy is simpler than cheerful, but it has the same meaning. :) Hope this helps, —Clementina talk 09:21, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Will be fixed :) Nataly8 (talk) 09:24, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Clementina, it was a genuine pleasure to hear from you. Thank you for the kind words. I don't often edit this site; I came here to try and fend off a vicious cross-wiki vandal and I'd forgotten that the protocols are different here than over at English and I seemed to have breached that protocol. Life however, goes on and I hope to resume my work here. There are a lot of red links on subjects I find near and dear to me which I would enjoy turning to blue. Again, thank you for the kind gesture and I look forward to working with you. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 03:59, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you're still on, could you please give me the flood flag re this? It seems she may be offline, and I may soon have to go. Hazard-SJ Talk 05:28, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I already saw the discussion on Sonia's talk page, but my opinion is the same as hers. I'm sorry, but there is still an ongoing discussion on AN about whether it is appropriate for you to receive a flood flag or not, and I can't give it to you when the community still has its doubts. Also, dear Hazard, please remember that if more than one administrator says no to a request, you should trust and accept their decision and not go to another administrator, because this is disapproved and can cause more trouble than solve any. Okay? :) Kindly, —Clementina talk 05:31, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's not my intention, and I do believe that what you read concerns me using Hazard-Bot. There is nothing about me, as far as I see. I won't be getting it for Hazard-Bot, so I'm requesting it for me. Again, I'm not forum shopping. The discussions about Hazard-Bot are over, and now, its about me. I haven't seen a reply to that. However nice my words were, I'm sure they felt that a block is a block. For those that would come back to vandalize despite the gentle words of advice with a block would, sadly, still come back to vandalize if I blocked them with the coldest template in the wiki. And by the way, great work with your chemical articles. :) Best, —Clementina talk 11:28, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Aye, but- with all due respect, Clem, that tone is so nice that it's almost patronizing. In a way, the RC patrollers and admins are the "face" of the project to new editors and vandals- hence a set of standardized warnings, so that all get uniform, professional treatment. There's a bit of disparity between the four escalating warnings and the block notice popped just below. I don't mind your using your own templates, but I do object to the wording of the one you used there as it stands. Would you mind toning it down a little? Regards, sonia 13:09, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Changing the wording of the block notice now will do nothing but aggravate the situation. I think that the tone of the block notice needs changing, however changing it now (and updating the page) will send another message to the blocked user in question (which is bad). Just keep the above in mind in future. Chenzw  Talk  13:40, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Clementina, after re-reading WP:RBK it says that if I have Rollback on another wiki I'll be granted the permission and that all other requirements need not be met, although I have met the other requirements. Regards, Fridae'§Doom | Tea and biscuits? 02:13, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, dear Fridae! :) Glad to see you on here again. You are right: the last time you applied, though, you were not autoconfirmed yet (besides the concerns other admins had about your having a need for the tool). I would like to give it to you, but I just want to check with you about this reversion - I think the last version was actually less POV, don't you? It would have been an incorrect use of rollback if it had been applied in this case. I just want to make sure. :) Love, —Clementina talk 02:19, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(<-) ^Thanks, Pie and Gordon. You're right, this is what you were looking for. ;) I'm sorry, Fridae, but I don't think you can have the tool right now, though - importers have to have a minimum of 200 changes and community consensus (and with all that, a bureaucrat, not an administrator, will have to grant the tool). :) It's just a temporary tool though, after the task is done you'll have to give it back. (Personally, I prefer simply copying and attributing - things get better simplified that way.) —Clementina talk 03:17, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You've done fine. :) The rules here for DYK are pretty simple, but since I've approved it, someone else will have to move the hook to the queue. Thanks for your help here, dear Fridae! —Clementina talk 07:34, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(<-) Really? I'm so glad to hear that!! :) Do ask me if you have any questions, but otherwise just be bold and jump in, you're doing great so far. I tend to watch the RC more than my watchlist here - one of the nicest things about Simple is that you can actually read and keep track of things as they go along. And PGA and VGAs need some work too..hint, hint. ;) Love, —Clementina talk 08:39, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see Simple is very much similar to enwiki :) I might have a look at PGA and PVGA, but I could sure fix up some problems as I see them that's probably the one thing I haven't screwed up :) Regards, Ғяіᴆaз'§Đøøм Champagne? 10:08, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone ahead and made the Gettysburg Address a good article, the references still need to be addressed but are often overlooked, I see no major problems with the article and no one has raised any objections so I don't see why not. Sodium tellurate[change source]

I was going to create it, then saw that sodium tellurate had no article on en! You can move it. I asked on en:WP:RD/S#Sodium tellurate. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 13:25, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay,  Done. If it doesn't exist, though, it might have to be deleted as it won't be moved to mainspace. Give me a call if that ever happens! ;) If it does exist, maybe you can create an article about it on en! :) Have a beautiful day (or night for me), —Clementina talk 13:31, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Clementina. Thanks for the welcome. If you have time I'd love it if you could take a look at the article I just created to make sure it complies with the rules and guidelines here. I mostly work over at en:, but thought that a version of this article that wasn't so mathematically daunting would be helpful. Thanks, 28bytes (talk) 06:03, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was just looking over it—it looks positively fantastic for a first try! :) I don't think there's much for me to do, though: you simplified it so well I could actually read it (gasp! That's a first - Clementina being able to read a math article!). I'll take a look at it and trash your lovely article see what I can do to help, though. Welcome once more, dear 28bytes! Warmly, —Clementina talk 06:13, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Clementina. I look forward to your trashing review. 28bytes (talk) 06:28, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Trashed. I'm sorry I couldn't do more, but you really did write it very well - there wasn't much to do (you even added "other websites" instead of "external links"!). :) —Clementina talk 06:42, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bare URL[change source]

Hi Clementina, thanks for your note. A bare URL is one where you get a http:// and all the URL exposed to the reader rather than a link which has a title. This may be caused by embedding links within the templates. Once I'm done copyediting the prose, I'll tackle the technical issues! The Rambling Man (talk) 09:44, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I see; thank you! :) Yes, it's probably because of embedding them in the templates. I'll take a look at them, but when it comes to techy stuff, I'll probably come to the limit of the small changing sphere in my power. Anyway, your help on the article in both prose and technical issues, is very much appreciated, thanks once again! Love, —Clementina talk 10:20, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm hoping to get it done in the next hour or so, then I'll be happy to support its promotion. The Rambling Man (talk) 10:26, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you like, you could work on linking some of the terms in this quote: "so completely that he could recast abstract issues of constitutional law in Biblical terms, making the proposition that Texas and New Hampshire should be forever bound by a single post office sound like something right out of Genesis". It's not simple at all! The Rambling Man (talk) 10:49, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How could I have let a sentence like that stay in the Simple English Wikipedia? Shame on me - I'd be delighted to fix it. Which section is it in? —Clementina talk 11:38, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(<-big dent in my head from getting hit by two trouts) Sure, a fish fight sounds fun! Bring it on! ;) As for the MediaWiki request - I'm not all that great with MediaWiki, so I'm not sure where I'm supposed to put your addition (at the..top? bottom? middle? of the page?) without messing it up. *Looks down and hopes desperately for some mediawiki-learned TPS to spring out and save the day* It would be great if you could provide a link or diff to a sandbox which contains the entire code of the template, with the required changes (yeah, I know, I'm so lazy :p). In reference to your last message, my link was not a "spam" link.. i placed it in there purely for educational purposes for others readers information as i clearly stated. I am not and never will be a spammer, i just want to make myself clear on the topic. Im trusting this will be understood now by yourselves and you will allow my links. regards Andrew.

Hello, dear Andrew! :) I'm happy and relieved that you didn't mean it as spam. But your explanation for the link ("Everything you need to know about the Violin including sheet music, video's and articles, literally thousands of pages dedicated purely to this amazing instrument.") was not neutral, and the link appeared to be a blog about violin lessons. I'm sorry, but we have to be very careful about links, especially on important articles such as Violin. When you are not sure whether the link should be added or not, you can try asking about it on the talk page and discuss with other editors. :) And by the way, you can type four tildes (~~~~) to sign your name when you write comments on talk pages. I hope this helps. Warm regards, —Clementina talk 03:38, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Clementina, I noticed that something on your computer/browser (probably a Skype plugin) is adding its own code on pages that you edit: [1][2][3][4] I suggest either disabling the plugin or using the "show changes" button to view any changes to make sure that it doesn't add extra markup to the page by accident. Hi Clem, just a courtesy note about my DYK revert, it is a policy that all hooks remain for 3 days regardless of a review or not so that everyone gets a chance to see and comment - a lot of discussion brought that rule in so it is quite a contentious issue! Question[change source]

Thank you for your help Clemintina, I have just attempted to enter a page titled Dimensional compression. I recieved a ntice that it was tagged for quick deletion and I need help understanding why. Can you please help? Thank You Russ

Hello, dear Russ! Yes, I've deleted the page as it seemed to be a copyright violation, which means that it used material copied directly from a book, magazine, newspaper or another website without the permission of the copyright holder. Many sources, like websites found on the Internet, are copyrighted. I'm afraid Wikipedia cannot accept any material copied from such sources as it can get into serious legal trouble. You can use it as a source to get information, but you have to say it in your own words. :) This page has some good links, and you might want to read this for help on getting started. An idea for updating DYK[change source]

Hi Clementina! Thanks for taking some initiative in trying to keep DYK updated. I noticed that you moved some of the DYK hooks to queues. It was a good idea to move some of the ones such as Elephant to queues where there can be a picture, but I noticed that you moved Edmund Hillary (without a picture) to Queue 3, even though Queue 1 is over half a month overdue to be updated for DYK. I would be bold and move it to Queue 1 and update it, but I have a conflict of interest because I nominated the hook. Would you be okay if we moved one of the hooks you moved to another queue (it doesn't matter which one) to Queue 1 so we can update it? Warmly, Kansan (talk) 17:10, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, Kansan, you have too much delicacy. :) I don't think anyone could possibly think that it was a conflict of interest to move a hook from one queue to another. Thanks for pointing this out, and please, feel free to move it as your very good judgment dictates! Love, —Clementina talk 23:25, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stratum/Strata[change source]

If I put up a page with a title different from enWP then you can bet I've got a reason for it. The case for strata in preference to stratum is that the singular is rarely used. A very similar case is datum/data, where the singular is almost unknown. The 'what links here' shows how common the plural is for these words.
Another good reason is that enWP does not know what it's doing a lot of the time. Proof of that is that their pages are titled Stratum and Data! There's no reason for us to follow them blindly; a page title should be the most commonly used word(s) (assuming it's accurate). In general, I do follow their usage, but sometimes it makes more sense to have another title. I hope you will consider changing the title back. Macdonald-ross (talk) 18:27, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, dear Macdonald-ross. Yes, normally it is best to follow en for consistency, but from reading your reasons, it seems reasonable for it to stay at its original title, so I've moved it back with a suitable redirect. I didn't know you had made the page, by the way. :) I might have thought more carefully about moving it if I had known. Thanks for notifying me about it, and I hope you enjoy a beautiful day. Cordially, —Clementina talk 09:52, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Franck, there's no need to apologize! :) I'm really glad you decided to join Wikipedia and help us out. The problem wasn't that the title had a capital A - it was because it was too short, but your next try was much better - great job! Just remember to write why it's notable, add sources, and make sure it's in Simple English, of course. :) I hope you stay around, and please, ask me if you have any questions, and I'll do my best to answer. September 1988 (talk) 10:56, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear September, I know wikifying is always better than simply deleting, but I felt it was too short to be meaningful as an article and might be written better if it was started afresh. I see Gordon's moved the page to your userspace, though, so you can work on it there and move it to the mainspace when you feel that it is ready. :) Thanks for helping out at Simple, and please do ask me if you have any questions or need help. Hello from EN Wiki![change source]

Hello there. I come from EN Wiki. Do not worry about having to simplify everything like I have to.

I have recently imported and simplified Template:Infobox football club, the only problem being is that whenever I try to put the template on it gives me all the content of the page, including the descriptions telling me what "mgrtitle" means. Can you help me fix this up so the template is useable?

For an idea of what I mean, take a look at this [5] edit. Thanks! RomeEonBmbo (talk) 23:44, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RomeEonBmbo, I noticed the template problem you are having. It looks like you copied the documentation from en:Template:Infobox football club, and saved it on Simple asTemplate:Infobox football club (note the lower case 'f'). The infobox template already exists on Simple as Template:Infobox Football club (note the upper case 'F'). If you would like, you could move Template:Infobox football club to Template:Infobox Football club/doc. Let me know if you need any more help.--The Three Headed Knight (talk) 04:02, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done, thanks for the note! —Clementina talk 00:31, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
