Welcome[change source]

Hello N1TH Music, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! Thank you for your changes. You are welcome to continue changing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and has several benefits, such as a username of your choice and your own user page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (N1TH Music) will be used.

Either way, I hope you enjoy changing pages here and being a Wikipedian! Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking or using four tildes (~~~~); this will show your username and the date. Also, please do your best to always fill in the change summary. Below are some pages to help you get started.

If you need any help you can ask me on my talk page or Wikipedia:Simple talk. Again welcome! Also, it appears you recently moved over here to edit from the English Wikipedia. You were recently blocked there, so I wanted to point out that we have a 1-Strike policy. You can be blocked with or without notice for violating any policies on simple. I encourage you to read the Main Page and the Simple Start pages to get familiar with how things work here to prevent getting blocked and/or banned. If you need help or have questions, please feel free to post on Simple Talk. I hope you have a great time editing here. July 2022[change source]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Your change to the page Blackslough worked, but because it had things in it which did not help improve the page, it was reverted or removed. If you would like to do more tests on Wikipedia, please use the sandbox. You may also want to read the welcome page to learn about helping the Simple English Wikipedia. Thank you. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 17:12, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@PotsdamLamb I'm a little confused as to what exactly was wrong with it? I understand it's incomplete, and some of the sources are all over the place, however with time I know I could fix everything and bring the article up to standard. I've been editing the main Wikipedia and like you I have been blocked however I have learnt from my mistakes. The subject is notable, the sources are Reliable and independent, I do not believe basic statistics fall under WP:TMI So what was the problem exactly? N1TH Music (talk) 17:24, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It did not post above, but we do not add a lot of empty sections to an article and leave it that way. You can add a section and populate it with the information and references, however, on this article you created numerous headings and sub-headings and moved on. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 17:25, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb I planned to work with them in the future however in hindsight you were correct. I added the sections because I knew I'd forget exactly what they were. So the populated sections are ok right? So I can re-add the parts which were filled in? N1TH Music (talk) 17:28, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, as long as they are populated, it is ok. You just cannot leave anything blank. I encourage you to read the Main Page and the Simple Start (both located on the left column). Also, in case you cannot read it from above, we do have a 1-Strike Policy on simple. Basically, you can be blocked, with or without noticed, for violating the policies and/or continuing in the same fashion as you did on enWP that got you blocked there. So that is just a heads up. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 17:31, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb It's alright I understand, just on enWP it was ok to put empty sections but I guess I put tags on them stating they were empty sections and they were headings on an article I'd been working on for days. this article still has empty sections on it which I plan to fill in at some point. I figured this wiki would if anything be more lenient than the en Wiki. Also If you don't mind me asking what's with the sockpuppetry accusations? N1TH Music (talk) 17:41, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do not answer questions about my past. Sorry PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 17:44, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb Ok, never mind, I've still got one more question though, does this wiki have a new page patrol and if so, how do I join it? N1TH Music (talk) 17:51, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No we do not. Typically we monitor it ourselves with various tools. Also, if we did you would need to be on here for a while and make a substantial amount of edits, that would meet the criteria similar to the other rights we do have.
I will also caution you right now on your edit summaries do not make them sound like threats. The one you just posted "Rollback once more, I will delete the empty sections manually." can be taken as a threat and it will get you blocked. Instead of reverted my rollback, you can just go in and add the information. This prevents any kind of edit war or the statements being taken as such. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 17:55, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb Sorry about that, I figured it's much less work to rollback your edit and remove the bad stuff than it would be to enter another revision and re-add the good stuff. You see it gets complicated sometimes with tables so I thought it's much more easy to rollback and work from too much. Also was that the main issue or was it also the way I worded it which made is seem threathening? N1TH Music (talk) 17:59, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So you do not want to rollback someone's changes who made them for a valid reason (like I did with you adding all of the empty headings). If it was one or two, I would have manually deleted them. Rollback should be used if it is a big change and I have rollback rights so I use it a lot. As far as the threat, it is the way it was worded by you. As time goes on, you will see some of the edit summaries editors and IPs leave and will see how fast they typically get blocked. We have very active admins and almost always have one "on-duty" as I call it. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 18:13, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb I understand what your saying but I may be rolling back your changes but at the end of the day I am preserving what you intended, the headings are removed. However I understand that I am new here and therefore I should listen to you. So I will in future take the extra time instead of rollbacking again. N1TH Music (talk) 18:15, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Just in case you didn't know, when you post messages on talkpages and Wikipedia pages, such as you did in "Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/Just Urban (magazine)", you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ("~~~~") at the end of your message. You can also click on the signature button ( or ), located in the edit toolbar, which is above the change window. This will put a signature containing your user name or IP address and the time you posted the message. This information is useful because other users will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! MathXplore (talk) 15:10, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, sorry, usually I do I just forgot then and didn't notice. N1TH Music (talk) 15:13, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Blanking pages[change source]

Blanking pages is considered as requesting a page you created be deleted. As they are removing both the deletion tag and content, I'd assume that they are wanting to just delete the article. --Ferien (talk) 17:45, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sorry I come from the main english Wikipedia, I did not know that. N1TH Music (talk) 17:48, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's ok, there's a great page that shows many of the differences we have compared to enwiki, User:Auntof6/simplediffs. I recommend checking it out if you have some time to. :) --Ferien (talk) 17:50, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion[change source]

I noticed you added a talk page statement above. I would suggest you remove the link to enWP because of your block. The admins over there can see that as abusing your talk page and pull your rights as part of your block. We also have a header you can use on your TP if you add at the very top first line it has a nice appearance to it. You can read more about it at Template:Talk header. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 18:03, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@PotsdamLamb Seriously, that's abusing my talk page? Well thanks for informing me, I didn't want my block entended. I don't really need a really good looking message tbh, but I'll have a look. N1TH Music (talk) 18:08, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Questions[change source]

You might want to ask at WP:Simple talk for more answers to your questions. You might want to ask administrators, or users who have been on this site for many years, as well. Lights and freedom (talk) 19:04, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Lights and freedom WP:Simple Talk I am reading through right now, it appears to consist of more basis stuff than what I'm asking about, also I don't know any admins on this wiki. N1TH Music (talk) 19:07, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
They will reply and you can also view the list at Wikipedia:Administrators#List_of_administrators PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 19:08, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Administrators such as User:Eptalon and User:Auntof6 have been here for over a decade. User:Ferien has not but he is active a lot. Lights and freedom (talk) 19:13, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
L&F means Ferian is an administrator but has not been here for over a decade. Just to help clear that up. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 19:14, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, and I just realised I recognised User:Ferien probably because he's already posted a message here. N1TH Music (talk) 19:14, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, if you need any direct help then I have no problems with you contacting me directly on my talk page. --Ferien (talk) 20:38, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

When you make an RfD, you have to transclude it at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion. Go to the section on that page that says "Current deletion request discussions", click "change source", and you can see what I mean. Lights and freedom (talk) 15:01, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do I add it to the top or the bottom? N1TH Music (talk) 15:02, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The top, like you did. Lights and freedom (talk) 15:07, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alright Thanks, yeah sorry after I asked I realised that a discussion which I knew was very recent I noticed was at the top. N1TH Music (talk) 15:09, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You also shouldn't start RfDs for articles simply because they have no sources. --Ferien (talk) 15:58, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ferien But it's a WP:BLP they need sources don't they? Also I changed that one to a redirect because I thought it was more appropriate, what was wrong with that? N1TH Music (talk) 16:02, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Heated, arguable, material about living persons that is unsourced (without references) or poorly sourced—even if the content is negative (bad), positive (good), or just questionable—should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion. While a source should probably be added for the information about his death, there is no heated or arguable material here in my opinion. --Ferien (talk) 16:07, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ferien Ok that seems alright, so we presume notability for basic information like birth and occupation. But I still don't understand as to why a redirect can't be a good interim measure prior to somebody adding sources. N1TH Music (talk) 16:11, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see the problem with short articles. Bob Parsons has a reasonable claim to notability, he played in the NFL. A check for notability should be done before changing the article into a redirect or RfD'ing, and by the looks of it, there are plenty of sources online that can be added. --Ferien (talk) 16:18, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, in future I will check for my own sources or simply in the enWiki version of the article before editing it. N1TH Music (talk) 16:22, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Layout of Articles[change source]

Hey there! So on María Rosa Moreno I went back and fixed it to the proper layout. The stub template always go at the very bottom of the article and has two spaces between the last category listed. If you look at the article now you will see what I mean. I have a rough draft of the article layout that will help you and it is located at User:PotsdamLamb/List_of_Article_Layout that can help you. If you have any question on the article layout feel free to ask me or post on WP:Simple Talk. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 18:50, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@PotsdamLamb well I've added this template to several articles, could you check if it was just the one which is too high because I remember one of them seemed of when I put it in but I left it because I thought it would be ok and that it actually looked better that way. N1TH Music (talk) 18:53, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah stubs always go at the bottom of the page. I will go back in your edits and check the layout. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 18:55, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thanks, inform me if I've always been doing something wrong. N1TH Music (talk) 18:56, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think I got most of them, but feel free to go through your edits and double check. Thanks! PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 20:31, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

QD vs. RfD[change source]

So on Ingolf-Svann_Jensen you can request a QD as A4 (People, groups, companies, products, services or websites that do not claim to be notable) and if you use Twinkle, it will automatically send a notification to the creator of the article. Be sure to put in the comments as to why (ie searched only social media and ancestry sites, doesn't meet WP:Notability. If a wait tag is added or someone contests it, then you can remove the QD tag then send it to RfD. Do not revert it now, as the discussion was posted already. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 20:00, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Images on articles[change source]

Hey on Little blue heron I noticed you moved the image to the left said of the page with the edit summary of For a short stub like this, the photograph is more fitting on the left. We leave the placement of the images up to the editor. Granted this is a stub, but if you are fixing things in an article, some articles like biological articles have a certain format they need to have. If enWP has the article, you can simply copy over the infobox (and make sure you give attribution to the page) onto our article. There are other things that also need to be added to it. If you look at the page now, you will see what I did. Also, there is no need to put the {{-}} before the stub as it should be under the article and will automatically place itself where it needs to go. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 20:31, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I see now, it needs to be below the categories (correction not the categories, that other template, thing?) too, I never really saw those as a part of the page really, my bad, anyway it appears I have made a couple of mistakes here and there so I feel the need to ask if my contributions so far have been good or not? N1TH Music (talk) 06:14, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For the most part they are ok and simple is a learning curve. Do remember to ping me though if you use your talk page so I know you are asking me a question. If you know of some articles you may have questions on, feel free to ask us. Da LambTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 06:26, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb Ok thanks, I've just expanded an article, tell me if I did a good job. Also what happened to your name? N1TH Music (talk) 06:27, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I change it every so often. It can be PDL or Da Lamb or PotsdamLamb :). What is the article? Please remember to enclose just the article name in some name so I can click on it. Thanks! Da LambTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 06:29, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb I thought you would check my contributions, anyway there's actually 2 and 1 I literally just published, Purfleet and Coronis N1TH Music (talk) 06:35, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ok on Purfleet I have set the layout and added somethings. On short articles like that use the reflist|2 that I put in there. Also, remember stubs go 2 spaces below the last line (so it should be the last category, hit enter, hit enter again, put in stub). This allows a little separation from everything else. I am not sure where on the Essex template at the bottom of the article Purfleet would go. If you know, I can go in and edit the template. Please do not take a guess, because that change will affect a lot of articles.
  • On Coronis I made some of the same changes, but I also needed to create a couple of templates. That is a very bare article so you can take information from enwp and put it on simple, but you need to simplify the language (following the previous links you were sent up top). Make sure attribution is given and preview many times so you can check for any errors.
Thanks! Da LambTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 07:08, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging articles with no sources[change source]

You don't have to tag every single articles without sources with {{no sources}}, especially if the article is short enough and doesn't have any disputable claims that would require sources. Adding tags en masse is discouraged, and it would be a better to just try and find the sources yourself. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 08:03, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hockeycatcat The article is fine right? N1TH Music (talk) 13:38, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it's fine. Just needs some expansion! Hockeycatcat (talk) 13:39, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hockeycatcat I know haha. I've been the one the one expanding all the small stubs so I thought it'd be ironic if I made what is by far the shortest article on the site. :) N1TH Music (talk) 13:41, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would love to help expand this one if you don't mind. :) Hockeycatcat (talk) 13:43, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hockeycatcat Did you see my other message. I wrote a short article about that place because I knew not much could be said. N1TH Music (talk) 13:50, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I know, but we could always add a bit more, so I copied some text from enwiki and simplified it. Hockeycatcat (talk) 13:53, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok ok, now I just made a new page, so please keep it short, (It's 48 bytes) N1TH Music (talk) 13:53, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I promise that I'll leave it alone! Hockeycatcat (talk) 13:54, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

But if you really want to expand something, there's another job you could help me with if you want? N1TH Music (talk) 13:55, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Go on... Hockeycatcat (talk) 13:56, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hockeycatcat So I'm about to create this article called Four Towers, Somerset. And I need to explain something first. So I was editing the enWiki and I created this page called Blackslough Wood which got deleted and shortly before that I got blocked. The article was quite bad and I had terrible sources and the discussion looked like this and somebody found some sources which made me want to check and then I came across all of these sources but my unblock request was (and still is) unreviewed. So I couldn't fix all the problems with the article. One of the editors was complaining that it was non-notable so what I want to do if use every single source I found and make an article here, then simply reword that into a proper article and put that on the enWiki to prove a point. That's why I made Blackslough But then today I had a better idea, Blackslough is located within this area called "Four Towers" which encompasses many similar areas, so what if I made an even longer article about a place which has a population of 0 and yet is completely notable. What do you think? N1TH Music (talk) 14:04, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I say let's give it a go since you seem to have found a number of good sources. Since you are blocked on enwiki like myself, I think that WP:ONESTRIKE applies to you. Obviously creating the page would be in good faith, so I think that it will be alright. I'll be happy to help in any way that I can. I think what you are saying about creating the article here and then transferring a more complex version onto enwiki is a very good idea. Hockeycatcat (talk) 15:46, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok Great well see User:N1TH Music/Four Towers project first thing we need to do is compile all our sources:
Search Terms include (Quotation marks included)
"Four Towers" "Blackslough"
"Four Towers" "Blacksloe"
"Four Towers" "Black slough"
"Somerset" "Blackslough"
"Somerset" "Blacksloe"
"Somerset" "Black slough"
"Somerset" "Aaron's Hill"
"Somerset" "Newpark Wood"
"Somerset" "Newpark Farm"
"Somerset" "Picket's Copse"
"Somerset" "Beaumont Wood"
"Somerset" "Perfect's Copsee"
"Somerset" "Three Wood Acres"
"Somerset" "Castle Wood"
"Four Towers" "Aaron's Hill"
"Four Towers" "Newpark Wood"
"Four Towers" "Newpark Farm"
"Four Towers" "Picket's Copse"
"Four Towers" "Beaumont Wood"
"Four Towers" "Perfect's Copsee"
"Four Towers" "Three Wood Acres"
"Four Towers" "Castle Wood"
That certainly has everything we need, compile all our sources at User:N1TH Music/Four Towers project just list them. I'm aiming at 100-200kb article. N1TH Music (talk) 16:23, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Hockeycatcat Oh and also Stavordale wood with the same other search terms N1TH Music (talk) 16:25, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have done some compiling work. Please let me know what you think! Hockeycatcat (talk) 17:00, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and I found this strange "Mafia Corruption" website which shows a deletion discussion that you took part in. Found it randomly when searching for one of the terms: https://mafiacorruption.pl/view_html.php?sq=hr_jobs&lang=en&q=Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Log/2022_July_2 -- Hockeycatcat (talk) 17:02, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Caution Notice[change source]

  1. I have noticed a lot of the same things you were doing on enWP carrying over to here. I would strongly encourage you to go through our rules, policies, and guidelines. We do have a WP:1STRIKE in effect on this Wikipedia.
  2. Be very careful in nominating articles for RfD. Our RfD process is nowhere near the same as enWP.
  • RECOMMENDATION - Take your time, read all of our rules, policies, and guidelines and keep them up on your screen as you work on articles. As of now, you are causing more for us because we have to backtrack and fix things. This was a piece of advice I was given back in the day and I wish I had followed it. Start off slowly, get to know how things work here and then build into other aspects of simple. I do not want to see you get blocked here as well. 1. Your edit summaries
    2. Not understanding what or why we would send things to RfD

I did a small expansion to Kampung Naga, I added a tag to LaFlia Contenidos which I think makes sense as it's not a stub so it needs proper sourcing though I may be wrong. And I nominated QD-A4 to Rio Sakurai Please have a look. N1TH Music (talk) 19:41, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    1. Rio Sakurai is taken care of
    2. On Kampung Naga You did a good job, just remember though it is two spaces then the stub. It took me a while on this one as I had to some research and some mapping and updating wikidata.
    3. On LaFlia Contenidos I would encourage you to also look at the categories below it and see if any of them show that the article has an error. If you open that cat (preferably in another tab/window) you usually see what to look for and you can make the change. Some throw errors that cannot be fixed and that is ok. You can always send me a message or ping me and I can help you. On this article:
    • Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls (so that means the template has 2 or more of the same types in it. These sometimes will have different names within the template to present the same information). It is basically chasing it down and fixing it. So when you go into edit, then preview it shows you the error it has which in this case is Warning: LaFlia Contenidos is calling Template:Infobox company with more than one value for the "homepage" parameter. Only the last value provided will be used. - So you find the duplicate and wipe it out.
    • Infoboxes always go at the top of the page and before any odd parameters that have to be added like special language templates etc and always before the lead sentence.
    • CS1 errors: dates Pretty self-explanatory; if you open the edit page, then do a preview, it will show you at the top of the page exactly what the error is. I was able to fix this as well.
Hope this helps. Da LambTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 22:03, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

RfD nomination of Faerschthaff[change source]

An editor has requested deletion of Faerschthaff, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/Faerschthaff and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. --IWI (talk) 14:04, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of notes[change source]

Hello, N1TH Music. Thanks for your work here. You might have noticed that I just undid some of your changes on article related to time. As I mentioned on Ferien's talk page, our practice is to keep those articles if there is anything -- even just one item -- other than the generic heading information. On this Wikipedia, many of our articles are shorter than the ones on English Wikipedia ("enwiki"), and this is an example of that.

I also undid your rename of Bob Parsons (American football). We might have only one article about anyone with this name, but we often match our article titles to those on English Wikipedia ("enwiki"). That's because a lot of articles here are created by copying them from enwiki and then simplifying them. If we don't match the names, we can get incorrect links. For example, you had renamed this article to just "Bob Parsons". There is a link to that which actually refers to a different person with the name, so although your reason for renaming made sense, it created an incorrect link.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. -- Auntof6 (talk) 11:34, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok no worries, that's ok thanks for informing me, I was just a little worried to find 10 notifications I'm glad you cleared things up. The only thing I'm confused by was your reasoning for closing WP:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/Faerschthaff I do not understand what you mean by incoming links, could you clear that up please. N1TH Music (talk) 11:39, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
By "incoming links" I meant links to the article. -- Auntof6 (talk) 11:45, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So that's why it got deleted, if I'd added link from Contern, the discussion could've been continued, could it have stayed as an article or must it have been redirected? N1TH Music (talk) 11:48, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 Also when extending an article about a year or decade, is it ok to copy the birth or deaths column from the En.wiki, just delete all the people who haven't got an article here from the list. Because, it's only a list, there's not much simplifiation to be done is there? N1TH Music (talk) 12:03, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay to copy, but you don't need to delete the redlinked ones. In most cases, we keep red links because they can help point to articles that are missing here.
How much simplification is needed depends on how much verbiage is in the list. With births and deaths there probably isn't much. If you point me to a specific example, I can give you an idea of what might need simplifying. -- Auntof6 (talk) 12:41, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 I've been patrolling Special:Shortpages making sure there aren't any particulaly tiny articles and have been expanding the smallest ones one by one. 1247 and 1141 are at the top of the list, I just want to expand them quickly by copying the Births and deaths column from the en wiki and pasting it there, is that ok? N1TH Music (talk) 12:44, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Those mostly look simple enough, but there are some terms that aren't simple. Most of them should probably be linked. Readers on enwiki are more likely to know English words like mystic (as a noun), statesman, landgrave, nobleman/woman, samurai, and maybe others, so they aren't linked on enwiki. Most of those can't really be simplified, but links would be good. -- Auntof6 (talk) 12:57, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

September 2022[change source]

Hello, N1TH Music! Here at Simple English Wikipedia we use the section heading "Other websites" instead of English Wikipedia's "External links", which you used in "Aegean Airlines". This makes it simpler and easier to read. Please remember to use "Other websites" in articles that you create in the future. Thank you for your help! MathXplore (talk) 11:47, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@MathXplore Oh right, somebody told me this already, I forgot, I apoligise. Thanks for reminding me :) N1TH Music (talk) 11:48, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Before adding a category to an article, as you did to "Strabeg", please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category you have chosen. Categories that are not suitable will be removed from articles. If you are not sure what category an article belongs in, leave a message on the article's talk page. Thank you. MathXplore (talk) 03:06, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Far North[change source]

Thank you for starting the Far North line. It's rather interesting. Macdonald-ross (talk) 17:36, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Macdonald-ross No problem, would you like me to expand it, I kinda just wanted to make a stub like I was doing for many other topics in the same area, but I can make it a shortened and simplified version of the enwiki article. N1TH Music (talk) 19:21, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your work here. Expanding articles is always a good thing! Having a stub is certainly better than having nothing, but contrary to what people sometimes think articles do not have to be short to be simple.
One note would be to be sure to categorize pages that you create. If you'd like help with that, feel free to ask. -- Auntof6 (talk) 19:42, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 Thanks, I know how to add categories, I just forget or don't know which ones to add. Also I wish to know what's a bigger priority, creating a new article about a Topic like the Far North Line or expanding an article about a slightly more notable topic? N1TH Music (talk) 19:47, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think either is a higher priority. Some individual editors might prefer one over the other, but both are helpful to the wiki.
As for categories, just keep in mind that we don't always have the same ones here that enwiki has. That is sometimes because we use a different name, and sometimes because we have a guideline saying that each category should have a least three entries. If there aren't that many entries for a topic, we don't create the category. (There are a few exceptions, though, such as administrative categories.) -- Auntof6 (talk) 19:55, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your alternate account[change source]

As you confirmed your alt. account @Not N1TH Music, please keep in your mind that the alt. account should not be used in enwiki, as you were blocked. They (admins on enwiki) may not unblock you per en:WP:SO, if you edit on that alt. account. Just a reminder. And keep editing. :) DMK-C5 (talk) 15:06, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@DMK-C5 Thanks for the reminder, but I am very much aware of block evasions, I shan't be using that account on the enwiki until I'm unblocked on this account. N1TH Music (talk) 15:29, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DFO makes a courtesy call, tips hat, leaves. Deepfriedokra (talk) 16:28, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Deepfriedokra Thanks for the clarification but on the enwiki my user page on both accounts still states I am a sockpuppet, is this still due the IPs which are in use on multiple devices. Is there anything I can do about that? Not N1TH Music (talk) 17:43, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oops wrote this on the wrong account, my bad N1TH Music (talk) 17:44, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In mathematics, the word "derive" has a special meaning. Please see Derivative (mathematics). The current version of the page you changed is nonsense in mathematical context so it should be reverted. MathXplore (talk) 07:40, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Before adding a category to an article, as you did to "Smooth function", please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category you have chosen. Categories that are not suitable will be removed from articles. If you are not sure what category an article belongs in, leave a message on the article's talk page. Thank you. MathXplore (talk) 07:42, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Mathematical function templates is a template category, so articles should never be included at here. MathXplore (talk) 07:44, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

October 2022[change source]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for undoing your recent test with the page "Template:Trudlerbaach". Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about changing our encyclopedia. In the future, please do not make tests on article pages; instead, use the sandbox. Thank you. MathXplore (talk) 07:48, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@MathXplore The page itself isn’t a test, I do plan to use the templates I’ve created however I’m a beginner at working with templates so often I make errors. N1TH Music (talk) 08:13, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

RfD nomination of Template:Railways in Contern[change source]

Do you want to do something with this unused template you created last year? If not, or if not yet, let's delete it until it's wanted. -- Auntof6 (talk) 23:53, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Auntof6 I'll add it to Santa Margherita Ligure I'll make a geography Section, Sorry I went on hiatus and stopped editing for a while. N1TH Music (talk) 17:37, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, that sounds good. Two things:
  • Could you categorize the template?
  • The two collapsible templates on Santa Margherita Ligure are on the right way down at the bottom of the page. Can you do some formatting to allow them to be farther up instead of after the bottom of the infobox? Maybe allow for floating left, or positioning at the right of the text but to the left of the infobox?
Thanks. -- Auntof6 (talk) 20:25, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 I tried positioning them to the left but Idk how to do that, sorry if you can find an example on this or the english wiki then I could view the source and fix it, and I'll try to categorise them but I'm not sure which categories to put them in. Also I think now that the templates are in use, the Rfc can be closed as speedy keep so I don't know if you have authority to do that as you were the nominator but if you can please do it because I get anxious still seeing them there. Thnaks :) N1TH Music (talk) 20:49, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 Yeah I also don't know how to add categories when I'm editing the source and I can't seem to find a way to make it visual, I'm trying but I don't see a way, if you know please tell me N1TH Music (talk) 20:59, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
